Best guess is that I don’t see the need to continually bash the developer like some individuals and websites do. I don’t have any allegiance to the developer nor any financial ties, but I spent 20 years in the construction industry doing mainly project management and I can appreciate and respect the level of skill and dedication it takes to build such a community/project as they are doing. Add to this that I love living in Florida, Sumter County, and The Villages so I try to stay focused on the positives of what is happening here, but I’m also unafraid of calling out what I see as mistakes and bad decisions. Some will just look to bash because of my conservative politics and see this as an avenue for such. And for some, haters are just going to hate. Whatever their reasons, it has long ago failed to phase me.

Yes, I agree, more areas are needed for the dogs and there will probably be more nearby in the near future. As far as the hot pavement goes, that is an owner’s responsibility to walk their dogs at appropriate times, this is Florida after all. As far as the patio villas go, they have traditionally and continue to build about 25-30% courtyard/patio villas throughout the community, the biggest change has been the addition of veranda homes (which are designer) and cottage villas to the mix, both of which have no impact on the home density of the community.

Still in the design phase and they have started acquiring the necessary rights of way to widen the road, still about a year out from see (driving) any actual improvements.

The drawings on-line for Eastport show a sports pool on the NW corner of the Olympia rec center

Middleton and Eastport are “town squares” in the sense that they are centers for commercial, retail, and restaurants within the community, however neither will have a “square” in the center like LSL, BW, or SS for entertainment. Middleton has a pavilion at the south end of the main road that can and may be used as an entertainment venue, but as I understand it now, nightly entertainment will not be the norm in Middleton. Eastport has a waterfront stage area at the north end of the main road in, Barr Blvd. that will be built specifically as an entertainment venue, however it again is not a traditional “square”. Eastport has the potential for much more than the traditional “square” because it is designed with no parking on the waterfront road and they will have the ability to easily close off the road to vehicles, making it very pedestrian friendly. Also Eastport with the recreation venues - Olympia RC, golf, ball fields, etc., has the ability to to combine these areas with the waterfront area to create the largest public friendly venue (much more so than the polo grounds) for events with substantially more parking available than the other town squares.

There's a triangular property between the ball field, the boat launch parking lot, and the Olympia rec center that will be the location for the dog park.

It’s behind a quarter mile of woods, so no you can’t see it. If you go down old 470 about a half mile west from the fire station 48 you can see part of the prison. It’s basically not visible from Moultrie Creek and certainly not from Shady Brook.

No, it doesn't work that way, the ponds are interconneted within a given area/phase of development, but not throughout the community. For example from Well Point to Centeral Parkway is one system, south of Centeral Parkway is another, and the system in Monarch Grove/Linden are all 3 seperate systems and not interconnected. The new ponds are being filled by ground water, storm water drains, and specially permitted wells. The ponds in the existing areas are filled with storm water draining (it hasn't rained much) only, and are being drained to water the common areas and golf courses. These are also being kept low in prepration for the storm/hurricane season, if we get another Irma coming through you'll be glad they are low. So no they are not stealing water from the norther areas to make the new areas look pretty.

Your rep is mistaken. There are block walls separating the interior home sites from each other. This will be cottage villas. Look at the video. You will see the walls.

Interesting, because the ones we thought were Cottage Villas being built in Shady Brook have no brick walls in between them🤷‍♀️ I appreciate your insight as to the building process and what to look for.

Thank you for the input, it has been something that I’ve been trying to deal with for some time now. New content is not an easy thing to develop and still maintain intent. Production time is also a consideration- being in the right place at the right time and then editing time ads considerably to the already tight production schedule. I have a few ideas in the works that I hope to bring on in the next few videos. Yes, I’m one of those that see some repetition on what I’m producing, from the production side I have to look hard each week to find more information to present to the viewers.
