This song really reminded me of "The Drugs Don't Work" and as I find out, it is very similar to it! Again, Ashcroft's voice is pure bliss. Thanks for watching! blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/
Richard is the primary song writer on this album only. Their previous work, which is much more of vibey /psychedelic rock in nature, was primarily written by the entire band - but spearheaded by Nick McCabe. Nick is also credited for saving this album since it had been stuck in demo mode for so long, which can be heard during the bridge guitar solo. I would highly recommend Slide Away from A Storm in Heaven or This is Music from A Northern Soul.
Id recommend this is music and velvet morning-the verve also richard ashcroft solo career is good check out check the meaning and song for the lovers richard ashcroft
Ashcroft is a legend. Check out his post Verve stuff. Check The Meaning, This Thing Called Life, The Test, Buy It In Bottles, Song For Lovers, Out Of My Body, etc.
You should react to The Levellers - Battle of the Beanfield. If you look into the meaning; it’s about a despicable case of Police Brutality in 1985 where a group of hippies who on one side had trespassed onto someone’s land, but the police destroyed their coaches, motorhomes and even beat a pregnant woman up. The landowner testified against the cops.
He can most definitely sing, in fact his voice is as good as ever. Check out some recent live acoustic stuff - unless of course you meant you don't like his voice.
