@LivinLoudwithAndy got a question so I have a taramp smart 8k bass and it's clamps at 1ohm 11,234 watts burp and playing music over 10k I have a separate high output alternator just for the sounds 250 amp going up to 370amp and I have 2 titan8 s5 batteries getting a 3rd one which will put me at 30ah in batteries will that be more than enough power to keep my voltage from dropping to 11 voltage when playing?

This is amazing! I remember running 4 agm group 31s in my tahoe for 1500 watts. It made a huge difference but man this is so much smaller.

I got a 1000-watt system rn, and I got a 150 amp alt. While playing, my voltage drops enough to make my signal clip. Need a small enough battery to fit under my driver seat, but keep my voltage around 12-13, got any recommendations?

I agree about commercial drop in solutions in that they are just convenient in being plug and play, after doing the proper charging routine of course. I will gladly pay more in knowing that I will have support AND a warranty, after the initial purchase. Any DIY equivalent solution has you pretty much on your own. We appreciate the effort you put into these kinds of demo/comparison explainer vids. Team Green FTW! 🔥

@@imfrom210texas While true... there are risks associated with the DIY choice of assembling, charging and installing a lithium bank. Some people have the dexterity and aptitude to follow a video along and build one themselves. Other folk are more comfortable in using a ready made commercial application for plug and play ease of use. It all depends on the individual. And besides, some of us are just friggin lazy TBH. 😆

Ya my heart rate the first time was thru the roof because I know the consequences if I mess up 😆 Some people don’t even know the possibilities and that’s when you hear the horror stories of cars catching fire or injury while assembling without the prior experience Not gonna be fore everyone But everyone at some point of their experience in the hobby !

@@LivinLoudwithAndy This also doesn't account for the occasional mistake that can happen from being inattentive or tired. Sometimes people forget to remove a fuse or hot power run before manipulating their setups, so worst case scenarios can happen. Bass Dad had a perfect video that illustrated this. He posted his mistake as a public service announcement for awareness and public safety.

Great video, Andy. "How long can it keep it up?"... exactly. How well has it worked listening to music bumping down the road? For BASS HEAVY, Livin' Loud bass music (which I enjoy when on main roads, not neighborhoods) was there any noticeable drop-off with repeated low bass hits? Have you been able to road test it yet? I'm asking because of the greater discharge of the power series... the charge time I know is in m/s but curious. I like to 'buy ahead' with components because it's too expensive to "save" a couple hundred $$$ just to buy the 'better' component in a year (for me). Thanks!

Thankyou ! With this set up I noticed less output from hot coils more so than voltage drop It does drop but almost a brick wall around 11.3-5 Compared to AGMs I’ve ran where it would see 10s to 9s on the same power and input applied With the right alternator it would stay steady 12.4-12.8 if not more 🙌🏼🔥

There is a way to break it down and with efficiency losses but … If you look at power as just watts - 746w =1hp Obviously nothing is 100% efficient but even if it was … let’s say 5hp loss To figure out mpg - that’s above me but there is math you can do to get an idea Tbh nothing noticeable - maybe a difference of .1 mpg 👊🏼🔥

I was looking at titan 8 3400, however I went with an Underground Power 40ah bank. I have a JS 370 alternator. Deaf Bonce AAK-2000.5 I can go full tilt for about 25 minutes straight before hitting 13.0. Just running 2 10s wired at 1 ohm. Those cxa 1800.1s arent gna put out any more power than u clamped at 3500~ watts. Need bigger amps. Which is why you werent seeing more power on the amp side.

True those amps were pretty much tapped - make really good power down to 12v too That UG 40ah is a 6s LTO bank as well Slower discharge and recharge values and twice the space Good batteries tho - nice for that single 1800.1 Had a DIY battery of the same, on this set up and it did very well ! More fuel in the tank but less horsepower per pound available in a sense👊🏼

I have a s5 on a 2500 sia it holds voltage without charging 12.7 12.8 for 3000 watts total with voice and stock alternator it can hold well . When it charges it stays 14.3-14.0

So xspower series better than d4slto6 ? The d4s supposedly good for cars that can't change alternator like mine. I have a jeep wrangler jl 2.0 turbo with etorque. It foesnt have a alternator. It has a generator and a 48v lithium bank under the jeep help regenerating the battery to Stay at a 14.3 to 14.8v. What would you recommend. I'm pushing (2) ds18 gfx3k-2 totaling 6000watts for my subs and 3200 rms for mids highs. Was going with 3 agm odyssey extreme xtr3100 batteries but that's ALOT of weight. Thanx until the next video

