Agreed! Also GVG, please do more videos like this! We love TNT but it can't be the only thing that goes on the channel as the original content is what feels like the meat and potatoes quality :) love you guys!
The Namco Museum Volumes 1-5 include many classic arcade games that haven’t been re-released in the U.S. through other means, and the physical copies for Volumes 2/4/5 are pretty rare usually ranging $50-$120.
PLEASE get all of these before the store dies. Better yet, make a Japanese account and get Vol. 2 and Encore as well, for even more games, and Namco Anthology 1 & 2 in Japan as well. These are all good in some way, you'll find at least ONE game you'll like.
Other non-PS1 games you should get digitally: - Persona 3 FES - Persona 4 - Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (Ultimate Edition to get all the DLC) - Sonic the Fighters - Metal Gear Solid - Metal Gear Solid VR Missions - Digital Devil Saga - Digital Devil Saga 2 - Sonic and Sega All Star Racing (and get the Ryo Forklift and Metal Sonic DLC)
the thing about persona 4 arena and sonic the fighters is they are still on Xbox Live, so they are preserved at least. Heck, Persona 4 Arena vanilla is supported on Xbox Series, and it has a funny result in the faster loading times where the matches load faster than the announcer talks haha.
@@Adeyum64 Oh the PS4 version has the dlc available. The rub is Atlus pulled an Atlus and you still need to purchase them for a pack in game to a deluxe edition regardless of if you did so on Vita.
UK ps1 collector here. If you're over in US you need to buy these games digitally ASAP. If you think that the US prices are bad, you have no idea. Over here in UK Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is around £500 mint ($690) and Klonoa, Tomba and Suikoden 2 are about £250 ($345). All around its getting insane. Also consider that a lot of these games on this list are actually unavailable in Europe, so we're buying them from you. If you ever had any reservations about picking this stuff up digitally then put them aside because this video is %100 accurate on saying the prices are going to explode. Don't even get me started on N64/Saturn. Gamecube/Dreamcast isn't far behind either.
It's so weird that most of these games are stuck on the PS3 and Vita. Sony like Nintendo don't really understand or care how to pay respect to these classics while microsoft allows you to basically play any game all the way back to xbox 1 titles in remastered 4k quality on their newest consoles (and you don't even have to buy it, if you already got it).
@@fapuloes dude I get your point but BC with OG Xbox is disgraceful. Its only 42 games and people need to stop acting like MS is letting us play all our old games.
Yeah FWIW I think Derrick should include these prices in a future video rather than just a range from ebay. It’s hard to get the idea when a game is $10 to $100 Edit: not to mention the range of jumping flash! as an example is way off in the video than it’s actually worth
PS3 Store games still available: Demon's Souls, Drakengard 3, Ratchet and Clank has 10 games, God of War Collection and Origins Collection, God of War Ascension, Jak and Daxter Collection (remastered), Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles, Yakuza Dead Souls, Darkstalkers Resurrection, Street Fight II HD Remix, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Sly Collection, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Infamous games, Tokyo Jungle, The Puppeteer, Dead Space Extraction, Rain, Soldner X and X2, Mamorukun Curse, Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Condemned 2, LittleBigPlanet games, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, Disgaea 3, Disgaea D2, Zone of the Enders HD, Tales of Graces f, Tales of Xillia 1 and 2, Killzone HD, Fist of the North Star Ken's Rage 2, Sly Thieves in Time, Armored Core Verdict Day, Siren Blood Curse, 1942: Joint Strike, Thexder Neo. Uncharted Golden Abyss, Adventures of Mana, Murasmasa Rebirth, Tales of Hearts R for PS Vita. Jeanne d'Arc, Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection for PSP and Vita. The download / buy buttons are invisible but it is there on the left side under the game picture. It's a massive pain to find, download and install games on PS3 and Vita. There is no game library page only the terrible "View Downloads" list.
I think i speak for everyone when I say you're doing everyone a tremendous service by showing us what games can be found on the old psn stores Derrick I'm definitely going to be picking up xenogears, Chronocross and P2 as well as a few others on this list. And I'd love to see more similar videos for the other systems
It's worth noting that there are some PS1 and PS2 Classics that are only available on the Japanese PS Store, not to mention the small selection of PC Engine/PC Engine CD (aka TurboGrafx-16/Turbo CD) games on there too!
