OMG, Ace, way to speak your mind, man! Seriously, though he's done some things, well a lot of things, to deserve criticism, ya still gotta love him. Dude is TOTALLY entertaining.
The incident with Eric and the female photographer was classic. It shows how trusting he was and it was a trait that he never lost and from what i heard he was always a kind and trusting person.
I remember clearly when Eric Carr joined Kiss. He was instantly accepted by the fans, and he always looked great. Cool and natural. He managed to follow Peter Criss with no problems what so ever. The guitarists who came on board after Ace left, never did as well as Eric.
You've not heard of Bruce Kulick? More professional than Frehley and a better guitarist. Vinnie Vincent, too, unquestionably the most talented guitarist KISS ever had and a formidable songwriter. Without him, KISS wouldn't have made a comeback. Both were accepted by fans, at least the fans I knew. So was Mark St. John for that matter. Sure, a few romanticized Ace like people do now, but they didn't mind the change, especially when most knew Frehley wasn't on the records anyway.
@@eclecticx Bruce Kulick has my utmost respect in every way. What I'm saying is that maybe it took it little longer for Bruce to gain the acceptance from the fans. In the case of Eric Carr the fans took to him from the first beat he played. But then, Kiss had a much higher profile in 1980 than in 1984 when Bruce joined. I also agree that Vinnie Vincent was an absolute key player in Kiss' 1983 comeback.
@@lysaarvideo I don't know if this reflects on acceptance, but some funs chuckled about Bruce and his lack of stage presence in the beginning. Dude would stand still as a tree. LOL Same couldn't be said of Vincent. He got around on stage. Had KISS not dropped the makeup when they did, there might have been some resistance to him. Maybe the band wouldn't have made the comeback even with him had they kept the makeup. The makeup was played out at that time. St. John's tenure was so brief, it's hard to say whether there was resistance to him, but Animalize sold really well, really quickly. I was at one of the few shows he did. That guy had serious potential. Anyway, I guess whether resistance was notable depended on the fanbase, those who became fans in the 70s vs. the 80s. The fans I knew were of the latter. They knew about the makeup days, of course, but were too young to have really gotten into the band in the 70s.
@@eclecticx I saw Kiss with Bruce on the European tour i Denmark in October 1984. Paul Stanley was as always the dynamo, but Bruce was NOT standing still on stage. He was on fire.
Great that Ace had the last word. Paul admits to what a control freak he really is by gloating over the fact that when Peter left Ace had less say in the band because he lost an ali in decision making, the Elder being a good example of what shitty decision making skills Paul actually showed he had.
@@kissdiaries I can't wait! These are really good (and funny). I hope you get through at least the non makeup years. Reunion would provide plenty more Ace and Peter drama. But even if you go to the end of the road, Gene and Paul never run out of stupid arrogant things to say that can make us all laugh. 😅
They talk of Eric as getting a Porsche as a "welcome to the family" but what they don't mention is they have him that Porsche instead of songwriting royalties.
I remember the first photo I seen of Eric in Kiss was the cover for an issue of people magazine summer of 1980. Being only 11 at the time I accepted that Peter was out and Eric was in but, I still didn't like Unmasked. 😆
Eric was a genius hire.. Paul and gene liked he'd work for a check and be happy. The fans got someone who WAS THEM a year earlier.. so he was beyond cool when Paul and gene didn't give af and went back stage to women. Eric would go hang with the fans.. Paul calls him a "Schmuck" for that.. which seriously makes no sense.
Gene,Paul GROW UP !!!!!! Ace GROW UP too!!! 👿 You used Eric's uncertainty of things against him 😡 You pushed him over the edge, eventually killing him😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Praying that you are ALL punished for ALL of you " ways" with Eric and everyone else you have tormented 😈😈😈😈😈 You will ALL be repaid according to your works, and there is NO PARTIALITY 👿👿👿👿👿👿
Peter était trop vrai, franc et honnête et certain oublient qui a payer les tournées avec sa CB hypothéqué sa maison 🏠 et eux voulaient virer le manager, Peter leur à rappeler tout ça 👍
11:45 yep, like I say to all the Paul haters out there callin him gay, I tell em to just look at Ace. Ace is the gay guy- not Paul.. It doesnt matter, but those who accuse Paul Stanley of being gay need to reconsider their views
@@kissdiaries thats what I said. "It doesn't matter" I wrote that.. And as I said also, it's just a reply to the Paul Stanley haters who call him gay when their favorite member Ace is actually the one who is gay or bi.. I was pointing out their hypocrisy n ignorance. Plus, ur the one who showed Ace kissing that dude and Gene talking about it. U brought it up, not me
