$700.00 is crazy expensive. The Butler Creek 10/22 folding stock sold for around $80.00 and even knowing this model is better designed and manufactured and also counting for inflation that is just still way too expensive. Will someone out there start remaking the old Butler Creek designs. One had a thick wire folding stock and the other was some type of polymer. Either could be mass produced for cheap, so there's plenty of room for financial profit. Anyway, Thank you for a great review on what looks to be a high quality product.
The stock cost more than the rifle. If you bought them sepererate, it would save $100, however, you would lose the iron sights. They should save you $100 and cost $500.
If you want a quality folding stock made of steel and walnut then it's going to cost a decent bit. The stock doesn't care what rifle its attached to; that wont change the price. Some people are willing to pay for quality. Others aren't.