Appreciate the feedback! The D4S is semi similar to the Power series It has two banks of 2.9ah 75c cells Think of 6x75 so an estimate of 450a of peak discharge for a few seconds The Titan power is one bank of 10ah 75c So roughly 750a of peak maybe more That being said the Titan has more potential power but the price reflects that I would recommend in laymen’s term … 1 Titan for every 3 AGMs you normally would be using If you want steadier voltage with longer play time on the limited power supply then running two would be beneficial 🙌🏼

So final verdict. Which one is better to keep in your car the reserve or power series? I know we can build better lithiums but i like that this battery is good to go out of the box and has a nice casing. Im just running a system with 5k watts total of anplifier power. 1-2 of these with a d2400 and 320 amp alt should be sufficient.

You just gotta look at it this way … The Titan power will drop less voltage compared to the reserve Tho it will eventually drop down to the voltage the reserve drops to and then some I think two power series would be equivalent of play time as the one reserve But have a lot less drop 👊🏼 Two reserves will last even longer But have a greater drop than the two powers Give and take 👊🏼🔥

They do sell special chargers for them but I’ve used normal smart chargers that are for lead acid/agm that work flawlessly with these!

In same exact boat with needing a passenger/kid friendly truck.. funny I was looking at doing the single run setup too cause it would fit behind my rear seat wo issue which is where my amps are anyways. I don’t have enough clearance for the titans.. they are a bit too thick cause my box goes all the way to the back of the cab.. I’m looking at getting two of the xp680’s as they will just fit above the box and as the seats taper back.. I actually could pull my center console and I think I could fit a Titan under there but there is a lot of metal under there and I really don’t want to have a mishap where I end up with 200amps running through my butt checks while driving lol.. I really like the idea of the covered connections though.. especially since it’s inside a metal box hidden out of sight.

Resting voltages - parasitic draws when ran with different chemistries Being 5s these will pull off your AGM or stock battery Rather than your stock battery pulling off your expensive batteries Technically if you never shut your car off - it wouldn’t matter But also charging range To get the complete capacity of the 6s you need to charge to 15.7 The 5s only 13.5 really … You will drop lower but have more capacity per cell Pros and cons with each 🙌🏼

@@cdracos1 I ended up hooking up my mids and I amp directly to my car battery because it was already hooked up there anyways I then ended up getting a JAG 35 lev60 baby slim 74 amp hour lithium and hooked it up directly to my AGM then going from the lithium I have a 5K hooked up and giving full power to my subs I don't drop below The volts at all and it's all been going on a stock 130a alternator. With no battery draining issues at all I take my batteries apart and check them every once in a while and they remain as original every once in a while I'll hook up smart charger up to my AGM battery and charge them both at the same time because they're both booked up to each other but they only charge for maybe 40 minutes and then they're done The batteries don't drain. I want to get another 5K. I've been running it like this for 4 months since that last comment I ordered it right away.

How do these little lithium batteries function in vehicles with ecm controlled alternators that have charge voltage higher than rated voltage of lithium batteries? My 06 Dodge 2500 charges 14.8-14.9 above 40°F. Pushes 15.1-15.3 when temperatures approach 0°F. Short of completely redoing the electronical(not interested) id like to add 1-2 lithium batteries but not uf over charging is going to damage them. Current set up will be utilizing JP77 which pulls a 3000 watt rms. With 12k winch and accessory lighting, i want have ample safe power but unsure how to incorporate lithium. Can you shed some light on this? Thanks again Andy

So the titan how many would I have to run for a 3000watt amp I’m not able to run the subs at 1 ohm pulls too many amps with 3 agms 105 amp hours at 3600 watts so I’m stuck at 4 ohms also this is on my pontoon so I can’t install an upgraded alternator for an outboard motor. So Batteries are the way to go. But I don’t want all that extra weight. It slows you down. I would like a lithium set up. I just don’t know exactly what I need to keep me bumping for 10 or so hours

You could get away with one bank but will probably damage the cells from over discharging and/or limited run time I would go with 2banks just so you can cover that discharge and have more capacity to play longer and hold voltage 🙌🏼

10ah prismatic LTO cells 75c 20ah prismatic LTO cells 30c Power and reserve respectively Looks to be a quality balance board as well to keep the cells at the same voltage throughout 🔥🙌🏼

Just ordered an XS Power PWR S5. Question, stock alternator is 210 amps and resting voltage at my amplifier is 14.9v, which XS states in the manual to not go over 14.4v. I emailed XS tech support, but want guidance if this resting voltage is bad for LTO batteries? Diode isolators cut voltage 0.7v or so, but do not want to go that route due to amperage limitations on those, and DC to DC chargers at high amperage are very costly. Any help/tips would greatly be helpful. Thanks!

