I was on this show! I wish I could find my episode here on RU-vid! My dad was such a hero taking me to Magic Mountain every day for a week until I finally got picked to be on the show. If you have more episodes watch for my episode. I was the kid who had lost his voice and really had a struggle talking. The kid who won my episode really deserved it, I had gotten to know him during the week and he was a good guy. Funny thing is the first time my episode aired nobody saw it, when it ran on rerun I had to talk about it to each class in school.
I have to confess, I really liked this show. It's often regarded as Starcade's failed successor, and while it may not have the same iconic status as the previous show, it still was a lot of fun to watch, especially the Maze and Res-Off rounds. The set was awesome as well; one of my favorites in game show history.
It tried to be the best show it could be.Nobody's perfect.I would love to see full episodes of Mark Curry's "Don't Forget Your Toothbrush ".I liked the wheel, also the red and blue doors where one had something great and the other had something very dumb. For instance, the wheel had New York City or a nudie bar, also Brazil or a barber shop.Double doors, one had a trip to Hawaii and the other was to the hospital, another 1 was Rome or a retirement home.Wherever you were,it would be for a whole week, limo would be ready to take you, suitcase,a parent or friend.Another was Trip to Paris or a pizzeria.Hopefully this can be found.
WE WILL SEE YOU ON EARLY SATURDAY AT 4:30AM HERE ON RU-vid. SO HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE WEEK. AND BE SAFE OUT THERE AND GOOD DAY AND HAPPY SHOPPING. AND DON'T GET ZAPPED.
They had to have set the whole scammy show in advance.I'm glad I was born in 1970.Zaxxon,Congo Bongo and Up and Down, and Root Beer Tapper were cool, but crazy, just the same. The craziest were Spy Hunter and Donkey Kong.
His name is Christopher Kriesa and he had a pretty good career as a character actor after this. Chris played one of President Bartlet's generals on "The West Wing" and was also in "Cast Away" with Tom Hanks.
@pem1974 And just before TVG premiered, he had a small role in The Karate Kid as a tournament official who initially tries to stop Ali from joining Daniel and Miyagi on the floor.
That was kinda screwy the way they made things difficult. The maze, was goofy with the green treasure box and red monster box,the growling was breaking the 1st kid's concentration.Greg ,as I see it,is an Indiana Jones impersonator, but extremely dapper.the 2nd kid tried ,now this third one, looked too old to be a video game contestant.Goofy show, the rezz-off was crazy and the bonus round is the worst part, game too difficult, score as well.If I was a contestant,i'd play either Pac-man,Donkey Kong or maybe Centipede. They should at least get a consolation prize just for playing.
