I bought an amazon copy years ago. Less sophisticated bug still works. Those small canisters are the most pricey but compact and enough for lightweight weekend trips. I found the 2 larger size canisters and better value and empty those into the small ones. Paint is wearing off em now due to so many refills. 😅 Check valve for leakage after😮wards in soapy water . Great idea. Thanks for sharing
This one looks a hell of a lot better made than the cheapo ones I've seen on the Arabian Nights website. Don't think I've seen one with a pressure release valve before, either. I'd suggest only refilling a can once, mind. But I'm tempted, I've got about 7 semi-full gas cans in my cellar as we speak and working out which one to take out for a trip gets to be more time consuming than the rest of my packing.
it makes use of the "ideal gas" law : (P1xV1)/T1 = (P2xV2)/T2. The "intelligence" of the adapter is a "non-return valve", so at the beginning you have a big pressure/potential differential taking full profit of the above mentioned laws, the non-returnvalve stops this "law" to find the perfect equilibrum but give us a max "profit" ... Usefull or gadget? ... if you have a "big canister" at home and use your stove a lot, yes I think it is. for me (1 canister every 1-2 years) more a gadget as on my trip I am never far away from "civilisation" to buy a new one (or worst case go to a restaurant)
I'm confused, you started with 2 canisters, 1 weighed 7.4 ounces (3:30) which is the full weight, the other you didn't weigh but you said it had some in it. You ended with one canister at 6.7 ounces (6:00), and 1 that was at 3.9 ounces (5:33) which is the empty weight. So where did the at least .7 ounces of gas go?
The one that was 7.4 ounces was a brand new one just to show how much it weighs when it is full. If you notice on the table, I’ve got four canisters in front of me at the beginning of the video.
Hope that makes sense. Sorry for the confusion. I had a large canister that I never used. I had a full canister at 7.4 ounces and I had two other canisters that were less than half full. I married the two less than half full together. It would’ve been helpful for the viewer if I would’ve weighed the less than half ones as well just to show the starting point.🤦♂️
