This video explains some of my thoughts on how I approach playing Rick in Multiversus. Upon watching, you'll be able to pick him up and play at a good level.
You have to double tap the portal to open up a singular portal, but it's not possible mid combo. Your opponent won't be in hitstun long enough to open it up and continue your combo.
That whole perk is dumpster juice any good player will not let you charge for a second i tried it and even the bottom barrel of players just dodge spam
I wouldn't put it in a video if it doesn't consistently work against the best players on the game. You probably just need to mix up your options more effectively.
@@Achromics your MMR has to be pretty low to use this consistently I tried it in a tournament and got mopped if this was working against the best players in the game Wisp, Leviathan, Hustle, Ninjakilla, Gus, or Void would've made a video about this already each of them dedicated an entire stream to play testing characters in labs an not one is sending in a ticket for Rick to be touched he's the most mid tier I've ever seen in any platform fighter a hard C+ at best
@@ChinesePeter445 I think you got mopped because you don't mix up your options effectively. There's no shame in getting embarrassed in tournament but coping in my comment section won't take those losses away unfortunately. Hope this helps.
@@ChinesePeter445 There are so many times in fighting games that someone has completely flipped a meta by utilizing what seems like a flawed tool effectively. Certain moves/perks certainly lend themselves to seeming non-comp, but if you can figure out how utilize things like the portal, meeseeks and polymorph to force your opponent into a 50/50 choice between full charged up tilt and whatever other option I just mention you can create situations where you either guarantee one of these strong options or the opponent has to commit a significant resource to reset to neutral.
@@jedduchene1525 I'm just specifically talking about the perk not ricks entire kit himself agreed yea you can flip meta but this doesn't seem to be the case not too long ago I tried using this against some top players like stevelaflame and hustle but I just get punished for every time I try to charge it up mid combo I'll jab jab thn try to charge the up attack get punished or I'll jab thn side air and go for it again and just get down spiked on
