Dr Berg, do you have any idea, I mean, any idea how valuable your videos are? Thank you for your hours and hours of study and research and for synthesizing all the information into a 10 min video. I appreciate it. May you be blessed.
@@Drberg hello sir..can you please do a video on anxiety related tingling and numbness.. could not find much stuff on this. My mum is suffering from numb right hand, right side face and right side tounge since 5 weeks and doctors could not figure out the reason behind..I searched on Google and found that it could be the symptoms of anxiety disorder or hyperstimulation. If you could please provide some information i would be really thankful!!
@@ripanjotkaur1538 Yes, he made a few videos on this. Have you searched “numbness”, on this channel or his website or app. I think at least 5 videos. But his data on healthy keto and intermittent fasting will give most of the improvements.
@@ripanjotkaur1538 you dont have to answer this as I consider it private information. But something that needs to be considered. Did she receive a co vid vac in her right arm? I have a friend with the same symptoms.
I’m 51 and have been doing the 16/8 fasting for 8 months and I’ve lost 68 lbs so far. I still need to lose about 15 or 20 more but I know I can do it with this. Fasting along with cutting out sugar and doing low carbs is the only thing that has ever worked for me.
Same age group, doing the exact same thing 16/8. My doctor felt that was pushing it, but I know myself and I am an either do it or not. Went at the things I knew was too much sugar, just cutting pop (reg & diet) with fasting made a huge difference. Not that I don't have a pop, snacks, but I cut them out of my mindless daily routine, and just being more aware helped. Feel a lot better overall.
One week ago today, i stuck to your 0 sugar, one meal a day, no snacks, keto diet. Already 10 lb Lighter with lots of exercise. 5' 9 1/2, 204 pounds to a 194 pounds. Thank you Dr.
That's fantastic! Congratulations! Dr. Berg would love to hear about your success with Keto! Please use this link to upload your story: www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story Dr. Berg's Support Team.
I can attest to this. Fasting was a huge blessing for me. I had so much more energy and so much less brain fog. I found my appetite to be under better control as well.
Coming from a family of big eaters, fasting has been very hard. Took me a year to make it a disciplined life routine in my life rather than a healthy burden. Body has never felt so good before
@@javier.alvarez764 Try starting with bone broth, then having a little lean meat about an hour later, then having a keto meal. In between, maybe get a walk or other light exercise in (not heavy cardio.) This should provide some help with the surge in ghrelin.
I have hormonal problem. I started intermittent fasting 10:00 -2:00pm eating window and 20 hour fasting window a week ago and I lost 4 kgs. Thanks Dr Berg
@@mirandaandrea8215 yes I was talk full wheat bread with eggs, vegetables and meat in both meals. Once I also ate fruit. Tea twice a day once with breakfast and once in the fasting time. I was using multivitamins and vitamin D.
In Hinduism we used to do "Ekadasi vrat" each month. It is a 24 hours fasting. Means our ancestors were way ahead of time. What today's scientists explore today is already written on our ancient holy books.
Dr. Berg, I was Type 2 diabetic with A1C of 6.7. In 8 months with your advice on keto/if down to 5.7. No longer on Metformin and no longer needing a waiver to extend my Deployment in Kuwait for another 9 months. You have changed my life.