I was already planning on getting Persona 3, but now I plan to get Persona 2 and Klonoa! Potentially even Xenogears too. I hope you make a list of PS2 & PS3 games as well.
Be sure to get Metal Gear Solid and MGS VR Missions. Even if you get the collection for PS3 second hand these two games wont be included with the others since they were originally download codes.
Fun fact a lot of the coolest ps1 & 2 games on here are only on the American psn store like the mega man legends series, persona 2 ep, chrono cross, rayman revolution etc. You can still get them if you live elsewhere by making an American account and buying an American psn card on eBay which is what I did
Yes more of this please!!! I’ve been browsing the store for a couple days now and I keep finding new stuff. I’ve already bought Persona 3 fes though and it’s an absolute treat!
Awesome list! Not sure how many of these I'll be grabbing, but I'm sure I'll snag at least a few. And yes, please do make more lists for the other consoles!
I'm a huge fan of RPGs but just missed growing up in the PS1 era, so I really appreciate some of these highlights! I honestly forgot Persona 2 and Xenogears were even on the PSN so I'll have to pick those up. I'd love to see more of these videos!
I wish people cared this much before they announced the store is closing, especially for the Vita. It would've helped a whole lot more to keep the Vita from dying and prevented the store from closing.
I'm really anxious I might miss out on a few hidden classics before the PSN store closes, so this was a really helpful guide!! Please do one for PS2 and PSN exclusives as well!!
Thank you, this is a super amazing and useful list! Would love to see PSP, Vita or PS2 games worth looking at. I've spent the last 7 or 8 years buying PSP, Vita and PS3 games and this showed I had some holes in my library I need to fill.
Love to get more of these vids - I've recently been playing a lot of psp games I missed on my vita, so the news the store is shutting was a real downer for me
Glad to see Vagrant Story on the list! My absolute favorite Square PS1 game. This was also a good reminder to pick up Alundra and Suikoden II on my vita.
Now that I think about it, Square Enix probably had advance notice of the closing of the store. So thats why they decided to rerelease Legend of Mana, one of the few of their games that used to be PS1 exclusive, not yet released in any other way. So the only way to get it (while they get a cut of the profit, since they don't get this on used markets) was on PSN.
Don't think I'll pick up anything. I already have pretty much every game I want. But i'd still love to see more videos like this. This was definitely an interesting and cool look to see just what's there.
I already have the majority of the PSOne Classics I most wanted, but I gotta remember to scoop up Klonoa, Wild Arms 2, Jumping Flash!, Alundra, Threads of Fate, Persona 2, Parasite Eve and Strider 2 before it's too late.
This is a great list. I was jotting down everything I wanted lol. But I am definitely getting some RPGs like Breathe of Fire 3 and 4, Parasite Eve, Wild Arms. Also need to get Klonoa, Megaman Legends, Silent Hill. Too many games...
I would definitely like to see similar videos for the other games available. As for my picks, I will consider getting: Pac Man World, Armored Core, Chrono Cross, Front Mission 3, Klonoa, Megaman Legends, Silent Hill and Xenogears.
I recently bought the following PSOne games: Twisted Metal 1 and 2 Syphon Filter 1 - 3 Tekken 2 Future Cop: LAPD Armored Core Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Thinking of getting the following PSP games on the Vita: Daxter Killzone: Liberation and Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow Double Pack Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins Capcom Collection Remixed and Capcom Collection Reloaded Sega Genesis Collection Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters As for the PS2 games: I might get the Castlevania titles.
Vagrant Story is a game not to be missed by any who love great storytelling, atmosphere, deep & layered gameplay, and just a well-crafted game overall. It was also a technical triumph on the PS1, and one of the best-looking games on that system!
I'd love it if you'd cover PS2 as well, I'll be needing to grab a couple of these. But don't stress yourself too much over it. I imagine this being a very taxing process.
This was def very helpful and would love to see more vids similar for the ps2 and ps3 games as well. Would also love to see some of the other crew give their thoughts on their favs from the service.
I managed to finished the original resident evil trilogy for the first time, a few months back. Absolutely loved my time playing through them and I’m happy I managed to do it before the PSN closes. I have already bought Dino Crisis 1 and 2 and I’m excited to give those a try as well.
