Just like Damon wanted to do the same sacrifice for Stefan. Despite their history, loving the same girl twice etc. I actually thought that the end was pretty fitting.

I really can't watch this without crying. Never in my life I cried like this watching a show. This people thought me love,lost,friendship and the most important part "family". I was 13 years old when I started watching tvd... all those years whenever they take a break I had to start from the beginning and every episode I go back to it. Each season I learned a new thing and I always use to download the soundtracks so I could feel the precious moments in the tvd.. I’m legit going to miss them and forever going to thank them for being part of my life. I’m gonna to have to get a tattoo symbol for tvd... love from adam to the tvd and the fans ❤️️❤️️

I'm confused as to why Stefan had to die tbh, Katherine was human when she escaped hell, why couldn't the brother just have pushed her into the flame when it came time or even just have stabbed her so she temporarily died right before the flame hit her, Stefan easily could have lived and Caroline could have still had a happy life with him

Katherine is the best characther in this show.

What kinda pissed me off is her reaction, like when Damon quote 'died' she asked one of the Gemini witch to make her a herb to hallucinate him. But with Stefan... Absolutely nothing.

This was definitely the scene that made me cry the hardest. Especially when Stefan reunited with Lexi. It was beautiful.

It's a pity Damon didn't do the same. *Stefan* : tried to save a random drowning human family *Damon* : tried to choke Elena's best friend to death out of spite *Stefan* : tried to save humans trapped in a burning bus even when he didn't know where he was, who he was *Damon* : killed Elena's brother because of a stupid tantrum When Elena broke up with Stefan, *Damon* had slept with her the very next day When "Elena" broke up with Damon and tried to kiss Stefan, *Stefan* pulled back saying it's not right. *Damon* killed the person Stefan loved the most in the world, his best friend Lexi when all she had tried to do in the past is help him. When Elena broke up with *Stefan* , he flipped a table in rage When "Elena" broke up with *Damon* , he went on a killing spree starting with Elena's friend Aaron. When Stefan was gone with Klaus ( to save Damon's life I might add), *Damon* kissed his girlfriend. When Damon was gone with Enzo, *Stefan* didn't sleep at night. *Stefan* offered to trade his life for Jenna's, someone he cared nothing about. *Damon* laid on the road and killed every passerby throughout the entire series. So tell me, *WHO WAS THE BETTER MAN??*

Obviously I have some problems with the finale, as I knew I would. But I'm glad Stefan got to reunite with Lexi. Even though we've only gotten a few episodes with her, it was clear that her friendship with Stefan was one of the deepest relationships he ever had.

I will never forget this character. The better man. He sacrificed times and times for the people he loves, he felt guilty, he tried to pay for the things he did(that he only did because he was addicted to blood not because he liked), he deserved so much better. I remember Emily Bennet saying: "Your heart is pure Stefan. That will be your curse." And by the way, I think it was meant for him to say both to Elena and Caroline.(by the way, why he whispered in her ear, touching her that way, in a lonely corridor where they bumped??)

I understand that DE is technically endgame but the devastation Elena expresses here, albeit wordlessly, at Stefan's sacrifice and the fact that she sits by his grave talking about how she gets to live life because of Stefan ... I legit feel like they got more of an endgame than SC and DE and I'm cool with that.

RIP Stefan Salvatore, I don't think I've ever cried this much at a scene before than I did this one, Stefan has always been my favourite and he is the most selfless person and I just can't believe that he sacrificed himself but that's just the person he is. I'm still crying now and it's been nearly 24 hours since the episode

Seriously i still feel they ruined Stefans whole story just to for Damon and Elena together. Season 1-3 still make way more sense then all of the rest with Damon. Damon and elena were always polar opposites to the extreme so it felt super forced to me. Plus the whole Caroline relationship felt forced too cause you still only got a friend vibe from them. No wonder they didnt care about that and let stefan die. I wish he ended up with Kathrine instead. I know it sounds kinda crazy but she was always the main one who cared about him even more then elena ever did. They had a lot of great history and if Elena and stefan could reform damon and if there was hope for even freaken Klaus to be kinda good in the originals, i was hoping that would redeem katherine a little too; around season 6 especially. Anyway oh well i guess