Ok so I have lost 20lbs in 2 months but I fell so much better and learning so much , I have been so over weight for a long time and fasting is easier when you can see you are getting better, thanks
Dr Berg, you truly are the best on public health and your authenticity shows through your educational videos. Transforming lives around the world and also empowering us to question the status quo. Nobel peace prize should go to genuine warm hearted people like you. Please never stop and looking forward to your future content. 🙏🏽
Thank you Dr Berg for using the white board again! I can follow and understand so much better as you point what you’re saying! Yey. I’m intrigued by this topic. Exactly what I needed to help with my getting healthier. Such a good reminder to stick to IF ketogenic regimen! I was up 3 am bc I snacked 2 hrs after OMAD yesterday ( handful of organic macadamias very very expensive and damaging) NO SNACKING! Well I did and I’m paying for it this morning, gained 2 lbs too. Balancing hormones is so misunderstood, and your research 🧐 is so appreciated to better our bodies… now got to put it in practice. Love the solutions you present after the brief whys and how’s….that’s what makes your videos so worthwhile! 🤩thank you for encouraging us to do IF and understanding androgens, circadian…..that was significant in helping me! Thank you for the way you approached each subject section….so that we can easily follow through
Going through menopausal, the only thing I found to work is fasting. Thank you so much for this information! Weight is down. Night sweats gone. Many other benefits. Can't thank you enough.
I m so glad to see this video.. I had requested this topic from ur link in the previous videos.. It gives a better understanding of how things work and how one thing affects the other.. I have been watching ur videos for quite sometime now.. gave up on sugar and started Intermittent fasting and have lost 27 pounds in 8 months now.. overall feeling great.. thanks to u for sharing and putting out all this knowledge and information u have, really appreciate ur efforts.. ur videos really motivates me.. Can't wait to see ur garden videos and the progress u have made so far and the future plans u have for ur garden..been waiting for those videos too..
Dr. Berg I am 58 years old. I went through menopause in my early 50s. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid about 3 years ago and had two glands removed. I discovered your videos about 4 months ago. I started at 208 lbs (June 2022) and today I am 172 lbs (September 2022) by OMAD at least 18 hours between meals, walking 2 miles at least for days a week, cutting out sugar, limiting carbs to 50 mg per day, cutting out grains and cereals, eating only whole foods (no processed foods). Bp is 124/83 (stopped blood pressure medicine), A1C is 5.3. Lots of energy, feel fantastic and I am eternally grateful for your careful explanation on what the issue was regarding sugar, glucose and insulin resistance.
Thank you Dr. Berg for everything, my wife and I have been on IF since January instant to date. We have a lot of improvement in everything, such as weight, A1C and many other metabolic issues, like Blood Pressure and so on. We have been on the OMAD since then. We tried to check on our HOMA IR in Nairobi, Kenya, but we are not sure of the results of accuracy. It was that my Insulin was at 4 out of 16 range. My wife was at 10 out of 16 range, which made us doubt it. Anyway, we are always following your program, which has made us happy and hopeful of life. Thank you once again and always!
Dr.Berg, another informative video, 14 months doing what you teach, KETO/ IF , no more prescriptions for high blood pressure or thyroid… I benefit from your supplements, 18 of them , because I prioritize my health and do not want to be deficient in what my body needs. Low carbs, grass fed , grass finished meat, NO SUGAR, wild caught salmon and sea food, 5 on salad with homemade dressing, organic veggies, electrolytes ACV in my water…I am following your teaching… is there a way for me to find out all levels of vitamins, minerals and trace minerals in my body to keep everything in balance? Thank you very much , you change my health and I am forever grateful to you! God bless you! 😊
It’s simple to track your vitamin levels by just asking your doctor to do labs for the specific vitamin levels and they can order it and this way you will see where your at 💗
You say no more thyroid medication. Are you able to keep your TSH level in the normal range without medication? Can you tell please how long did it take to get rid of synthetic hormones?
@@olgaharriman6222 for me it took about 3 months of consistency to regulate mine but about 6 months before my doctor took me fully off but my levels only required a small dose of Synthroid too so your mileage may vary on that depending on how off your thyroid levels are…
I listened to the Book FAST FEAST REPEAT! What Dr. Berg is saying is 100% correct!!! Intermittent fasting will change your life! My energetic levels are through the roof! I’ve balanced all my hormones and feel great
I just finished low carb intermittent fasting for a month again..i was eating just once.. and the result is amazing...been doing it every alternate month since march..i have lost about 20kg my blood reports are great..i was pre diabetic but nt anymore...its reversed now and i have reversed my fatty liver too..my size has gone down from 3XL to XL and L fr some brands....now m ready to go fr some more fasting ..thx fr tis informative and encouraging vid again Dr.Berg.
