Great car. I owned a 996.1 GT3 Club Sport for 12 years and was by far the best and most fun car I've owned. I had the Manthey K400 upgrade (my car was dyno'd at 395BHP), a cup steering wheel and the suspension was set up for the track by a well known Porsche GT3 specialist here in the UK. My ideal GT3 is a 996 version with the 4 litre engine from the 997.2 GT3RS. I drove a couple of 997 GT3's but I didn't like the gearchange which felt stiff and awkward.
Wow! I have a 996.1 C2 but I have driven a 996.1 GT3 about 150 km and I know how wonderful it is. My car is really good but the GT3 is something really special. The difference is really the engine. The Mezger is like two engines in one. At low revs it is like any engine but with a lot of mechanical noise. However, once the revs go to design range - it is like an injection of adrenaline straight to your veins. It is almost a sexual experience. If you made a video like this in Finland, driving that way, the police would immediately set at least five men with a greenleft party book tracking you. They would leave the murder and rape cases, burglaries and drug gangs ivestigations. They would search you night and day and ultimately they would find you and make an attack in the middle of the night to your house, bang your head to the wall. Two three days would disappear from your life before you would be officially registered as detained. And in the court they would sentence you to years of prison only because they can not sentence you to death. If they could they would dance on your grave and wank around your seized car and praise the god of envy. They would get a six month holiday, of course upkept by the taxpayers before they would return to shifting papers from one stack to another and pretend to be solving murders and rapes. They love rules, regulations, surveillance, spying - control over everything. And this sickenss has spread all over the public system. Long gone, if ever we had free press. Only accepted opinions are allowed in the public. Dont be surprised if I disappear and never existed :)))) Recently the Police had a speeding surveillance campaign with around 200 tickets and the head of Police speeding department demanded more strict punishements - that was from around 35 000 measurements equalling about 6 per mille. And he boasted sometime ago that new automatic cameras will bring at least half a billion a year to the public mafia organisation.
Congrats on the car. And Congrats on the amazing driving skills. Excellent shifts, very smooth. I've owned a 996 C2 and now have a 986 boxster s, my dream is the 997.1 GT3RS. I wish I had roads like yours there! I've subscribed. Please make many many more amazing driving videos.
I watch this video multiple times per day. I have a 99 C4, the gt3 mk1 is my dream car, would take that above anything I think. Driven friends 991 and 992, but prefer the older and more mechanical cars--993 or any air-cooled would be great too.
Congratulations man, I went with a 17 Carrera with the 7spd and got a tune. It is alot of fun but now I want to install a lsd which will be quite expensive. I do wonder if trading mine in for a 996 gt3 would make more sense
@@James_Sovereign I agree 100% but as far as a daily driver, jekyll and hyde type of personality goes, the more modern Carrera with its smoother ride(pasm standard), creature comfort’s like heated seats and car play, and more power lower in the rev range with a stg 1 tune, It does make it for me atleast a better choice since it is my only car
The steering feel is a lot mor harsh than the 1M, and you can feel more understere inte the Porsche, but the steering is realy direct and you feel conected. They are werry similiar, just that the 1M feels just a litle smoother.
@@mafiamada Nope, its completly stock, exept for the H&R suspension. If you are intrested in track cars i can give you a tip on looking for a BMW 1M. If you go to my bio you can find a video of it. Fantastic car for the money, i have just bought som recaro seats and öhlins r&t coilovers for it! Great drivers car!
@@TwistyRoadsSE When I saw S on the license plate I thought either Sweden or Slovenia I'm thinking about getting a 996 MK1 myself the prices are ridiculously good right now around 75-85K at the moment it will go to the moon in the next 5-10 years Look, I already subscribed and I'm sure there are more guys like me who got their shit together and looking for a manual naturally aspirated engine driver's car around 80-100k€ so would you do more videos about her and about the ownership and costs and the good and dark sides of ownership? This video is bonkers by the way I'll watch your other videos too. I promise I'll also get a 940 wagon LoL
@@eusdeenius thank you for the nice words! Well i dont own the 996 GT3 anymore, i now own the BMW 1M and i have a 997 GTS thats coming next week! But 996 is a fantastic car and i think its one of the most reliabell, and espesialy the turbo or GT3. You will be amazed if you get one! And it ceap to run to, a yearly service is around 500-800/USD and it a easy car to work on it yourself. Like brake disk is found for around 400/usd and pads are like 200-300usd, and other than that they are pritty much bullet proff. Insurance was around 90-100usd/month so it was not expensive to own, and i am 24 years old so i think its realy good price. My 997 gts vill cost me 120-130usd/month in insurance so its still good but not like the GT3 But i can try to do a video about the GT3 and the 997 cause they are quite simillar in service cost and reliability :) One dark side if you plan on have it like a road car only, is that it super stiff chassie. Like crazy stiff. You fil every bump realy hard 😎
I really want to buy a 996 Carrera, but the price in Turkey starts at 550,000₺ (65,000$). So if I work for 9 years and don't spend any money, I can buy a carrera :D PLEASE LET ME DIE
If you realy want one, look for finance, i have finance, and i dont regret it, the cars go up i value so you Will most likely get your money back one day when you sell it. :)
