Pope thought Maggie's group was dozens strong, that's what Daryl told him and why he was frustrated when his guys couldn't track these "dozens" of people when they're really only like 5 left

Y'all forgot... Rosita has been bad! Remember how she taught Alexandrians to fight after the Wolf attack.

I believe the whole point of Rosita going out to kill the Walkers, is to show us (the viewer) how at that moment Rosita resembled Michonne in Judith's eyes. You can see it in the decision she made of going out there, the delegation of what everyone should do at that moment, the way she was fighting the Walkers with a weapon that resembles a sword and especially in the silhouette when they let her back into the house...she looked exactly like Michonne. My guess is that Judith is going to start looking for a Mother-figure in Rosita.

I thought Pope would last longer than a few episodes. I guess he was just all bark.

In my opinion Pope was never the true villain it was Leah all along. I feel like this was leahs origin story which is so cool to me.

I knew that Daryl and Leah wouldn't last after all the development they put into Daryl and Connie i knew the writers were going to make them end game. Leah and Daryl are both too loyal to their people choose each other and they could never trust each other in the way Daryl and Connie did they were more of a team.

At 15:34 when the pope says "we are still worthy" and is shaking his head, it reminds me soooo much of shane. Just me?

I thought this was a good episode, but a little underwhelming for a pseudo finale. Every storyline ended in a cliff hanger, so it seems they saved everything for episode 9. Expecting episode 9 to be a big one! Can't wait for February 20th! Overall really enjoyed Part 1.

Pope was just a placeholder for setting up Leah as the real villain but she actually has a legit reason to be mad at him. He hid his 'family' from her the entire time. He chose her family. She chose hers. But for our groups sake, she's the next baddy.

I'm just gonna copy/paste my comment from another video and apologies *I'm maddd long winded* here bear with me on this one. I would have liked this as a ep 4 way more but as part 1 finale of the final season,, I'm kinda disappointed 😔 so here are my thoughts in no particular order: *Leah/Daryl* : I do think she cared for him and/or hoped it could be something again but I saw it as as soon as he said *"my people"* she got her feelings hurt all over again like she did at the cabin. She was pissed then he "chose" his 7yr lost best friend/brother and the search for him over a life with her. *THAT'S* when she decided to tell Carver specifically (b/c she even mentioned him by name and he's had a total stiffy to kill Daryl from jump) that he murdered Pope. Also, what the hell happened to their masks?!? They introduce them with these creepy masks and then seem to forget they have them 🤷🏽‍♀️🙄 *Elijah* : the more time passes I don't think he was a Reaper. I can't now see him 1: as a mercenary, hell I don't think he would have even been old enough to serve before the world fell and the Reapers all served together prior. 2: his sister was with him and they have no outside family in their group. I think now the siblings were just living at Meridian with Maggie and maybe he picked up some badass skills 🤷🏽‍♀️ not to mention he may have quite literally just picked up the mask along the way aswell. Shame on TWD if there is no actual connection b/c they sold that to us for over a year and we were excited about it. I do think Carver may have killed his sister though. *IF* that story line produces any fruit at all they need to fulfill the "the one guy is mine" line Elijah said referring to him killing a Reaper and he's the only named one left. Idk we'll see I guess but by that time will we even really care?!? As a whole the Reaper story line could have been omitted imo. *Leah told us in ep 7 "WHY" they had it out for Maggie and it was lame 😒. She said they took over Meridian and now they had to hunt down and kill everyone left in Maggie's crew (and anyone associated to her) to ensure they don't come back and try to take it back.* THAT'S IT?!?! I mean we did that back in Season 6 with the satellite station just wayyyy more awesome. On to *Alexandria* : I actually would have like it better if they omitted the Reapers and just showed us every one trying to get Alexandria patched up and *then* spent 2 or 3 great episodes on this storm. *I think the importance of the storm will be that it's going to be Alexandria's official demise.* (I have not read the comics but If I understand, everyone eventually ends up at the Common Wealth??🤔🤷🏽‍♀️) They could have made the storm creepy/spooky like Connie's episode, shown a ton of destruction they just simply will be unable to repair and spent time on character development there. Just my opinion Ultimately for the series final season to introduce and spend 8 episodes on new characters that won't make it to the finale was a big miss for me. I would have *MUCH* preferred story and tragedy to have been spent specifically on OUR people. Maggie and Negan could have still "resolved" things and the characters Maggie brought in be the only newbies we needed. In a nutshell l would have much preferred "the next big bad" be the reason we 1st all fell in love with TWD in season 1: Walkers, personal relationships and conflict. We didn't need a new villain between the Whispers and Common Wealth story lines. Lastly lol have we *still* not learned kids MUST have constant supervision!?!?! Lol. These lil shits stayyyyy putting themselves and others in harms way!!! Can't belive the 1st 8 episodes are over already!! 🥺 Anyway, if you've made it through allll that lol thanks for taking the time and hearing out my opinions and predictions. Really enjoy seeing yalls reactions & thanks for adding some fun & perspective to our Walking Dead experience ❤

11 Seasons sounds like a lot but imagine reacting to the current 18 seasons (renewed for 19) of Grey's Anatomy. Leahs made the stupidest decision! Daryl could’ve gotten her accepted into his family A real one not like how she’s been shown by pope. I think Leah’s mind has been that messed up by pope that she doesn’t believe in real family or peace and that’s why she never went with Daryl but that only made Daryl despise her as when he killed her later on in the season he didn’t even hesitate and yeah maybe because Maggie was right underneath Leah with Leah trying to push a knife into her but Daryl knew Leah had maggie at the cabin he knew it was her and he didn’t care he just shot her right threw the head I was happy but sad that she didn’t get to see it was Daryl that killed her. Also Daryl was afraid of pope but when they bunch of fireworks got lit you could see the fear in his eyes because his people were out there he didn’t hesitate to go after pope

9:15 Michonne didn't abandon them I'm tired of people saying that or saying she's a bad mom...Judith knows she went to look for her dad I know that they miss her but Judith told her to go cause in Judith's very own words "what if he's trying to get home but no one is helping him" also those kids have so much family within those walls keeping them safe and checking up on them. We seen it from so many characters like Scott, Barbara, Aaron, Jerry, Rosita, Father Gabe, Daryl, Maggie, Carol, even Virgil now cause he protected Gracie just in this episode along with Judith protecting her too at the window. 10:46 Also you hear the pope/reaper them pretty much and time he was making a big speech/ threatening Maggies group.
