Great tips! I LIKED your comments on using smelly jelly to add scent and to lubricate the plastic. I like to add smelly jelly to the first couple of feet of line and also to lubricate my knots before tightening them down.
Great great great great video. I haven’t seen another video on RU-vid like this. Very much appreciate the tip and insight. You’re channel deserves so much more recognition. Keep bringing us the awesome content.
Mr. B Was out this morning throwing the Mr B Chatterbait in the wind. Fishing was tough but I know it will not be long before that bait pays off. Stay tuned. Right now the only bait on the delta is the senko.
Great video Steve. 👍🏻 Best I’ve seen tips wise in awhile thats not just rehashed content. I’m headed out Monday mid morning launching at Paradise. Hoping for a good one. Maybe I’ll see you out there.
Thanks Dave and when you see this bait in the water I think you will really like it. Make sure to keep the bait in view and twitch it a few times to check out the action. I'm thinking the same thing-the fish don't see this presentation so it should be really good in hard it water.
I'm gonna try this tomorrow, Steve. Today was tough out there. 1 fish on a frog (only 3 bites all day and all came on a frog. I guess if you are only gonna get a fish on a frog, that's a pretty good way to go!). I tried lots of worms and senko approaches. But, lots of vegetation so I really like this technique. Interesting that you said you were using mono. For some reason I thought you used flouro for your leader on worms. Thanks a bunch!
Great tips. Love your channel. I landed a 7.25 and a 8.1 this week in the Tracy Triangle area off of beds. Im on the water weekly. You have a spot we can post pics/reports ?
I have not tried that. I have tried using a nail weight inserted into the center of the worm at the divot. The rig cast great-sinks fast and has great action. Give that a try and let me know what you think.
That depends on your casting ability. It really helps to make a longer than normal cast so using lite or no breake. You can also use a med hvy spin rod-just need the back bone to set hook.
Thank you. Senkos are my #1 subsurface bait. I remain a novice and have a questions. Q1: Why use a worm hook instead of an EWG? (T-rig) Q2: Is there no benefit to the "keel affect" it ... allegedly ... provides? Q3: Does it even PROVIDE ... a "keel affect"?
Simple answer to many questions. I like the in line hook because I think I get better hook sets. EWGs are good and I have used them a lot. If you have confidence In the EWG there is no reason not to use them.
Here's the set up. Use your standard worm rod. 55 or 65 lb braid with about 6 to 8 ft of 16 tp 20 lb mono leader. Thants my set up. You can go with full mono or floro line - 16 to 20 lb test but I like the no stretch of braid. The mono leader helps with the action of the worm. Hope that helps.
“Use your standard worm rod, 50 or 65lb braid…” y’all Delta boys are a different breed! Lol Thanks for the great video-I’m going to try this around my local heavy cover lake!
