I can't believe Clayton Bingsby was based on his own grandfather...wow. Dave Chappell Show brings back memories of being in High School and a guy in my class constantly messing with me saying "What". Also no mention if him being in Robin Hood: Men In Tights, which is one of my favorite films.

comedy central refused to pay him future royalties that would have been owed to him over the coarse of the next several years which would have greatly exceeded $50mil so they created the whole smear campaign about him on drugs and having mental issues to discredit him. kind of shady of looper for not including that because that's part of the biggest and untold reasons why the show came to an end.

We took him for granted

I have a lot of respect for Dave Chapelle to understand when it was time to walk away. Like many who became famous and when the pressures of Hollywood in general becomes to much to handle, most resorted to alcohol or drug use to cope with it. Instead, Dave decided to walk away and reflect on things. I'm sure some thought he was crazy for leaving 50 million behind. But at the end of the day, he knew it was the right thing to do.

Dave Chappelle is one of the funniest comedians to ever walk on to the stage. He is a talented actor and anything he has ever been in is funny as hell. I hope he continues his career in the future, the entertainment industry is a better place with him in it.....

The only positive thing about Chappelle not having done much over the past decade is that he isn't dead and can pick it all back up whenever he wants. There is great sadness for all the talent that died far too early. Hopefully Dave will keep making us laugh again for a long time.

I didn't know that he had such a hard time breaking into the Hollywood scene. It's a shame that he was booed off stage and had so many flops, just to get a hit show that he left so shortly. It's almost as if something was telling him that TV wasn't meant to be his forte and to stick with stand up comedy.

The first time I saw Dave was on a Comedy Central commercial break about the Susan Smith case and the police sketch of a random black male that she claimed took her boys. Dave said, when he saw the sketch, "Damn! I thought I did it for a minute", I was a fan after that. Favorite Chappell Show sketch? Tyrone doing a anti-drug talk in front of a elementary school class.

we need another Dave Chappelle stand up special. the mans stand up comedy is legendary. For what it's worth and Killing em softly are easily my two favorite stand up specials by far, and have been for years. Chappelle show was great but the mans comedic talent went way beyond just sketch comedy.

I don't think the Chappelle would get the same response nowadays. It will trigger a lot of people since people can't laugh at stupid racial stereotypes anymore. Some of the American people need to suck it up and like we use to say "grow a pair" and not whine (or destroy things) when things don't go their way.

I love Dave just because how real he is. His comedy is not just any comedy, his comedy sometimes has a deeper meaning to it (Ex: Tron's law & order and the sketch of the trial of MJ and R. Kelly) and I thought he did the right thing to walk away when it got out of hand.

To me, Dave Cheppelle is a lot like Chris Farley. In the way that they took comedy and completely resuscitated it during their comedic generation, right before their brightness unexpectedly burnt out. So glad Dave is still with us.

I think it's one those things that it probably stopped at a good time, if it was still going now people probably wouldn't care anymore or it would be considered corny.

When "Keepin it real" goes wrong! Was always my favorite sketches. - When Brenda ends up in Jail cuz she "Don't like people playing on her phone!" and "She keeps it real", but in prison, they "Kept it real-er"! I'd bust-a-gut every time! - The one in the bar when "Darius James was out on a date and was almost certain the night would end with sex!" lol. "What Darius didn't know was that Chris was a 10th degree black belt who started trouble just so he could practice his Karate in street fighting scenarios. What ensued was one of the most spectacular ass-whippings ever witnessed in the Atlantic North-East." Hahaha. The WacArnolds sketches were priceless also. The Wayne Brady episodes were ground-breaking AND hilarious! And of course the Charlie Murphy stories fucking ruled. Especially the Prince(RiP) stories! There's just too many to list FFS. I'm such a huge a fan! And I don't hold it against Dave for walking away either. He'd have rather done that than put out some shows he didn't have his heart into. Good for him and good for us in the long run. At least we weren't left with a couple of seasons of garbage that Dave barely had nothing to do with. It's just too bad he had nothing left in the tank. I can't imagine having that much pressure on me to come up with groundbreaking material week in week out. Hopefully he'll be back some day, making sketch comedy again at his best! Cheers!

i think Dave underestimated how funny he was and how good he was, at comedy, to think we ever laughed "at him", like he says, he thought. we always laughed at how hilarious his views were delivered. If you ever read this Dave, know that.
