Growing up in New Orleans wasn`t always easy for Arizona Cardinals DB Tyrann Mathieu, but Mathieu overcame the hardships and now finds himself thriving in the NFL.
+Iskusmarines no that's wrong if your dumb enough to get pregnant as a teenager u must be responsible enough to take care of the child you can't just run away from your responsibilities even when it might cost you your college education
Love his story. I'm from New Orleans and I was only raised there for 3 years because of Katrina. Spent most of my life in Georgia, but I always wanna go back home. #504baby
I remember being pretty hard on Tyrann for his troubles at LSU. In fact, I was angry at him for throwing away opportunities many young men wish they could have. I'm just glad he has a chance to do great things. I wish him nothing but the best..👌🏽
TheLifeOnHigh ya he was my role model, and my fav player by far and when that happened I was in 5th grade, in short and wanted to be a cb at LSU, now I wanna be a rb though
Do non starters that won't even go in and are not even in a uniform but jut standing on the sideline behind the players but still on the roster get super bowl rings?
To see where he is now makes me so happy. 3x 1st Team All-Pro. HOF all decade team. SB champ. As somebody who’s been through a lot of things as a young man, this dude is a role model to me now.
Honeybadger don't give a fuck....wait what's that? Honeybadger got jammed up by some defense, tore some ligaments? Honeybadger just takes a long nap and rests for a few months aaaaaaaaand what's that? Honeybadger pick 6!! Honeybadger don't care bout torn ligaments, Honeybadger don't give a fuck!!
I remember wanting the Browns to draft him so bad coming out! But it's probably a great thing that he got drafted by the Cardinals to be with Patrick Peterson. He seemed to be a strong support for Tyrann.
as a long time tiger fan-- I want to say that everyone I know is so proud of the hard work that you have put in to bring yourself back to what we all know you are--- a fearless, great competitor and an man working hard to become a better man and a better player. We here in Baton Rouge are all behind you man. I never watched a cardinal game before Patrick and you went there, but I try not to miss one when I can get it here in la. I know you will come back from this latest injury too, but regardless, you have brought a lot of enjoyment to a lot of people and you are an inspiration to all people looking for and willing to work for a second chance. Get well soon, and I wish you the best in life.
Coming from a Broncos fan....... I'm very proud of the Badger. He has come a long way and I'm glad. Congrats to the Badger and the Chiefs on your SuperBowl win. GO BRONCOS
Man I’m so happy for this guy. True definition of how someone can change and how sometimes all it needs is a bit of a shift in your environment and inner circle.
i look up to this guy. we wear the same number play the same position and from the same state. ive been through alot and watching hime make the nfl and get to play again inspired me to workout get back in shape and start from semi pro and make my way to the CFL.
Great to see the Tyrann turn it around and be a star in the NFL after a troubled past. I'm a Redskins fan but I've always had a soft spot for the Cards and they did a great thing by drafting him. No doubt the Honey Badger made a commitment to do better, but it's also great that he had RESPECTED veterans/professionals like Fitz and Patrick Peterson willing to give advice and help him along the way.
+Papa John honey Devery Henderson will probably be the last tiger ever to come to NOLA. Might as well accept it now. Bet u bout a dollar they wont run after Fournette when he leaves for the draft after this season!
I just read your story and currently listening to your journey. For what it’s worth...you are an example of what end results look like. Clearly you worked hard, overcame struggles and kept moving forward! I don’t know how you did it. I am a proud Chiefs fan. Keep on moving on!
No one is perfect. It's not how you fall that defines your future. It's how you bounce back and willing to turn your negative into positive. He did it sooner than later, which helps you to have a better career.
If the footage exists from the airing of this video, i'd LOVE to see everything up to the start of the upcoming season. What a moving human being. From the Cards nasty DB core to the Chiefs mesmerizing talents. Superbowl W and L. I can't wait to see where he's going either.
Hey Tyrann, I am truly proud of u. My mom CC loves u. She has been watching u since LSU. As sad as it is, my brother Tu-Tu is locked up with ur biological dad Tyrone. I also know ur adopted mom Shelia who is a sweet person, ur aunt Zan she is my friend. Keep up the good work baby. Stay positive and let nothing hold u back r down. Cocalicious
So much love for TM7 it brings me to tears- I couldn't be more proud if he were my own son. God bless you, PP7 for standing by him. You both continue to be amazing examples for all of us on the bayou. T-I-G-E-R-S...TIGERS!!
I didn't know much about the Badger. I'd hear a million references but still no knowledge. As a present Chiefs fan, I was skeptical of his acquisition. This dude is for real and this is a great video. Tyrann...you the man! I am so proud of you facing and conquering tough situations to land with the Chiefs. I'll say it again, I was skeptical, but in a couple of games I am now a big fan. Keep up the hard work! Very impressed!
