Can we all just take a moment and observe how awesome the first minutes of the episode plays out. Not a single word is spoken but we can see so much about what the characters have gone through since the end of Season 2. We can see that a significant amount of time has passed which is 8 months given the way the characters have grown and facial hair (Hershel) They have gotten a lot more experience and are working together as a great team We can tell by how well organized search of the house is done by all. They have bonded and are growing closer to each other Great scene and great job by the actors conveying all of this.

The opening scene was so good. Not a single word spoken, because everyone knew what to do. I love the smile on Rick's face when they cleared the prison field. He was so proud of his group. When I first saw Hershal getting bit on the leg, I screamed. I couldn't believe it. Now what's going to happen with these new survivors?

In Season 1 and Season 2 Carl was 12 years old and In Season 3 He’s 13 years old. This episode takes place over days 295 - 297 after the Zombie Apocalypse began. The Season 2 finale happened on Day 83 after the Zombie Apocalypse began so there is a time jump of 212 Days (7 months and 2 days) between 2x13 and 3x01 which is nearly 8 months. Rick’s been awake from his coma for 238 (7 months and 28 days) days now so it’s been a time jump. He woke up on Day 59 which is about 2 months.

The title of the episode Seed refers to when Hershel suggests that they plant seeds to grow tomatoes cucumbers and soy beans within the prison yards.

Fun Fact: What happened to Hershel is the same thing that happened to Dale in the comics.

I really appreciate you being kind to Lori and considering the tough situation she’s in. She is a VERY frustrating character, but it’s never from a place of maliciousness. And in this season she’s really bearing a lot of weight. Even if a lot of it is from her own doing.

Slightly spoilery: This is the start of Daryl really becoming Rick’s right hand man. Yes you can say last season near the end that was the real start after he and Shane fought. But this season truly shows that he values and trusts Daryl and Glenn on the level he trusted Shane before, and that they matter to the group. It also builds on Carol and Daryl’s friendship and relationship. Really grows this and next season a lot. Last season laid the foundation with him looking for Sophia and the way she appreciated him and trusted him.

You're gonna love season 3! A prison can be great for shelter but there's a lot of places ppl can sneak in. They don't have enough ppl to cover the whole perimeter. Hershel getting bit was crazy! We love him, he's the doctor and we need him to deliver the baby! Rock cutting off the leg was smart but is it gonna work and how do you run from walkers now!? I love that smile Rick gave after shooting the Walker from the tower. He's so happy to have found a fenced in secure area. And since it's not a democracy anymore this is what we call the Ricktatorship era! Ur gonna love the new character btw! Being pregnant in this world would be scary and I like that you understand that. Great reaction as usual!

This is way off topic, but I love the episodes where Beth sings. (As she sang 'The Parting Glass' in this episode). Shes got 2 or 3 more episodes that she busts out in song, and they're always catchy. Shes a singer in real life (Emily Kinney), and I honestly don't connect to any of her real songs at all, lol, they are all chick songs, but they're still pretty vocals. Alao, shes waaay older than they depict her to be.

hell yeah bro now youre gonna see why this season really made the show gain a lot of traction, these next few episodes are gonna blow you away!
