Magnesium Glycinate, K2 & D3 will cure calcific tendonitis. Why ortho's don't even talk about this w patients & jump right to shots & surgery pisses me off. It's all about the money$
I have excellent vitamins/supplements recommended by my practitioner they are the best of the best! A few brands are Biotics Research, Standard Process, Food Research, Designs for Health, Klaires Labs etc... I would never use over the counter vitamins/supplements sourced from China as you don't know what you're getting & could cause more harm than good

Magnesium changed my life. I had debilitating insomnia and anxiety, and would almost always be awake for several days straight with literally 0 minutes of sleep before finally passing out 16+ hours. Desperate, I went to a naturopathic doctor who told me to go on a low histamine diet and supplement with magnesium. Within one month I began sleeping restfully every night, and my anxiety nearly completely disappeared. It’s been several years, and I still take magnesium every day, enjoying these same benefits.
I'm so glad I saw this video, Doctor. I wanted to take magnesium but knew little about it. You're so informative. You're like the encyclopedia of nutrition. Thank you
90 days into carnivore and muscle cramps were killing me. Magnesium Glycinate took them away after one day. I now take it daily with my required water.
@@swetachowdary 1/4 tsp in 28 oz of water, 4X a day. I need a bit of lemon water to kill the Mg taste. Also, the lemon juice fades or the Mg gets stronger if the mixture sits too long, like over night, so I just make it fresh.
I take a triple magnesium and 500mg glycine because you talked about all the benefits before. I used to have to take Xanax, Zoloft and Lunesta all at the same time for panic attacks. Now I take none of that crap! Been off them for over four years!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Dr. Peter Ford in Moncton is a 4th generation pharmacist with two PhDs. He introduced me to Magnesium Biglycenate to reduce calcium and leg cramps years ago. I’ve followed all leads to the cramping issue ever since. Hi by far the best discussion of Magnesium I have ever seen! I’m tweaking my supplements.
I take an all in one triple complex magnesium which contains malate, glycinate and citrate. Has reduced my heart palpitations by 95%. Truly has made a huge difference.
I’m currently pregnant and have had high blood pressure readings. Despite everything being normal and healthy, I was prescribed a BP med which I have declined to take until I try holistic options. Of course my doctor offered 0 recommendations so I have taken matters into my own hands, and am shocked by the amount of research telling me I’m lacking Magnesium!! I’m also shocked that it’s not included in the daily parental she’s having me take. I willl start taking this daily and I have faith it’s going to help with my BP. Nothing but good things can come from taking magnesium (in the right doses) in pregnancy! Thank you for this video. Can’t believe the doctors won’t say anything about the is 😅
Hi Dr. Berg, THANK YOU for this video. I've been suffering from Occipital Neuralgia for two years now. This condition is so painful as I experience migraine headaches. I have been seeing a neurologist who has been administering Botox and nerve blocks to my entire head. It helps but the pain still comes and goes. I saw your video about Magnesium Glycinate, and decided to try it because you indicated the health benefits of taking this supplement. I stared taking this 72 hours ago, and I am happy to report major improvement! I cannot thank you enough for keeping your audience constantly informed of help benefits from vitamin supplements with serious medical conditions. GREATFUL!!
Magnesium glycinate was life saver for me. I had severe panic attack, acid reflux few years ago. I had severe palpitations and skipped heart beat. Skipped beat was severe that I could not lay down on bed. I took SSRI, it decreased skipped beat not cured it. Then I supplemented with magnesium glycinate and within 15 days, it was cured.
I will say that I've been taking magnesium glycinate chelated powder for a couple of years now & it has been a complete life safer and changer. Before taking it, I had a terrible case of tachycardia. And I also gave what Dr. Berg was talking about which is very low stomach acid & I can still tolerate it.
When I go to my Doctor, she just Google’s everything? And I feel she doesn’t even want to talk to me? Dr Berg is the best Doctor I have, I love this man.
Good video to watch because we don't realize how rich our ancestor's environment was in magnesium for millions of years we drank for magnesium rich streams, meat from animals that grazed on magnesium rich soils, soil was rich in magnesium for any plants etc this is no longer the case. our soils are long depleted and our rivers long polluted, our water sources purified. there is no way around getting enough magnesium. you have to accept some supplementation on this one imo
I'm working out really hard, 6 days a week and used to get severe cramps in the abdominal muscles. I've been taking Mg Bisglycinate 200mg for 40 days now and indeed no single cramp, no diarrhea, no sleep problems. 100% accurate video from personal experience.
Yeah the RDA is completely broken. we actually need insane amounts of magnesium but instead we're getting too much potassium and calcium. Which is how cramps happen. too many contain supporters not enough relaxation supporters. Calcium and magnesium should be about 1:1 potassium should be less. calcium should be supported with phosphorus for storage and vitamin D
@@fabienpaillusson7390 Yes! And just imagine how it is for women in labor 😖. LOL I just had to tease ya...but I have went through both so I understand.