I favor three meals a day during the week, in a compressed time period, to get enough protein, and weekend water fasts of 36-72 hours. I switch it up to keep my body guessing. I do resistance training three days a week, fasted, followed by a small amount of lean meat for the meal, and a keto meal about an hour after. On the weekend, while fasting, I get long walks in the sun. PS: I'm about 60 hours fasted right now.
My only gripe about the "intermittent fasting" topic is that people conflate it with time restricted eating. As the name implies, intermittent fasting is-intermittent-so it's not on a fixed schedule. Both work, and I'm developing the impression that intermittency is actually key. So changing it up is good. The basic fundamental is probably to get 12-16 hours of not eating in any time period, but don't get on a schedule.
In Islam, its considered extra reward to fast Mondays and Thursdays and the three full moon days of the month. So I do this in combination of keto and feel great thank God!
Thank you for this informative video. You are such a good teacher: succinct but with the right pace of speech and enough detail to feel informed and motivated. I'd like to try this but have some concerns I'm really hoping you will address for me personally. I have several severe adrenal fatigue and several autoimmune diseases including celiac, vitiligo and thyroiditis. I have to be careful to keep my blood sugar stable or I start to feel bad. I am a 54-yr-old female who just went through menopause and also have chronic S.I. joint and sciatica pain, but to look a me you'd never know how I struggle with my health. I make all my food from scratch and eat very well, no gluten, no dairy, very low sugar and carbs. I would so appreciate your guidance. Thank you for all you do for so many of us! God bless you and your family.
I started IV after 4 miscarriages and harmonal imbalance.. Pcos... Now I am losing weight after 4 months about 6kg. Hoping for the best result. Thanks Dr berg.
Always love the topics that involve fasting! Can’t wait for the video on the autonomic nervous system, I could use a little less fight or flight and a little more rest and digest. Thank you Dr. Berg!
Really want to thank you for your videos as you helped save my life. Just recently getting divorced I had to fight depression and you helped me turn my life around and habe lost 36kg. I tell e v everyone about you that asks how I do it. Thanks from South Africa
Thank you. Intermittent fasting is something I hope to pick up again. Fasted a few years back and I am sure that helped me get through a difficult period.
Im 43yo and had pre diabetes despite looking healthy/normal. After doing the kind of fasting u recommended, things slowly started turning around for the better and my Testosterone FOR SURE increased. I know this 100% because i was waking up from sleep like the way a 18yo guy normally does (with full flag raised) lol And i also suddenly got horney several times a day like when i was a teen. This had not happened since my mid twenties. And after i started back up lifting in the gym (had a 3 year injury/depression break) i got strong really fast and had no problem building muscle. I had lost most of my muscle mass in those 3 years prior.
@@mikewhite8848 Exactly. When i was young and was trying to build as much muscle as possible, i remember trying out those testosterone boosters. It was pills promissing to boost your natural test. But little did i know of how important sleep is for uptimal testosterone production and the right food and also AVOIDING the bad food and sugars. Plus doing fasting ofc. This way i manage to boost my testosterone back to my early youth in my later years and not needing to pay some pill producer for a product that does not work. Especially if you are not already also doing the above to begin with. Knowledge is power.
I’m glad I found this video. My 7 Year old daughter is experiencing precocious puberty and I don’t want to put her into medication or injection to slow it down until reaches the right age. Thank you Dr. Berg.
As someone who absolutely hates cooking it was incredibly easy to adapt to intermittent fasting. You mean I save time and money by being out of the kitchen AND reap health benefits? Count me in! I just wish I wasn't so prone to stress and didn't rely on sugar as my streets relief so much.
