I was one of the very lucky few to get into the F&F closed beta of WoW. I say that, because I remember vividly, being on my dwarf warrior, in Stonetalon Mountains, when this undead mage came walking up to me, asking me if I knew where the wyverns were located. I thought it was such a cool idea that the undead could speak common. I remember when Alliance/Horde wanted to do trades, that they would have to have undead players there to translate for the different factions.
@musclestruts5032
@musclestruts5032 2 месяца назад
The "griefing" argument also felt so silly, since people figured out pretty early how to spam Y O U L O S E to each other. It also felt very immersion breaking to have lore characters be able to talk to each other in Common, yet we couldn't. Also Blood Elves and Undead somehow forgot how to speak it? Just felt very arbitrary.

Me and a friend actually talked about the topic of player housing during Legion, and due to the impact garrisons had during WoD we both agreed it would be a bad idea. We said that, due to the atmosphere Order Halls had, guild housing should be the way to go for WoW. We talked how guild rewards, that started back in Cata but seemingly ended in MoP, was never touched upon again so felt that guild housing was a great way to bring those back while also keeping the idea of having players our own base of operations.

***Random Video Idea Suggestion*** @MadSeasonShow, whenever I watch your videos, around half way or so I always have the urge to check the comment section to see some of the amazing stories that some of WoW's many player have to share. I don't know if it would be hard to edit or put together but what if you interviewed or had people send you and tell you about some of their classic WoW adventures and how your videos have literal scenic footage of where friendships were made and legends were created. I read stories of people who just started with their friend in Elwyn to people who talked about their insane guild camping world bosses over night battling against the opposing faction. It may just be me being a nerd but I would read a whole book of peoples adventures in this game if I could. There are so many items, quests, zones, NPC's who effected everyone who played this game in different way. Anyways just tossing me 2 cents in wherever it's might be useful, I've been watching your videos since 2019 and not a single time have I not been taken back to a comfortable home, thank you for that Mad. Keep creating and Keep enjoying brother. Thank you for always keeping us entertained.

Andorhal got changed in like 1.4 actually, didn't it? At launch, the buildings were intact, but it got changed early in vanilla because the area was so dense with monsters in second floors and inside buildings that it was a laggy mess. Also, there was no "1.0" version. The game launched as 1.1!

One thing to note from my vanilla wow days. I played it pretty much near launch back when it was the only game and was strictly horde. I remember getting to Undercity (I was around lvl 10 as an undead mage and just started) and I remember seeing a player who asked if I wanted to see something cool and casted Shackle Undead on me (I think it was an undead priest) anyway in that moment for a brief time, I lost entire control of my character and it was moving around as if I was just spectating it. He gave it back and asked me "pretty cool right?" to which I said "yeah" in a panic and left. I returned a day later and the guy was doing it to someone else, so I went the long way around. It was not only removed but removed fairly early on in vanilla wow (probably without a few weeks) as I remember the guy whining in chat about being unable to do it again. Believe me when I tell you, I'm glad it's gone. It was scary to see your character you worked on in the hands of someone else, like they could just cause you to jump to your death and even if it was timed; as a new player it was scary. I have never forgotten that moment since. On another note: I like the original ogre models. They looked more like the warcraft 2 designs which I always liked more than the current wow and warcraft 1. The fat belly but muscular arms and legs made them seem unique; as if they gave off this arabian vibe to them like a genie.