Magnesium has been a godsend. I’ve been suffering from migraines for over 10 years. I get the ones with the aura initially and then it feels like someone is bashing my head in with a hammer. I took Exedrin as the best remedy for it but it never fully cleared up the pain and subsequent brain fog. Now I take 2 magnesium tablets when I see an aura and I literally have no pain or symptoms. Amazing.
@@gritandgrace6425 Hi, the one I take is Magnesium Citrate 200 mg. The aura I see is like a warning sign before I feel pain. If I take 2 tablets so 400 mg when I see the aura, I will not experience pain it's really amazing and I threw out my Exedrin.
@@mithidas4295 Hi I take Magnesium Citrate 200 mg from a brand called NOW foods. I take 2 tablets so 400 mg when I experience an aura and then I won't feel pain. Works better than Exedrin for me and I've been on Exedrin for more than 10 years.
I started taking this about a week ago and I felt the benefits right away. I have anxiety and I feel calmer. Also, I am getting a good night's sleep. This is a wonder drug.
Good info. FYI, other source that we find easily in France, is Argile. It's an extract from the ground, it's used for beauty a lot, but as a therapist, i use it for magnesium too. The Green Argile coming from region of Provence in south France. It's a good source to heal all sort of things: gut inflammation, gastritis, antifungal, antidiarrhea, détox, it's full in electrolyte so I use it for fatigue as well, etc. Etc. The Green one is full with absorbable magnesium, but there are several types: red one good for ion decencies, white one for severe diarrhea, etc. Etc. Thank you. Hannature.
Magnesium Bisglycinate is attached to 2 glycine molecules. 🧐Attracts less water & has much higher absorption. Glycine also helps reduce pH in small intestine, supporting absorption & preventing Magnesium deficiency. Beneficial for improving Magnesium status, generally well-tolerated & unlikely to cause diarrhea. Involved in energy metabolism, muscle contraction, DNA synthesis, blood glucose regulation & reproduction. One of the most effective bioavailable Magnesium Forms.👍😎👍
Thanks for continuing god's work in spite of all the mainstream health organisations businesses not really supporting it! I've taken away tons of valuable information from all across your videos!
Wonderful topic!! I take both the citrate and the glycinate. I take 800 mg of each with no ill effects. Been taking citrate version for years and years. Once it was in my system, the nocturnal Charley horses subsided. Oxide is the one most available at all the stores though and I don't touch that one.
I recently just started taking Magnesium Bisglycinate and it has been wonderful! I sleep so well, better than I used to and my energy levels are always good in the morning.
I bought magnesium glycinate just yesterday after hearing carnivore diet probably deficient in magnesium. Most magnesium citrate had sugar in them, so glad I picked the right one. Definitely saw these benefits immediately. Was able to have a nice bowel movement and slept like a baby the last 2 nights. Thanks again Dr Berg!
People with autism and people who are sensitive to glutamates and other excitotoxins need to be careful with glycine and even magnesium glycinate. Some will have a negative effect with glycine. It agitates them. I learned this from TACA org and from negative comments about glycine on some RU-vids from Chris Masterjohn about glycine Check out your reaction to magnesium glycinate overtime and make sure you are not getting a paradoxical effect. I gav small amounts of glycine as part of a triple magnesium complex to my autistic daughter for a few years. It wasn't until I went to straight mag. glycinate and 2 grams of straight glycine that I saw my daughter very agitated and began the research.
Took magnesium bisglycinate lastnight for the first time because my dr recommended it to help with sleep, muscles and anxiety. It did the opposite, i became wide awake, got tension in my head and ears and became very agitated. My anxiety has been high all day. I really hope it wears off by tonight because I really need to sleep.
I started taking a magnesium tablet with lysine and glycine and my insomnia was cured overnight. And not even the full serving. Just 50mg did the job. Powerful stuff. Edit: 100mg not 50. Edit #2: magnesium lysinate glycinate tablets, not 3 different supplements, in case people are confused.
@@BlingyBea The brand I took was a magnesium lysinate glycinate chelate (all-in-one tablets). The company is called Doctors Best. It's two tablets per serving at 200mg. I was mistaken in my comment. I took 100mg before bed not 50. The bottle instructs to take twice a day so 4 tablets (400mg) total per day, but I only take one. My insomnia was acute lasting only a few weeks. If your on a prescription med you'll need to ask your doctor about the right amount. Edit: I should also mention i started taking a d3/k2 tablet in the morning as well.
I honestly can't get enough of this guy, I've been watching one video after the next for the last week, all while taking notes. Thanks for all the helpful information, I genuinely appreciate it.
I agree. Am so grateful I have an autoimmune disease and since I have been using Vit D3 and K2 and feel so much better. May Jehovah continue to keep him well
Fantastic Dr Berg please keep going with all your Fantastic videos we need you to keep us healthy your my top favourite Doctor your so clear with your advise alone your better than most GP's we really can't do with out you Thank-you from the bottom of my heart ❤❤x
So, first let me say that I really enjoy the information you share with us on health. But I have to say that I just recently started taking Magnesium glycinate and in the first day or two you WILL get diarrhea. The first day I went 5 times to the bathroom and not to urinate so it did clean me out. But after that first day I did not have any problems and it did relax me a lot, maybe too much because I took it during the day. Now I know to take it before bedtime so thanks. I do it for all the reasons you mentioned: to lower high blood pressure, to help my A1C, to stop cramping, and to help my muscles since I am almost 60 yrs old and would like to get back to work. Most importantly I think it will help with my brain fog.