Absolutely true! It was also helpful during the year I had a back injury and had to do either surgery or Chiropractic therapy for a year. I chose therapy! It was painful at first but it worked! My back/spine is better than ever! Fasting helped hold down the inflammation and got me started on my fasting journey. Now menopause is easier to get through without all the debilitating symptoms.
Excellent content as always!! Do you have a video about fasting and autoimmune diseases? Benefits, effects, contradictions, etc. I would love to get some insights on that topic from you Dr. Berg!
Fasting takes guts, self-discipline and thats what some dont even have a clue about! Emotial eating is better choice for them, feelin’ sorry for themselves….as shown in previous videos this man is an execellent example of himself being unhealthy at school times but he made it! Everyone can but first embrace the truth and stop dreaming but start doing sth about it!
Thank you Dr. Berg. This video has made my day so joyful. To learn and be grateful to the doctor who never hesitate to share informations about health is a blessing. ❤💯
I got into fasting 6.5 years ago after reading Dr. Jason Fung's book on fasting. I also ate keto at that time and 5 years ago I started eating a carnivore diet. I IF daily because it comes naturally. I haven't noticed any changes in my health doing that. I started it to lose weight which I only did when I fasted for days and after that half the weight came back once I started eating again. Fasting is easy when you are not dependent on carbs. My longest fast was 14 days and I could have gone for longer.
Currently doing ADF after 30 days of OMAD. I think the OMAD has ultimately helped me get used to going without food for an extended period of time so ADF isn’t actually as difficult as it would have been if had I jumped into it right away. With that said, it’s still fairly difficult which is why I’m only doing it for a month.
Dr Fung likes ADF, but I found it difficult, in the same way Dr Berg describes. It's easier for me to start on the weekend and take long walks to kill the hunger (very effective) then just keep fasting for a while. Delaying breakfast is easy for me, though, as was skipping it, but I decided I needed more protein after losing over 100 pounds.
Adf seemed to help me budge those last several pounds more than anything else I've tried. Something about the "you can eat that tomorrow " mentality helps me. I can do anything for a day! Omad just seems to slow my metabolism over time. I can't really do adf for more than 2 to 4 weeks though it's very intense!
@@michellepascale2934 OMAD is basically calorie restriction without the counting or the hassle. It’s very intuitive. But it’s still calorie restriction so you’re right, you base metabolic rate would probably drop after about a month, which is why I switched to ADF, which is pretty intense.
🥑 Fasting is great! Women, just make sure you're eating enough calories at mealtime. Our hormones are very sensitive to perceived starvation. If you don't eat enough (due to fasting or otherwise) you can really freak out your cycle or lose it all together.
at my 50s after practicing Fasting ( around 13 hours here in Indonesia, currently from 4:46 AM to 5:58 PM Bogor, West Java Time)both Obligatory (Ramadan)+Non Obligatorily (twice a week Monday & Thursday and Monthly three days in a row on the full moon in the middle of Lunar Month)+Listening& try my best Practicing Dr.Eric Berg's advice, I am free from inflammation problems (Back pain and Joint pain) that hit me at 40s. Carbo diet is Indonesian diet: rice, noodle, sweet tea& coffee, variety of fries food and sweet cookies, I reduced it gradually not even entered to Keto diet yet but the inflammation has gone....thank Dr.Berg
Can confirm, ceteris paribus. One thing fasting taught me is how much eating is habit and a social cue. When you realize everyone else around you is eating, but you're not hungry and feel awkward for fasting.
Works really well for me. I started getting migraines at one point due to unstable blood sugar levels. I tried IF and the migraines no longer happen. Been doing IF for 8 months. I fast for 23 hours and eat within the 1 hour window.
