You are absolutely right and what I love about this reactor is its right criticality and defending the characters beyond those who prefer especially between the two brothers would be much better if this also happened among fans beyond their preferences.

She claims to be righteous or whatever but is one of the most selfish people in it. Honestly should have made Bonnie the main character, she keeps sacrificing herself and everything she loves for everyone else. I don’t know man, in the first seasons Elena was okay but as it went on she became more and more irritating as a character.

the thing is i don't why elena gets so much crap about it when almost all the male characters do the same thing more females characters have to be literally perfect and always selfless or a total villain (like katherine) to be liked any female with semi-realistic traits gets hated on elena can be selfless sometimes and hypocritical sometimes but at the end of the day it's what makes her a realistic good character because that's how real humans are and tbh this is why i liked caroline is season 1 more and bonnie in season 1-3 (maybe 3) more because they were also flawed but realistic even if they pissed you off sometimes (and i'm not saying all of that went away but their flaws were more prominent in those seasons which i think is overall the better writing even though i liked them later on too) and tbh i think elena's character development is looking out for herself more which is something she needs to do instead of being a martyr, some people may say it's going backwards but sometimes it is needed with certain personalities like one reason why elena couldn't admit her feelings for damon was because she cared too much about what other people thought, none of her friends like damon something like she needs to not care so much about others and do what she feels is right & there are other examples earlier on and even a bit later on in this season that shows she just kind of does whatever her friends want her to do or she cares too much about what they'll think & that's when i think being selfish and caring less about what 'others think' is something good

She was supposed to tell Jeremy that she had him compelled to live town otherwise he wouldn't want to? Also Elena is not in the same position as Jenna. Klaus literally threatened Elena to her face about the location of those coffins. Her life is literally in danger 24/7 because of Klaus. She more than anyone needs to know about everything Klaus. Also Bonnie and Damon are literally only helping because they think there is something in that coffin that can kill Klaus, why? FOR ELENA!!!!

@@olavihekandjo2928 you realize the utter *hypocrisy* of elena constantly saying she doesnt wanna be left in the dark, that she has a right the make her own choices and she doesn't want anyone making them for her (namely damon and stefan) and TWICE she takes that choice away from jeremy... even after how bad the first time went? *it wasnt even dangerous for jeremy anymore* because klaus had JUST agreed to leave him unharmed, and proceeded to say "but you ahve shortage of loved ones"... as in, he'd leave jeremy alone but he then threatened bonnie, damon, caroline etc. and she has no right FORCING someone to leave bc of what *she* thinks is right,m because no one is allowed to do that to elena without elena 1) fighting back 2) getting pissed at them or 3) making some master plan behind their back (everytime she sided with elijah, or klaus, or when she daggered rebekah, or when she went into tomb vampires' place even though she was supposed to stay in the van on the stefan rescue mission... and i'm only naming stuff she did in s1 to now bc i dont wanna spoil for jeremy). WHY si ti ok for elena to do what *she* thinks is right for everyone else, but when anyone imposes on HER own will tis understandable why its wrong... even if what the person wants to do would actually help her? by your logic, john and isobelle were ultimately doing the right thing. so was damon everytime he forced elena's hand by sneaking behind her back to save her against her will. etc, etc. edit: also yeah elena's in danger, but klaus has confronted stefan and damon about the coffins WAY more than elena? because he knows... stefan... has them? he tried to make a point by going after jeremy, i mentioned how that got resolved, but then he just goes after everyone else which what? just like bonnie said: is she gonna compel everyone to listen/move/leave? they're ALL in danger, klaus has a target on all their backs. elena isn't special in this case because klaus has a reason to want them all dead or out of the way. elena is the only one of them though that forced someone who is equally as affected and has a right to choose what to do about it to be COMPELLED away. after how bad jeremy took the first time, how the *heck* does any of it seem reasonable in her head? especially after klaus just agreed to leave him alone... and klaus has proven to keep his word? lol... jeremy is probably the safest of them all next to damon before when klaus agreed to not harm him for stefan. and ELENA lol, because klaus refuses to kill or turn the *source of blood to turn his hybirds*. the people MOST in danger of dying, as this episode clearly shows, is everyone who doesn't know the location of the coffins/serves a purpose bc they're disposable. the people most in danger of getting *hurt* are stefan, bonnie, damon, and caroline before the previous episode. tyler's safe too bc he's one of klaus' few hybrids. so really, elena has no more of right to know what's going on than anyone else, and AGAIN who responds to their friend confiding something frightening to them with "can't beleive no one told ME". yeah, can't believe no one told jenna there were vmapires in town. you;re right that its not the same situation. its WORSE. jenna had no clue there was even anything to fear. she was inviting people in, getting compelled, harming herself, and ultimately died bc she wasn't even allowed to know about the danger she had to protect herself from. at least elena knows who her enemy is, what he wants, and who has it. all that she got held from her was the location of the coffins. that wouldnt help her *anyway* bc what... what is she gonna do with the coffins? she was just upset she got left out of the loop. again, not about her.

@@olavihekandjo2928 oh, and what makes it grossthat elena makes it about HER in that moment is that her BEST FRIEND just finished telling her she'd been having nightmares and doesnt feel right and her first response is "i cant believe you guys didnt tell me" like elena hasnt kept people in the dark ove rand over and over again throughout the series? so... did stefan and damon not need to know the full story of the sacrifice for klaus' ritual? did jenna not need to know that her niece was dating a VAMPIRE, her own boyfriend was a vampire hunter, her sister was involved with the supernatural, and her brother in law was too along with the fact that her boyfriends dead wife was alive? how many times did elena keeping all those secrets actually *hurt* the people she cared about? if she can do it, so can others if they think in the moment its the best decision. and it makes absolute sense for them to want to keep something from her when she ahs a habit of going behind their back and making her own deals with the people they're trying to beat. lets not forget stefan only agreed to let damon in on things IF he kept elena out of it. damon needed an in on what stefan was doing to help control things... him breaking the deal would mean losing stefan's trust and then what? the guy with klaus mikaelson's FAMILY is on a revenge plot and no one has his trust to try and reign things in so it doesnt go too far. and no, damon is doing it for elena sure. so is bonnie. but bonnie has *always* done things for everyone's sake too. that's literally why she has such animosity toward damon and stefan when she first knows what they are... bc she thinks they aren't safe for everyone to have around especially after what's happened to her and her family thanks to vammpires. just because they're trying to help elena doesn't mean her knowing is a mandate, but more specifically it doesn't mean that when someone is sayign they've been experiencign traumatic nightmares your first response should be about you.