Made the mistake of taking magnesium oxide for a while. Excellent laxative, if that's what you want. That's why milk of "magnesia" worked so well. Isn't easily absorbed either, so why take it- it's cheap. Switched to mag. glycinate and what a difference. No drizzles and relaxes my nervous system. Well worth it.
I am planning to do the same. I already felt some relief after 3 ,4 days. I feel like it prevents your brain from overthinking. How has it been playing out for you?
@@Midwest.. I like it a lot. It doesn't upset my stomach and I have no other side effects that I am aware of. I don't know if it helps me sleep better or not; I have chronic insomnia that is tough to beat.
Excellent info. Love your videos. Just wish you'd recommend more people talk to their Pharmacist, not MD, about drug-drug, supplement-drug, and supplement-supplement interactions. We know way more than the MDs. Just my 2 cents as an amazing Compound Pharmacist 💃🏾
Thank you so much. I just bought the magnesiam glycinite tonight. I had been taking 1/2 of the oxide version not knowing i was taking the wrong one. Good thing is i wasn't taking it every day. But now that i have the right one i will take it every night. Hopefully it will help me get better sleep.
Thank you Dr! Another great video! How long does it take for Magnesium Glycinate/Citrate to feel the benefits especially for sleep? Is it something that builds up over time or is the effect immediate?
I have been taking two capsules of Pure Encapsulations before sleep for years! It;s my favorite. I use CItrate in case I want to poop and what Dr. Berg did not mention the best for muscle pains from working out is Magnesium Malate.
I agree…been taking magnesium malate for about a year, and it works the best for me. Recently when I ran out and took magnesium glycinate that I had, my leg pains started coming back. Got my mag malate and took it, and the pains went away.
I've been taking magnesium glycinate for a while and it's brilliant. I'm very happy to see this video because it's so informative. Another excellent video Dr Berg.
Thanks Dr. Berg for such great advice. I was using Magnesium citrate but after seeing this video i will buying Magnesium glycinate. You always provides us with wonderful health benefits. You are the best.🙂
Hi Doc! I have a daughter 20 years old diagnosed after years with hypermobility Ehlers- Danlos syndrome and Postural tachycardia syndrome. I'm looking for another perspective from a Doctor who is a expert in these specialities. If you know of any one I sure would appreciate ! She was on her way to prelaw at Stanford University when her health issues ended up leaving her unable to continue school and facing a life of pain and a uncertain future. As her father I'm going to do whatever I can to help. Shes also my best friend. Anyhow Doc if you know of anyone would surely be appreciative! Zoes dad.
Thank you Dr. Berg for sharing the different types of magnesium and their absorption potential. My knowledge was limited magnesium citrate, the laxative. Have a great day!
I have spent a small fortune in magnesium products but NOTHING could stop my quivering calves, especially at night. I am two weeks into Dr Bergs magnesium glycinate and my quivering has completely stopped with no unpleasant digestive side effects.
Taking magnesium glycinate will Not confer the same benefits as having free form Glycine. To me, magnesium glycinate is Energizing & I have it as day time magnesium. On the other hand, I find free form Glycine relaxing and use it as a pre-sleep supp. Likewise, having magnesium taurate is not going to have the same effect ad having free form Taurine or having magnesium threonate is Not going to have same effect as having threonic acid (metabolite of ascorbic acid) or L-threonine.
Can confirm magnesium works well for retinal migraine, took me almost a year to figure out what was going on and how to fix it. Thank you for the remark about the possible inaccuracy of magnesium blood tests, I didn't know that yet.
Magnesium glycinate 400 helped me to fix blood sugar and restless leg syndrome so I can sleep easier and feel more energetic since I started taking it. Thx you for this amazing information Dr Berg
Its like I wrote the same the same post exactly. Just diagnosed with ibs-c, low mag and I have history of sleep apnea and anxiety too. Can't wait to try my new supplements and see the changes. My doctor has really been digging in and doing the research for me..
I took magnesium glycinate magnesium malate and magnesium theonate combination all put together 150 mg every day for. One month . Result was I became very anemic and got puffed up all over the body due to water retention. Just my experience
This advice is "primo". I have personally experienced such an improvement regarding many of the symptoms discussed in this video. Thank you Dr. Berg.....You are a blessing!
I swear we are on the same page, began magnesium Glycinate 2 weeks ago. Now taking 2 types of magnesium. I never take calcium, looking for a good potassium source.
Magnesium glycinate can cause extreme anxiety and feelings of dread / derealisation in some people. Be careful it can take days to weeks to fully recover from its side effects. I keep trying this magnesium for general anxiety but I get the same horrible side effects like a panic feeling after a couple days of using it.
I know it may feel more convenient just to watch his video to get what you have to buy but.... you have to listen to him because he provides valuable context
