You should make something with a MIG jet style nose. Would it work to have a hollow body with an inline propeller? The air would be flowing through-ish the plane, entering through the front, being accelerated, and exiting from the back. I love your videos!

This quad has survived so much it's incredible, so in that sense I agree that it's a great quad to learn on, I've improved so much. The other side to that is that it's so small and compact that it takes some effort to make things fit. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

Well It will challenge my soldering skills. Thanks for the tip. I do have a little doubt, do you recommend I invest a lot of money in a transmitter like the taranis and use an sbus receiver or buy a cheap flysky transmitter and go through hell soldering cables to the pwm connectors? Because I am quite a cheapskate but I am a little concerned with the latency and with the range

I am also cheap and I don't have a Taranis, though that is what everyone recommends. Flysky does have a version of s-bus called i-bus which is supported by betaflight. There are cheaper options with serial receivers, but that's an area I don't have a lot of experience with yet.

Very descriptive video. It's not to include commentary and build info instead of freestyle footage by itself. Also, I'd suggest trying out www.rotorbuilds.com. It makes it very easy for people to find the parts you used

Stock Pid's pretty much always work great these days. Only change them if there is a problem. I'm using Raceflight. Rates are 71 for pitch roll and yaw. make sure to also set your motor idle speed. Let me know if you don't know how to do that. I can give you the raceflight firmware that I'm using if you want. But I've just been trying Betaflight 3.0 and it's awesome. If you use raceflight I put 30% expo on the transmitter for pitch and roll, but for Betaflight they already have tons of expo so I removed transmitter expo. Also what speed controller are you using?

I think the Kabab 5 is out of stock now. Check out his latest creation called the hyperlite frame sold at pyrofliprc. I haven't used the power cube so I wouldn't know

These are made for maximum performance and thus battery life is about 4 minutes. So we take a lot of batteries, but you'd be surprised how long 4 minutes is when flying one. See my newest video for improved flying skill

It's arbitrary. I much prefer Degrees per second. I think my setting might be close to 720 DPS

Basically, less blades = less grip on the air. (I assume you mean two blade props instead of four blade.)

I guess it depends on personal preference. Just about every freestyler uses three blades and most racers use three or four. I guess it depends on what you prefer.

Could you please turn on superview on your gopro when you fly fpv? It gives more Fov and is nicer to watch :D

+Awquad the gopro I've had is the hero 3 white. Limited to 1080p @ 30fps. No superview and pretty dull sensor. I'm looking to upgrade ASAP. Trying to find cheap hero 4 black. Not much luck. Maybe I'll just get the new 5

Samm Sheperd the hero 5 black may not be the best Gopro for Fpv, as it is bigger and weighs more than any other gopro. I'm not sure if any of the session cameras can support super-view, but if they can that would be the best option.

+reub razmuzen I'm using a tactic radio but the Taranis is preferred. And I'm using the headplay HD's which I do like but they have a bit of latency and the huge screan stretches the already low resolution out. I flew with some dominator v3's and felt much more comfortable and in control

I totally understand that too. Proper tools makes a world of difference. Good 60/40 rosin core solder and an iron with enough heat. Also tweezers are awesome

and kinda hard to believe, actually. i wonder what its weight is. doubt it's under 600g, hd camera included. and doubt these 5' props can generate 1350g each, especially with the extra area of this particular frame. i'd love to see a scale test though.

I just went and measured everything again. Fully built with no battery: 286g. Battery: 140g. AOW: 429g. It's been tested that the motors produce 1.22kg static thrust each with 5050 props. I'm using 5040 props so I just assumed 1kg each.

***** that's lighter than i expected. i believe you. still, your action camera plus its mount will certainly leave it above 500g. also, you're not factoring the thrust lost to the area of the frame and the resulting turbulence, or the voltage drop from the small battery under load. these factors are difficult to predict, yet quite significant. the only way to determine would be to test the whole assembly with a scale, really. i believe it'd result in something between 6 and 7:1. (which is still awesome, don't get me wrong)

CNL _ The camera mount is only a battery strap, but yes the GoPros weigh a lot in comparison and the frame's interference drag is definitely a factor.

just plugged mine in to a 4s and the 5v BEC circuit popped, no solder bridges, and it ruined that cheesy ripoff f3 FC.

Samm Sheperd I got it working again using a 5v car usb. Somehow whatever popped switched it to 12v. All my solder connections were good so I have now idea what caused it

If one flips 180 degrees and throttles into full reverse, can it hover upside down? The props don't pull as well as they do push in that orientation, I'm guessing. I just imagine that if you had enough power-- maybe.

Ah damn, yeah I checked out the Hyperlite, it looks very fierce but the gopro session which I'm getting will be overly exposed on it. So I did some more research and came across the Shendrones Corgi which is built to encase a Go-pro session, so I went with that. The Corgi is such a sxc looking frame!
