The Pocket 3 is more about observing the action and vlogging with high quality, the gimble doesn't move fast enough, the Go is about being discreet and in the action as it is water proof and doesn't care about framing or object tracking. That being said, if someone wants heavy action footage then the DJI Osmo, Ace Pro or Gopro is a better option. Different use cases, all types have pros and cons.

Dam, definitely miss the find mine on the GO3S, even though the 4K doesn’t necessarily intrigue me.

My understanding is that it's mostly the new lens and a much faster processor that pulls off the 4K. The new lens does make the overall FOV 10% less, but also it has a lot less lens flare which is nice.

This camera I reckon because it's small, light and shoots 4K

Well, Dylan Johnson put the go 3 under the bike computer for Unbound and found it even saved watts

It can get in the way but I wear the necklace a bit shorter so it sits just above

@@thegorillaguide not as a safe cam. Though you need less resolution for safe cam. Battery may last longer in low res non-free frame mode. If you are just in for some action shot, its battery is more than enough. Insta made it very convenient to start/stop recording. Believe me, you don’t want to capture a 4 hrs ride in its entirety. It’s bloody boring and neigh on impossible to find the interesting bits.

@@suisinghoraceho2403 The Q was about use as a safety option. Unfortunately there is no information from the manufacturer about whether it has a low battery usage safety mode.

I run it just above the HRM strap. Being angled and pointing down is a problem on racier bikes, I've bodged a small piece of foam into a triangular shape to go under the pendant to counteract this

the pendant even with the wedge really isnt a great angle. I just bought a 3d printed holder that still uses the magnetic pendant but is a much better angle for cycling

The new hat clip has a metal plate on the clip part so that it attaches to the pendant as well, giving you the complete range of adjustment that the hat clip has... Meaning no more dumb wedges to get lost.

I agree, David's video is thorough and informative, and as an owner, Insta360 products generally live up to good value for money and quality of hardware and footage. Their marketing though feels shameless and a brief search on RU-vid will reveal many creators who have dropped them for their specifically requesting that sponsored videos and paid promotions be hidden as such. Which honestly just makes the job of reviewers like David tougher, as Insta360 themselves have introduced a shadow of doubt to the impartiality of all product reviews of theirs online.

I just want to be very clear and transparent about paid promotions which is why I ticked the boxed and also mention it in the video. To answer JHarris the company didn't make any requests to hide the fact they supported this ad. But honestly all views are my own on the performance of the product. I do appreciate your kind words that you found it a great video though :)

That's a bunch of bull crap. You're claiming that no human can ignore a bias that has been identified. Perhaps you are too weak to do so, but that doesn't mean that every human is. Every human is biased, whether they are sponsored or not, but if you are aware of the bias then you can take steps to make sure that you are being as neutral as possible. In fact, this is the fundamental basis of the scientific method going all the way back to the founder of Western logic, Socrates, which is the source of all real progress at improving our map of our common reality, i.e. by acknowledging that humans are flawed and biased and looking instead for a consensus with regards to the interpretation of the hard data rather than individual opinions. After you do that, you are still biased but you are not as biased. After all, acknowledging a problem is the first step to conquering it.

Yes, my understanding is that the vast majority of videos are watched on smartphones. But also I am given to understand that there is more traffic on RU-vid than on all other streaming services put together, so that probably leaves still plenty of people watching on television with high-speed internet. I know that's all I watch...

nice idea but you'd run out of space on the memory card at some point

@@davidarthur I guess so. I have a 256GB card in my GoPro that's mounted to my helmet, and it will record for 6 hours. So I guess 128 would be only 3 hours, but that's still better than 33 minutes. Thanks for creating a super helpful video on this new camera. 🙂

There is an accessory for GO 2 to do just that. I imagine it works for Go 3 as well. The action pod is usb-c. You could just plug it in.

@@mitchlewis535 With normal Go 3, it’s almost 3.5G for 6 minutes of free form video. So for 128GB, there are about 115GB available once system files are accounted for. You get 197 minutes of footage.

Because Insta360 is the company name und Go 3s the name of the camera.

The automatic is on the heavy side. That is what the Chinese market wants. You could manual it. At least turn sharpening to low.