To be honest no matter what she says, you can tell Julie Plec has been playing favourites with Damon since basically the beginning. - Stefan has spent the entire 8 seasons trying to do what is right by everyone, the poor guy was a ripper since the beginning, he could have chosen to ignore it and just kill anyone he wants, but instead he chose to drink animal blood even though it tastes like shit. Over the seasons he has been forced to turn his humanity off and become a ripper repeatedly, which always leaves him guilty as fuck. His girlfriend then leaves him, because for some reason becoming a vampire made Elena love Damon more. He then dies with Caroline of all people seemingly being the most upset about it, then returns only to loose his brother in the process, this leads to him trying to start a new life, which is abruptly ended when his new girlfriend is killed by Enzo, who then proceeds to try ruining his life because he has been a 'bad wittle bwother' for not wallowing in self pity. He finds out he could of had a baby with Valerie only for it to get aborted by Julian, he watches his mother die, God the list really is fucking endless. Then is the last season when things are finally looking up for him, he gets forced to become an errand boy for Cade which results in him becoming a ripper and emotionless at the same time. The cure then gets forced into him yet again making him go on a guilt trip, along with every single person he has compelled making him remember all the shit he has done with his emotions turned off, which makes him a human target for everyone. And to end it all he sacrifices himself to save Damon a day after getting married. Oh yeah and during his last goodbye to Elena when he tells her he sacrificed himself, she essentially says "yeah, but Damon is alright isn't he?" - Damon wasn't a ripper, yet killed people regardless. He forced Stefan to become a ripper for years, killed more of his descendants then I dare count. Chose the easy option of shutting of his humanity so he didn't feel guilty about not saving Enzo, during this time he also ripped the person who Enzo loved head off (which apparently Enzo can forgive, but Stefan giving up on Damon is a big no no) He has basically been the cause of most of the problems throughout all 8 seasons. Oh yeah, when Elena didn't want to be around him he would throw a baby tantrum and kill people she cared about including her own brother. Whilst all this is going on he is also complaining about how Stefan gets everything whilst he gets nothing, he is suppose to be the older brother right? The least Julie Plec could have done was give Stefan a happy end with him staying as a vampire and live happily with Caroline. She could have worked in the human Elena and Damon happy life dabble without killing Stefan.

I don't care what the producers want me to believe or however many DE scenes they throw into each episode. There's no denying the chemistry between Stefan and Elena ever since season 1. It should have ended the way it did in the books with them together.

First thing she says after Stefan pretty much tells her he sacrificed himself: "So Damon's okay?" BITCHHHHHHHHHH HOLD UP

Elena hearing Stefan's first words to her in 1x01 and smiling, so they bumped into each other, then she cried because he was going to die, Stefan touching her face, his line "it's good to see you Elena, one last time", the stelena last hug and their holding hands ♥️ i cried so much, but that's not how tvd should end. stelena should end up together. stelena is so beautiful and tragic

Honestly I'm still sad about Stefan's death. He deserved so much better. He's been suicidal ever since s1 and all he ever wanted was a human life (with Elena) and what did he get instead? Nothing! While Damon got everything. The girl and a human life with the woman he loves. Did he deserve it? in my opinion, no! Even though he's changed a little over the season, he never was or never will be the better man. Stefan always sacrificed everything for the ones he loves ever since s1. And now he's dead. How is that fair? At least Stelena had more chemistry than Delena and Steroline. (Which has always been that way but this scene proved it one last time). I'm glad Ian didn't take the Delena scenes seriously and didn't even bother to make it look real. He was just there like "fml"

That was to me the best scene ever on TVD hands down. I loved Stefan's character, and despite what people are saying it makes sense to me that he died to save his brother because since the first episode that was his goal. He sacrificed so much of himself for Damon. Ughhh, i cried so much ... And that ending with Lexi was ... Epic :p

This scene with Elena and Stefan is way more emotional and heart wrenching. Amazing performances from Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev, the have undeniable chemistry!!!! The goodbye scene with Caroline wasn't even as emotional. Meh. Paul just looks at Nina differently, even after being gone for 2 years. He has so much emotion with Nina.

Him to die but whatever) and then that leaves Stefan and Elena yep this is my ending or they could have just killed Elena and Stefan and they could have just gotten together in the after world. But I kind of liked how he got to see his best friend that was cute at least he’s not alone