Thank You So Much Dr B, I Lost 45 Pounds. I eat everyday at (6:00-6:15) in the afternoon. Next day same routine, before I eat I'm doing HIIT cardio jogging push-ups jump rope and the next day its weight training. When I eat in the 15 min window it's only salmon or chicken breast ( no salt)cruciferous vegetables . When I fast I only drink mint water or green and turmeric tea. TY
You are my GO TO GUY!!!!! Dr Berg, we are always on the same page with health related issues! Thank you for speaking about IF and HASHIMOTOS! I've heard that it's dangerous for hashi patients and it didn't make sense to me/ I love your explanation! I've been IF for a few years and recently went to omad and feeling great!! And I've lost those stubborn last few pounds! Less is better!! Thanks again! 🙏🙂🍽
Thank you best I’ve felt in 12 years - was taking Zyrtec d for last 5 years because of “allergies” it was chronic stress and inflammation from poor diet - and I’m not over weight Started intermittent fasting in May feel 15 years younger insane energy and massive reduction in inflammation
My wife and daughter went on vacation one week ago and I had to stay back due to work. For some reason; them being gone and coming home to an empty house saddened me to the point where I had no appetite. I didn't eat for two days straight. But amazingly after the first day; I started to notice my hunger was decreasing and my energy levels stayed the same. So I began from that point: 5 days a week I stay on a 20/4 fast and consume less than 1000 calories a day. On the weekends I eat a bit more but not in excess. Also light exercise 5 days a week. When they left I was 225 lbs at 5' 8" tall; as of today I'm 200 lbs. I was in shock; 25 lbs in one week? That can't be healthy. But I feel great and am still energetic every day. 🤷♂️
IF is the way to take care of our bodies. Everything they taught us is false with 3 meals a day and small snacks. I remember hearing people that have diabetes, that their doctors told them to eat small meals throughout the day. 😵 We are getting good advice here if we choose to listen.

Congratulations on your success with Keto/ IF! This is amazing! Dr. Berg would love to hear your success story. Would you like to share it? Feel free to upload your story here: www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story -Dr. Berg's Support Team
I do random fasting. So sometimes I do 48 hours followed by one meal keto, then another 48 hours fasting. Sometimes I do 72 hours fasting on its own. Sometimes I do a 5 day fast. I try to do a basic 18:6 daily fasting regularly. A Out of what I do is based on how I’m feeling, weight and current diet. If I have eaten processed foods or desserts then I try to do a longer fast. Just remember to replace those minerals on long ones.
Do what you’re inspired to do with fasting. Some people can get great results with TRE, but others need longer fasting, like ADF three days a week. There are lots of people with an extensive history of dieting and metabolic issues; these are often the people who need longer fasts. Dr. Fung and Megan Ramos often call this the “gold standard” of fasting. And, then, if you’ve got things going on like cancer or autoimmune, extended fasting can work wonders. Dr. Seyfried, who talks about metabolic causes of cancer, often suggests 14-day fasts. Dr. Boz put her mother on a 40-day water fast when she was diagnosed with cancer.
Excellent advice Doc. Your intermittent fasting and other advice has been instrumental in my getting back to my ideal weight over the past 3 years. Losing weight slowly and steadily is much better tban rapid loss which is unhealthy and unsustainable. We really appreciate the advice.
I'm only 31 and 170lbs so i don't need to lose any weight, but i have weird, undiagnosed issues with digestion, lack of energy and bloating/gas that trigger other things as anxiety, stress and high blood pressure. I used to eat breakfast and snacks inbetween meals just to keep my energy/blood sugars up just to feel normal but now after experimenting with IF i feel much better when skipping snacks and breakfast and instead focus on just eating well (2-3 times) between 12-7pm. I was afraid of being hungry before, but now i know that feeling passes and it's not actually dangerous at all. My mental state is so much more level and calm when i'm fasting as well.
Some people binge Netflix. I’ve been binging on your videos for over a month. Started keto a little over a month ago and seeing results! The hardest part was letting go of Dairy Queen, pizza and sushi 🍣
Thanks so much for this. I’m a Hashimoto’s sufferer. At times I just can’t get going. I can totally do this and understand it. With that you gave me a great key !
