I immediately said the same thing when I heard this sound. I am mostly a Funk/R&B guitar player and this will sound great on some of my solos. Of all the distortion examples I have heard IMHO, this one sounds the best.

Great overview Jason. Very helpful. Just got the software version about two weeks ago, bought some captures (including some of yours) and have just been playing without touching any knobs. Now I understand better how they work and I feel confident to tweak a bit if I find it necessary.

Nice Demo again and nice tones. This shows users how to TWEAK a Preset to what they would want, I did notice the RESET CHAIN button so if you want to change it back it is there. I had to do this stuff on my old Vox Tonelab SE, but doing so on the computer would be a real bonus, they can be changed on the Tonex to a degree on the pedal itself too. One thing I think only one person has demoed/showed so fair is that not only can you 2 switch the footswitch to go bank up or bank down, but that the upper Right hand knob on the Pedal can be used to dial BANKS up and Down, which might be easier for some for Live Gigs. As usual you are covering this Pedal really well, and understand all this so well. Thanks for this. Now with the 3 switches is that 3 different presets or just 3 within any particular Amp Capture. In other words could one be a Black face fender, no.2 Jcm800 marshall, 3. Mesa amp Maybe someone would do a clean fender, then switch to 2 for a Dirty Rhythm sound, and then use the no3 for your lead sounds, If it works like this, it would be really versatile for live gigs. Might be able to do a video on this, at least that one you would not have to spend Hours tweaking knobs to do. Thanks for all your doing with this. Hope you are able to sell many of these.

@@JasonSadites I plan on using the Tonex Pedal with my HXFX, seeing as it’s easily controlled via midi. The Tonex Pedal will definitely add life to my single channel (1 trick pony) amps like the Marshall SLX. Creating captures of the various gain stages (Clean to Mean) will definitely open up the full potential of these single channel amps. I can hardly wait!

I use depth control frequently. To me, anytime I have a tone I like but that is a bit "flat" , when my right hand does not seem to provide enough dynamic changes, then I boost depth (one mark is often enough). There are some tones from captures I bought that don't seem to need it. Some other are barely usable without changing the depth param . I suspect that it depends on the information content initially provided in the speaker used in the capture. Furthermore, if you struggle getting a palm mute type of performance, the depth param may be the solution.

Hey Jason, do you have any video on how to connect the guitar/TONEX/amp so that you can hear the tone model connected to the power in of a speaker cabinet? I can’t get it to work as you are doing…

Hello Jason, I have a question. When I connect the Tonex Pedal to the computer, I want to play music and play guitar without using the sound card feature directly, but what do I need to do is turn on the sound card feature directly? I don't want this because the delay in the sound card bothers me a lot. Is there a solution to this? In my old processor, when I plugged the USB into the computer, it played any sound directly from the computer.

How do I save 6.GIGGER so if the mid or something gets changed on the pedal I can get back to the original setting?

A good rule of thumb is to put the mid control back to “5” you’ll be back to the original setting. Whenever I experiment with one of the presets, I always try to find the baseline settings for each control before I change anything. 9 times out of 10, I have found that to be “5” on any given dial. The preset light will turn green when you find the “stock” position. But if just one knob has been bumped, and you start turning another knob, the light will be amber and you may never figure out which knob was changed. In this case, I simply change presets without saving and then change back and repeat the process of finding “home” on each knob. When I do this, and I make a change I like, I will immediately save it - to keep from having to “find home” on the controls again. HTH and have fun!
