Let's all give credit where credit's due to Wayne he's one skilled mechanic this guy has fixed some of your worst problems I can remember back in Florida when you were with him down there after that major hurricane he went through and fixed some issue with your RV back then course it wasn't Miranda at that time he really is the guy to call

Congratulations on getting Miranda's engine repaired. I had a feeling that the parts that you needed would just show up. Aren't you going to miss all of the space in your class A? You're not going to have space for all of the Mickey collectables in Vanna White. Good luck on your future trip

Congratulations 👏 That is outstanding news getting the can shafts. Did you replace both or just the one? You are definitely right. When you do a new can shaft you do new lifters and the rocker arms too. No messing around. Do it right. Wishing you the best of luck and a awesome fall.

You are not the only one who can't find things. I work in a gas station part time. A lot of people will walk in a buy all of one thing we have. So I started asking, can you find this any where else. They tell me no they can't. So they buy all we have. From Starbucks, some Mountain Dew flavors to even condoms. I think this is just the start

I don't blame You for wanting to do as much as You can to make it as good as possible. My 1998 Expedition needs a radiator put on it and I had the alternator rebuilt and it needs putting back on and I have a New Water pump to go on it while I have it apart. I probably will put a New Fan Belt if I Can. I have trouble walking right now but I can with a Walker. Hopefully I can get a good Friend to help Me get it fixed eventually.

smart move that he got fresh rubber now, some people are saying that there will be a rubber shortage and tires may get harder to find. so now is the time to replace old / worn tires imho.

Hi Eric!!! It feels good I know. I have a 87 ford F-250 6.9 Diesel And everything is original on it so I'm going through the usual ok it's time to replace this.. This last time was the water pump OMG Took me there days to get the original fan clutch off the old water pump pulley.. And looking for parts Sorry it's on back order I'm like your system says you have it??? So I totally understand...

I've known how working on campers and vans can be extra taxing in general. I wouldn't want to be a mechanic is all. I get frustrated enough by simply changing out brake pads. 🙆

You can tell that your guys friendship is the kind many people hope for. Hi, Eric. Congratulations on getting your camshaft and on knowing someone like Wayne who can put it in for you. I really feel like it would help you a lot to just sit down and count your blessings a little more often. We can't all go out and get a temporary substitute to use when our RV breaks down. If you would have been counting your blessings, you would have already been on the road enjoying yourself in Vanna White instead of fretting and worrying about when you would be able to get the parts for Miranda. I like you, Eric. I would like to see you stress and worry less and enjoy life more. To me, that should be the point of RV living. Be still, be calm, count your blessings and enjoy what you've been blessed with right now instead of worrying about what might go wrong in the future. We can still make plans for the future while enjoying peace with the blessings we have now. I try to do it every day. Here's hoping you learn to do the same. A friend in Texas who cares.

i think eric feels like he's under more pressure to be able to stay on the road and filming new locations frequently, as he has mentioned that since miranda has been at base camp, he's been losing subscribers. which honestly surprised me, since i watch all of erics vids regardless, even if he wants to chill at base camp for months or a year, i watch to se HIM and his life, whatever that may be at the moment. and to be honest, i often enjoy the videos more when he is fixing or upgrading his vehicles, than the more touristy type vids. i like to see how he upgrades his rigs to make them better for full time living, and also the various issues that come up and how he problem solves them. eric puts out such good and consistent content i think his channel will continue to steadily grow, and eventually he'll make enough from it to upgrade to a really nice, new, super reliable rig instead of used RV's with a steady stream of maintenance issues. It would be really cool to see eric in a nice new overland type rig.

Hi Eric. So glad you finally got Miranda fixed. Thanks to Wayne of course. Back in Florida I was playing the same game, waiting for my replacement dinette window to arrive plus getting some welding done to reinforce my electric step area under the rig. I found the right man in the park and got it done. Window is in and finally I was able to hit the road heading North to NC and Va. Was planning to head West but my friends all decided to head back to Florida. I still want to get out West for the winter and back to Florida in the Spring. Hard decision now.

Eric, I wish the best for you and enjoy your videos. I manage one of the largest fleets in No America that uses the F59 chassis, sister to your F53. Same drive lines , just driver position is different. Anyway , we are to the point we will no longer replace cam shafts once they are worn unless super low miles and hours. We have a 35 percent engine failure rate post new cams and roller cam followers. Look up 17B30 and 17B29 recalls. We now replace long blocks routinely vs repairing engines. Also, post your last repair, I hope Wayne changed the oil and filter. I hope you have better luck than our fleet with thus type of engine repair.

Eric, use an engine oil that has ZINC in it, or buy a ZINC oil additive. A zinc replacement additive will keep the engine running smoothly, reducing the level of friction and heat generated in the engine. If you have a flat tappet cam engine, you'll always need to use a specialty motor oil that uses zinc or a zinc replacement.

If you typically get a quart low 500 to 1000 miles before oil change is due, I like to add a quart of marvel mystery oil to the engine and let it cycle through the engine til oil change time. Seems to help clean any sludge, grime, buildup throughout the engine and its oil passages. I had the problematic 2.7 dodge motor and did that. It lengthened the life of the motor drastically. It actually outlasted the car body.

I would keep the cam shafts , Then if something goes wrong with any of the new ones , you would have a spare . Those parts will be harder to get for the next year or so . Not saying anything will go wrong , but , something made the first one go out . There is a RU-vidr that is a ex dealership mechanic , and very good and very smart . He has seen many of these and would be a good person to contact if you end up with tec questions . FordTechMakuloco

Awesome!! I think you are doing the right thing by replacing the arms. The 2 yrs we owned our 2009 diesel 43 ft felt like she was in the shop more than we could travel in her. Thank goodness our new 2021 is making things much more enjoyable. Oh haven't bowled in awhile we must do that soon. What a great friend Wayne is! Hope to meet you both in the future! I agree , replace all rockers , one scar or bad wear pattern could easily take out the new cam . Timing on those are a pain .Oh and i am not a fan of touching the lobes with hand .