Good list. Though Metal Gear Solid is a strange omission. It's also worth mentioning that Alone in the Dark The New Nightmare and the legacy of Kain titles are available on Steam and if there's a sale you'll get them cheaper than on PSN. I also feel like Darkstalker's Resurrection on PS3/360 is a more ideal purchase than the PS1 port of Night Warriors, as it has online play among other features for both games in its collection. If I could add my own: Strider 2 is pretty cool. It's sort of a remake of the arcade original, but the arcade original is playable as well making it a good bargain. Syphon Filter 2 and 3 are genuinely good stealth action games for the era. The first one isn't great, but it's got that meme worthy taser. Final Fantasy Tactics is the only PS1 FF game not to get a remaster, though if you have a PSP or Vita, you might want to consider its PSP remake instead. There's also a few games that are obviously good enough to warrant mention, but are available elsewhere. Legend of Mana just got its remaster announced. MediEvil can be unlocked by playing its PS4 remake. The crash and spyro titles are all lovingly remade. Final Fantasy 7-9 have remasters with QOL features and you only need to wait for a sale for it to fall below the PSN price.
There were definitely a lot of PS1 games that caught my interest, espcially Xenogears and Breath of Fire IV. Will try to pick some up soon. Also, I'd love to see similar videos for PS2, PS3, PSP and PSVita.
I'm not sure if it's still there but a couple months ago I downloaded Motor Toon Grand Prix on the PS3, but it doesn't appear on any listing, you need to search for it, might be worth looking into if you're into racing games, it's from the gran turismo team
Definitely would like to see a video about which PS2 Classics/HD remasters of PS2 games are cheaper on PS3. Already picked up Persona 3 FES and the Ratchet & Clank Trilogy, both for less than half the price of buying a physical copy
Please do cover the other sub-categories of the PSN store, having a reference like this to turn to when I start my panic-purchasing-spree will be a real help. As for what I plan on picking up, because you asked so nicely… Wild Arms 1 & 2 (been meaning to give the series a shot, and if the window’s closing on getting in on the ground floor for a reasonable price, I guess now’s the time to bite the bullet) Suikoden I & II (See above, except with higher recommendations and a larger price differential) Parasite Eve 1 & 2 (I’m sensing a pattern…) Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (I hear the P2 duology is worth checking out, but on that note, is Innocent Sin not on the North American PSN?) Darkstalkers (Been looking into this one recently, and I dunno, I just think it looks cool.) There were other titles that caught my eye, but as I didn’t manage to retain their names, I figure that’s as good a reason as any to leave ‘em off. And, you know, the budget. That will only get tighter once we hit PS2 and beyond. I love being responsibly fiscal, yessir.
Heard a few people say in the past month when summer ends.. referring to July, or another say coming this summer when it was September 30th!? Do i just not know when seasons start and stop?
Once I get things laid out, I'm planning to get Batman Arkham Origins PS3 cause of the Adam West skin (which is the biggest reason to get it). Also getting Megaman Legends 2 and Tron Bon. I already have Danganronpa 1 and 2 for PSTV and Persona 3 FES/Portable and 4 Golden (which is now on Steam so no longer applicable). I recommend those for anyone with a PSTV or PSP/Vita.
Awesome selection. A shame we must say goodbye to the content on this store and it's ridiculous that Sony won't make these and many more available on newer consoles. Looking forward for a PS2 classics on PS3, as well as PS3, PSP and Vita videos.
Do one with PSP and PS Vita games. Those would be way harder to find, once they close down the service. I recommend all the Ys games, as well as Persona 4 Golden, Uncharted Golden Abyss, the Zero Escape series, Odin Sphere, Tales Of Hearts R, Adventures Of Mana and Jet Set Radio.
Yes please make more, with each video dedicated to a specific system like psp, ps3, vita. PSN doomsday is coming, will be very useful before the end of days of PSN comes. Thank u
I bought Dino Crisis recently not realizng I still had a physical copy of it lol but hey can't hurt to just have it there to play right away. I also randomly came across Um Jammy Lammy. I'm shocked the original Papa The Rapper was no where to be found. Although this is a PS3 game Soul Calibur 2 Online HD is still there. Pretty sure that was never released physically. Once that is gone its gone.
I'd recommend Two of my favourites games Digimon World and Monster Rancher 2 but both aren't even on the psn (MR is on the jpn psn tho). Monster raising with open world/adventure and battling elements are my jam. Shame the genre is so small nowadays.