Congratulations young man on your heart, dedication & faith in yourself. Super Bowl Champions. Stay on point you can be the next Steve Atwater or Ed Reed.
If we could make an 'all knuckle-head' team that got their life on track before they faded away here's what it would look like: QB Jamarcus Russell RB Joseph Randle WR Josh Gordon WR Justin Blackmon WR Titus Young TE Aaron Hernandez O-line DE Greg Hardy DE Sam Montgomery DT OLB Daryl Washington MLB Rolando McClain* OLB Dion Jordan CB CB FS SS *Mcclain is back on track but at one point he was a goner. I'm having some trouble filling some of these spots. Anybody care to chime in? Remember only troubled players not injured guys or straight up busts (Mo Claibourne, Greg Robinson, Trent Richardson, etc)
Mad respect out to this young man for making it out of New Orleans and respect out to his grandparents and adoptive parents for giving him an opportunity to make something of himself. ANYONE WHO MAKES IT OUT OF NEW ORLEANS IS BLESSED. IT IS REAL SAVAGE DOWN THERE💯🙏Oh yeah and he is definitely a first rounder they just wanted to make him sweat
TM the HB. My brother & sister played basketball at LSU. My brother on the 86 Final 4 team, drafted by Denver. You overcame life struggles. God Blessed you. Your struggles made you who you are today. I was at 7 of LSU games when you were there. YOU won the West Virginia game. But, you won life when you overcame darkness. Much love and prosperity HB!!!
As a raider fan and a recovering alcoholic I admit the honey badger I’m jealous that the chiefs got to him before we did dude is a playmaker helps any defense get better my hats off to tyrann
Watching these guys play for LSU was so electric - their intensity just raised the game... I remember the day he got booted from the team. It hurt not because of mad feelings, but rather because his talent was undeniable and football was the gateway to accomplishing a dream and a ticket to a better life. As for Patrick Peterson, their friendship was instrumental in guiding Ty through some rough & uncertain waters - that brotherly love really kept him in the game and that he got drafted by the Cardinals tells you everything you need to know! We always look forward to seeing the guys return to LSU and encourage the next generation - it’s a special place and the chance of rain... ZERO! #GeauxTigers #ForeverLSU #NFLSU #HoneyBadger
Bro,exempt yourself from negativity...whether be wrong people, vibe...surroundings etc..clearly you are beyond gifted especially where family is concerned because they were concerned for you and your well being....do what you do and you can definitely be the best ever at the position.....you can have whatever you want.....just by doing right....lead by example and make those proud of who love you and you them...no doubt you e turned your life around .....the world is yours.....live by the universal rule of karma....remember just because no one sees it doesn't mean you wont be punished in so many ways...stay blessed my brother.
Also knew Pat had something to do with landing him in Arizona! LOL! He was the first name that came to mind when Tyrann's name called! And of COURSE I was pissed as hell b.c I thought New Orleans was about to wrap him up in the 3rd for sure! I'd never forget that moment b/c N.O was RIGHT behind ARI after that pick. Still can't believe he was ONE pick away from staying home! New Orleans can most certainly use him in their secondary right about now
People only say that because he is surrounded by the ones who got him in a whole , however, half of LSU Draft picks play for Arizona, so It's almost like he never left Baton Rouge. I honestly think he would have stayed clean under the wing of Sean Payton cause he don't put up with that shit. Anthony Hargrove had a drug history before coming to the saints and he stayed put of trouble.
When I saw him get up after he literally shredded his ACL and hamstring 😳 to me he will always be the honey badger!! @tyrannmathieu love to watch you play!
I remember when he was a kid before he went to high school.. I use to school him lol but he was only 13 & i was 19 but for a kid he had amazing speed and I remember I said to myself he is going to make it and he did Lil Tee did it. We played in Melanie Park in the 8th ward I remember it like it was yesterday
I'm a Junior, I'm from Lake Charles Louisiana and I only played 1 1/2 years of football in highschool because of grades. I now go to a continuation school in California and I miss football I'm not going to be able to play football in highschool never again but this isn't gonna stop me. I look up to Tyrann he's been my favorite player since 09 been following him since. Just remember the name....Rogers Williams
Even as a niners fan I love him and pat p. Such likable guys with such a noticeable love of the game. I'd be fans of then even of they weren't AMAZING.
So proud he is now a Chief. What a great story of overcoming the odds and now being a leader of a team SB bound. Mad respect from a white boy in KCMO ✌️
Tyrann Mathieu was the most exciting LSU player ever. In 2011, the numerous forced fumbles, the punt returns for touchdowns against Arkansas and Georgia and the numerous other clutch plays made him one of the greatest LSU tigers (despite the mistakes he made). He is the true number 7.
