www.sharkwerks.com/engine/p38... Joe Rogan & Matt Farah drive both the Shark Werks Porsche 997 GT3RS 3.9 & 4.1 and give their takes after driving and living with them.
Just saying everyone has a different sense of humor. I made a comment saying "i did not know thats what a demonic whale sounded like." That was the joke i was going for. A play on words.
@@MassiveBig Yet here you are claiming it was 'humor' . But going from his username we can assume english is not his native language and he might not know the word 'wail'.
this is still my favorite Porsche build to date. I love how happy and excited Matt is and the way Joe describes the engine sound at 8800 rpm still gives me goose bumps. Great car!
@gOtze1337 yeah it would need a different tune but it would be way cooler if it had a fat inter cooler and a big old turbo for the top end. The stroke will take care of the bottom end
Honestly DS the 3RS is the best car ever. I am a devoted ///M fan but my RS is on another planet compared to my luverly e90M3 (which is modded with Tune ecu and dct/BBK/Akra/Ohlins/ Vorsteiners.....) and now deceased e46M3.
I saw one of these drive next to me.... I was screaming inside my car because the sound was soo good! I was insanely impressed from my car and even when this Porsche was pulling away, it wounded amazing... its the best sounding car I've ever heard.
Rogan in 2019 on his Tesla 😁: "There's not a single car that I've ever driven that's even close to as fast.... Nothing! My Porsche is so slow!! I have a GT3RS, it has 518 HP. It weighs 3000lb - it sounds like a dragon. And that Tesla would leave it in the dust. I mean LEAVE IT IN THE DUST!!" But yeah, it's a totally different type of car. Definitely the Porsche in the Canyons.
Milos at CAELYNX FEA I disagree, he’s owned all kinds of really cool stuff. Icon Bronco ffs. That corvette. Gt3rs. If that doesn’t make you a car guy, nothing does.
@@jps3903 I think by car guy he means that he doesnt build cars himself. He absolutely has a great appreciation and understanding, and while i would disagree and say that Joe Rogan is a car guy, i can understand the idea behind him not really being a car guy. Im obviously assuming that this is what Milos meant, but i cant think of any other reason to discredit his position as a car guy other than his lack of hands on experience with building and tuning.
Jay Kwod I’m not an artist, does that mean I can’t appreciate the Mona Lisa? Obviously this is just us hypothesizing about a dude we don’t know, but it definitely seems his car guy credentials are legit. Pretty sure he had a hemi cuda as well. I give the dude props for not owning a lime green Lambo when he was on fear factor.
@@jps3903 I know. I agree with you, as stated in my post. I was simply playing devil's advocate to explain why I assumed that Milos discredited Joe as a car guy.
@@flipdawhip2573 Yeah, I'm sure road regulations are the top of every democrat's policy priorities right now... I don't know how you see a comment like that and turn it political, lol.
I keep coming back to this review, probably one of the most excited of Matt's drives. Both cars are spectacular, but the sound of the 4.1 is just perfect. Modern day Singer.
I love this video. Matt's enthusiasm totally made my day. Only bummer is that it's an old video that we only now get to watch. Cool cars. Great Video. Thanks for sharing!
Darren Waller Go on, let us know how much £ and what power and torque it will run! Would they send you an exchange engine or do you have to send yours away?
Damn... That’s the best sounding 997 gt3 I’ve ever heard. Just amazing! Great job sharkwerks! Nothing sounds better than Naturally aspirated motor. Listen to all the amazing sounds. The Lexus LFA, Porsche cerrera GT, Ferrari v10, late 70s American V8s all naturally aspirated and all have legendary exhaust notes.
Is this an old video that was not published? He mentions the 991 gt3 can’t get a manual. But they have had a manual gt3 out for awhile now. Multiple points of the video make it sound like this was shot from 2012-2016, when the 991 only had pdk.
The dude's 5ft 8 or 9 if you think about it,it's the perfect size for a car guy to be,you can literally fit in all cars including vintage 60s 70s LeMans prototype race cars.
I’m wondering if they’re achieving the higher displacement by being super oversquare. Maybe they balanced it for higher rpms but I find it interesting that they seem to have gone for lower redline/larger displacement instead of raising the limit and going undersquare like a race engine.
I drove a 911 turbo S and I said the exact same thing! “How is this legal!” The power band came on in stages 1-3k is damn! 3-5k is insanity and 5-7k is demonic!! Your the man joe! Also sharkwerks! 😎
Yes. Used to be a paid video only. Never wanted to pay for it. I'm assuming since the old /DRIVE is no more (TV show on NBC now) they let Sharkwerks upload this.
Joe and I look at cars the same. NSX was always my dream car, raw and special, feedback of all types. I always felt the same way about the GT3 because it is even more raw. And what he said about manual transmissions was music to my ears.
Chris hasn't been with this crew for close to 2 years (basically all BBC / Top Gear now). This video is almost 2 years old IIRC. I do like Matt, but hate what has happened to the /Drive group in general.
The 997 seems to be the last purist and analog Porsche has made. Let’s see how the values are for all the 911 997 models are in 5 years. I estimate they double with Matt F saying it’s the best car he has ever driven!
Are we supposed to ignore the fact that they leave the suspension, brakes, body, etc., etc. alone and, basically, only add 85hp? For $60,000! Are they using flawless diamonds as baffles in the new exhaust? Sheesh.
Christopher - Yeah, not a dig at Sharkwerks or, certainly, Porsche. I grew up in Europe and have had a lifelong love of the brand my entire 49 years. I even drove a 1988 Slantnose 911 in college (drove, not owned - haha). I totally get these tuner companies trying to make as much profit as they can, my daily driver is a Hennessey Z06, but $60K seemed a little excessive for the modifications they mentioned. Maybe someone misspoke or didn't mention all the mods done to the car. That being said, I've heard stories of some Ferrari owners paying thousands for an oil change. It's just oil! Cheers.
Every time I learn something new about Joe, he earns my respect even more. Not that it matters but yeah. I mean, a Supra then NSX? My dream would be to own a Supra but also so many other Japanese imports. The 90s were incredible for Japanese cars.