I do fasting everyday but only a 14-hour fast I don't eat usually after 7:00 p.m. and I usually have breakfast at 9:00 a.m. after my workout 5 days a week and then on the weekends sometimes I don't eat until 10:00 a.m. dont work out sat. and Sunday. that's what works for me I think everybody's got to find what works best for them
Hi doc. I am a 39Y physically active male. I've been fasting for over 2 years now, and it has done wonders to my overall health. But my reported testosterone levels have seen a 25%-30% drop. Although no change in my energy levels and my muscle mass has certainly increased (I actively work out 5 days a week)
I tried it and I got so sick... And yes you maybe thinking I did something wrong but I have read one year how to do it right. And still I got pretty sick! What happened is that my body somehow shut up, fist symptoms were that I felt so much hunger, that I want to throw up. My stomach was in pain and then I loss consciousness. I luckily did tell my doctor before fasting and he gave his ok when I woke up in hospital, I had a saline solution in my arm. I told my doctor how I started and he said that I did everything right, but my body wasn't ready. Even I prepared it for this procedure! So it can be dangerous, even you do everything right! I still don't give up on fasting, but I think I will only do the preparation process, as in that time I felt awesome. In the preparation time I didn't eat solid food and this was a very good time for my body.
8/16 seems to work well for me. I am a recovering vegan who had mold exposure. Spring water. Sea salt. Intermittent fasting. Fresh healthy beef. You have literally saved my life. My Dr's were not very helpful and as much as they tried to listen it was not preventative or restorative care. I was given the opposite advice. Stress wreaked havoc but honestly what I ate was killing me. I was applauded for being a vegan. I was praised. I was sick. Yet celebrated. Super weird! Thank you Dr. Berg!
There is a Paper of a Japanese Doctor that speaks About Autophagy and he speaks about this, also that paper helped me understand how to control my Crohn Disease with Fasting. Fasting is almost magical, and few people practice it.
Thank you for this! I do alternate day fasting along with OMAD, and it’s all been by healthy Keto, to the best of my ability. Quality versions of low carb foods are expensive, but these and the fats have been working for me, so far, but I can make adjustments.
Thank you. As a gluten free vegan OTR trucker starting IF this is helpful. Could you create a IF playlist because it's do much convenient to follow rather than scrolling through years of posted videos?
Hi Berg, I like fasting too! My favorite fasts are the 16/8, which I currently do about 3 days a week, and less frequent multi-day fasts of 2-7 days. So far my record is 6 days fasting. I want to try 10 days at some point, but I'll have to get a bit fatter before I try that! 😅
I'm 37 years old, I control my portions, I eat just a little carbs, I walk daily and have gained weight non-stop for the past 2 years. I had blood work around a year ago and nothing came back abnormal. I hope this works.
Are you sleeping properly? Are you stressed out? Sometimes stress (both mental and physical ones like worry, anxiety, frustration, insomnia, etc) will cause abdominal fat to get increased. (Speaking from my own experience)... After resolving stress, weight becomes optimal
Same thing happened to me!! Listen to the book FAST FEAST REPEAT!! What he’s saying is 100% true!!! It’s changed my life!!! Intermittent fasting is the KEY!!!!!
I've lost 80 pounds in a year by eating from 11 am to 4 pm and mild exercise. 32 y.o. female, from 255 to 175. The price I paid is I got stones in my gallbladder, so I had to have it removed. Still worth it!
I started by not grazing through out the day to, just eating 3 meals a day. Then started not eating till 9/9:30 AM not eating again till 5/6 PM. My goal is to eat once a day. What I found out that if I over eat now, I get a sick feeling in my stomach. Which I believe is a spike in insulin. However, feeling much better and the gut is SLOWY decreasing Vs going to the gym and beating my body into submission. I do exorcise 2 to 3 time as week. Hiking and biking in the summer and ski instructing in the winter....Figure your self out. You will feel much better
