Hey we just did your guide to El Yunque! We loved it thank you so much! There is this path that goes up from the Juan Diego Falls, we climbed it and there is a fork kinda in the beginning that goes left and right, you need to turn left! So you can also add it to your video, cause we climbed up right at the fork and it leads nowhere and is kinda a long way. Also this hike from Juan Diego Falls was really difficult because of mud, water and incline. So maybe also consider introducing levels of difficulty to your guides:) otherwise all went great!

Hey! La Coca is right next to the street so you’ll drive past it and watch it from the sidewalk. There are three waterfalls that you can see in the Juan Diego trail. The first is really small but beautiful and the second one is bigger and also really easy to get to. To get to the third one you’ll need to climb up a pretty steep hill that can get muddy (you can see it on the video) so I wouldn’t suggest this one. The others are pretty easy. Hope you can see them! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷

I love Love LOVE Mt Britton Tower. I love the view, and if you are lucky, you will get some clouds coming through, which pass right at the level of the top of the tower. It literally makes it feel like air conditioning. By the time you get there you are usually a little hot from the hike, and if there are no clouds, it will be hot, and you probably won't want to stay there long. But if you have some clouds, aaaah so cool, breezy, and enjoyable. Makes you just want to hang out up there for a while, enjoying the view from different angles. And as the clouds move, it changes the perspective and view, making for a great experience.
@BriksTravelGuides
@BriksTravelGuides 2 года назад
You perfectly described one of the best feelings you can get while visiting El Yunque. I love seeing clouds roll by every so often, making you feel like you're in the sky only to eventually reveal the wonderful view of the coastline. Amazing feeling!

@BriksTravelGuides
@BriksTravelGuides 3 года назад
Hi Ginger! I have a whole video talking about the rivers and waterfalls near El Yunque and it does include Las Paylas and Las Tinajas. In short, las paylas is easy to get to but can get crowded and las tinajas is harder to get to. You can also consider hiking in the Toro Negro Forest. I plan on making a future video on the hiking alternatives to El Yunque.

@BriksTravelGuides
@BriksTravelGuides Год назад
Hey! Thank you! Depends. If you want someone to point out interesting facts about the rainforest that you otherwise wouldn’t have learned about, then a tour guide would be great! If you’d like to explore the rainforest at your own pace, the you could definitely do it yourself. Another thing to keep in mind is transportation costs. There are tour guides that include transportation. If you go on your own, you’d have to rent a car (which can be expensive) or find another form of transportation. Hope that helps!

@BriksTravelGuides
@BriksTravelGuides 3 года назад
Mia! Thank you so much for your comment and for supporting the channel! I definitely plan on visiting Crash Boat and the Bioluminescent Bay soon! If you want a kid friendly hike in el Yunque you should check out Mt. Britton Trail! It's definitely beautiful and I see many groups of happy families hike it every time I go. I mention it in my video! Also, I suggest buying your entrance ticket to el Yunque ahead of time. Many people are getting left out because they wait till the last minute to buy the entrance ticket. If your whole family is traveling in one car, you'll need just one entrance ticket since one ticket is valid per car. Another misconception is that if you book a specific time slot you need to leave by the end of that time slot. You actually have until the park closes to venture around. Ask the guard at the entrance when the park closes to make sure you have the correct time. They generally close the gate at 6PM. (That was a lot of information but I hope that helps! haha).

@BriksTravelGuides
@BriksTravelGuides 3 года назад
Hey! Thanks for commenting! The road to El Yunque is pretty well kept so a sedan is more than capable. Sometimes if it rains a lot (like last week) the roads can get flooded so it would be better to have an SUV. You really could do either. If you want to be save, go for the SUV.

Hey Kait! From the parking area near the start of the Mt. Britton trail till the top of El Yunque you might take 1 hour and 30 minutes (one way), depending on your pace and how long you stay at Mt. Britton looking at the view. If you were to take the paved road back down from the top of el Yunque to Mt. Britton it might save you 15 - 20 minutes, so coming down through the trail from the top to the parking area might take you 1 hour and 10 minutes if you come down using the paved road. There are trail maps online where you can visualize it better. Hopefully that clears things up a bit! 🙏🏼🇵🇷

@BriksTravelGuides 3 года назад
Hi Mio! Yes, at least at the moment you need a ticket to visit. I’m hoping that after COVID cools down, they’ll increase the limit of people that can book each day. Try to check every other day to book. Remember, each ticket accounts for one vehicle, so if 5 people arrive in one car, you’ll just need one ticket. Also, try to check the day before and early in the day you’re planning to go. If you can’t find tickets, maybe you’d like visiting the rivers and waterfalls near El Yunque. You can learn all about them on the video I’ve made: Top 5 Rivers & Waterfalls Near El Yunque. Hope that helps! 🙏🏼😄🇵🇷

Te aconsejo verificar el dia antes o el mismo dia como a las 8AM porque para ese tiempo liberan mas espacios, pero igual se van rápido. Hey Martine! Depending on how much mobility you have. I would say the easiest is Puente Roto. You’ll park right next to the road and you’re basically right at the river. Next is Juan Diego. It is a very short walk, but you’ll have to go up some stairs so that might not work for you depending on the injury and mobility. The other would be Angelito’s trail, which is like a 10 minute walk on mostly flat surface, though at times you have to go up or down inclines and stairs. Puente Roto would be the best bet. Hope that helps and hopefully you get to enjoy the river! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷

@BriksTravelGuides
@BriksTravelGuides Год назад
Hey! So, the road you go up to El Yunque “ends” near the start of the Mt. Britton trail. From there you walk that trail that leads you to another paved road that only ranges use. On that road you’ll keep walking up until you see a map. If you’re facing the map, to your right you’ll have a short trail that leads you to Mt. Britton. If you’re looking at the map, straight ahead you’ll see a trail that takes you to the peak of El Yunque. To the left of the map you’ll notice the paved road continues. This paved road also takes you to the peak of El Yunque quicker than the trail would. You can choose whatever you like. Hope that helps! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷

@BriksTravelGuides
@BriksTravelGuides 3 года назад
Hey! Thank you so much! The reality is that el Yunque is a very easy place to explore by yourself. There is one road that has several trails that lead you to different areas. If I had to chose, I would go first to Juan Diego Falls because even though it isn’t that big of a waterfall, it is beautiful. After this I would hike up Mt. Britton Train, see the Mt. Britton Tower and after continue hiking up to the peak of el Yunque by continuing Mt. Britton Spur which turns into El Yunque Trail. At the top, enjoy the view and then come back down either through the trail or if you want an easier way down, take the paved road. If you want to refresh after hiking you might want to visit Juan Diego Falls after your hike. If you want to visit a larger river nearby you can visit Angelitos Trail which is close by. I’m making a video soon on the rivers and waterfalls near el Yunque so make sure to subscribe to watch that!

Las Paylas is a little closer to el Yunque than Las Tinajas and it is easier to get to from wherever you park.