Can be any size - just how long it will take and how the battery takes that charge it’s being sent For example a Titan reserve will take longer to charge from dead but give you more play time With my 100a alt and how those fluctuate with actual current I can get fully charged from dead in 5-10mins But discharge time depends how long I’m playing and how much the alternator is keeping up with that demand from the amp Smaller alt - less time before you’re out lol! Appreciate your comment!

Im running a js 320 alt all welding cable 0 gauge and a down for sound lto 6.0 with a jp 43 and the voltage recovers fast but isnt strong enough cause ill drop from 14.2 -12.2 full tilt my plan is to get the xs power 500farad super cap bank that is made to run with the lto and hopefully that keeps me at 13 volts until i can get a titan 8 under the hood 04 camry

Ive seen videos of a 4k amp running with only a 240 alt and 1 lto 6.0 and staying at like 13.8 so im wondering if my alt is actually putting out good power and my amp is turned down

If you charge above 14.4 when the car is warm then yes I’ve ran them on 13.8v charging and results were close to the same as a 5s battery

Google: LTO 10ah 2.3v cells ,operating temperature range of -40°C to +60°C. That’s quite a range ! I would assume yes 👊🏼🔥

Great video! I’m really thinking of getting a couple of the pwr s5 for my jp83 amp. I already have 2 d3400’s under my hood. My concern is my voltage is around 15-15.2 on a cold day start up, but drops to mid 14’s when warm. Will that still be ok for these batteries? Thanks!

Easily 2! One since you gave an upgraded alt - just to see the biggest results And secondly to have more reserve and discharge Two of these would be perfect on a 10k amp All comes down to how much you actually clamp and for how long

I guess you have a stock alternator??? So if you upgrade to around (240A - 300A ) you should be fine with one battery

Yes this build is a stock one If you’re running only one Titan8 I would recommend only a stock alternator so you do not over charge/heat it Two or more it’s fine I’m sure you can do it but damage can be done over time 👊🏼

@@LivinLoudwithAndy thank you for the quick reply :~) I got a 192ah headway on a 370 singer and a 270 Ohio Gen alts running a Bass 20k and a HD3k and at full tilt I see 12.5-12.9 after back to back full tilt songs. Most times it holds 13’s solid. People say 12.5v and up is acceptable. You agree? Asking because you seem very knowledgeable. Thanks bub :~)

LFP has its pros and cons as well Prismatic LTO is THE safest lithium chemistry out there I’ll pay extra for that and a warranty I have my own DIY banks too - headaches compared to clicking a button then simply waiting for it to arrive and install Pros and cons everywhere ❤️👊🏼

Ps -that “12k” is not a realistic rating Those are good for 700a down to 12v That’s 8,400w of battery power Amplifiers are usually 75-80% efficient So roughly good for 6,500w Stand Alone Add 1,400w for every 100a of input you have 👊🏼

Great video! I am a beginner to car audio. I have a an amp running at 3000 rms watts, and a 4 channel running at 100x4 and an epicenter. Stock alternator. Running 1/0 sky high wiring and an oddysey agm battery. What would you guys suggest i do so i can play my system for long periods? ANY SUGGESTIONS welcomed thanks

Thankyou !!! Happy to help where I can! Alternators are more difficult but when done can fix a lot of wrongs .. Without doing that you are playing on borrowed time honestly - whatever the battery can discharge and it’s capabilities Bring 3000w rms you probably draw 2-300a so most batteries will work and be beneficial If your sticking with the titans I would run the RSV version for longer play times and something that can take that power Other options are LFP batteries and there are a lot to choose from More one on one questions join my live or email me at livinloudwithandy@gmail.com Appreciate ya!

Those are scib cells in there and they are ran in 5s configuration which is under charging the cells which also means the cell life is shortened, scabs are ment to be ran in 6s. Garbage battery

Unfortunately I only charge to 14 - mostly 13.8 under normal conditions Not for every set up - great for vehicles with low charging systems Not garbage
