I was glad you mentioned the Baldwin sisters. The scenes with them were pure gold. Helen Kleeb (Miss Mamie) and Mary Jackson (Miss Emily) were quite frail looking in this show and A Walton Easter was the last TV appearance ever for both of them. They were both true professionals and such great actors. Helen Kleeb was 89 and Mary Jackson was 85 in 1996 when this show was filmed. Kleeb died in 2003 at age 96 and Jackson in 2005 at age 95. The Recipe could have been called The Fountain of Youth! 😀

Very touching. The Waltons was always class A in every aspect. I am so grateful to everyone involved in the shows and especially to Earl Hamner. One of my kids went to "Walton" Middle School and the secretary there was a Hamner so I have always felt a connection in the real world to all of this.

💜💜💜the reunions felt like family coming home to visit. I was very annoyed by inaccuracies but I adored this one because John Boy became a father

It's almost a perfect bookend. To start the Waltons saga with Christmas in the Homecoming and end with Easter in this. The Waltons connection to the Lord was always so beautiful, that showing that Christ was the beginning and the end for the Walton family was absolutely perfect.

I just watched the season one easter story last night. I still laugh so hard at “Eleanor that elocutionist”. “Mary had a little lamb his fleece was black as soot, and every where that Mary went his sooty foot he put”. Omg Kami was so adorable and so was “Mary Ellen” going to her first dance and learning to dance, it was so sweet.

This is my favorite reunion special. I just loved how John boy realizes just how important the mountain is to him and Janet loves New York and she doesn’t want to leave her life in New York (now we sing the theme to green acres )lol😂😂😂 oh they argue and yell but they come to an agreement that buying the cabin would be a good compromise and they could go and come as they please. I know how thick red hair can be I can’t wear my hair long because it gives me headaches I love long hair but it can be very hot and heavy 😂 but yes Elizabeth hair is so beautiful and mine grows fast too The best point of the film is when John boy runs into Verdi and he actually yells Verdi and they hug like old friends do when they meet again after years apart. It’s so nice that this show never let you know that they were segregated Verdi is welcome every where and then we get reminded of this segregation in a few of the later shows. I love the ending where the Walton’s and Verdi’s church come together to celebrate the resurrection and new life and the love of God to save us all thank you Judy I hope you and your families have a blessed Easter

Judy, you and I are just a few months different in age. We are both now 65. Like you had said in a previous video how when you went to school the other kids would tease you with 'Good-night, John-boy', I didn't watch or appreciate the show as a 14 year old. To me it was 'hokey' and too sweet. Back then, All in the Family was changing viewers Must See tv. But as I got older, I have become more and more appreciative of this gem of a show. I watch it religiously when on tv, and will someday soon get the whole series on DVD. I have seen all the episodes several times. These days, when I watch, I am reminded of a kinder, simpler time. Not the 1930's-1940's of the show, but my own simple life back when I was just a teenager. Your show brings me comfort now. I have to admit that the stories and especially the 'good-nights' have brought me to tears. My parents both died when I was a teenager and The Waltons brings me family now. I grew up knowing of the characters and now the show gives me a sense of 'home' that I lost so long ago. So thank you, Judy, to you and all the cast. You will all forever be my special family, and I shall watch the show and movies for years to come. ~Joey

Judy I like the Walton series so very much it seems that in our world today 2024 I really need the Waltons Family in my life daily to give me comfort and feeling of happiness thank you.

I didn't see this one when it initially aired for whatever reason but have seen it since and did enjoy it. It was a good bookend to all the characters of The Waltons that we've grown to love.

Yes we might grow older but my brain says I’m 17 - then my mirror lies to me every day 😂😂(I really must change that mirror 😂) Such an amazing trip down memory lane :) Wow you were filming when your little one was only weeks old, that’s amazing. Well done you! I did chuckle when you said about not being included in that scene 😂 I would’ve wondered why it wasn’t included as well. I always thought that Elizabeth (Kami) was beautiful, but when she comes out, all dressed up, to serve lemonade to Drew, she is absolutely stunning. Hey, Judy. I still watch the re-runs of The Waltons. As a teenager when the series first started there were many good life lessons I learned. I think for those of us who didn't have an ideal family life that we all wised we could have been part of that family. Thanks for the memories. I do wish they would air some of the later reunions. They would be fun to watch again.

What a time to grow up as a kid then . I was 7 years old and handsome when the Waltons came out. Great shows music and times!! Priceless !

I have seen the series reruns many times, but none of the extra episodes. It was as sweet as the series!!

Happy Easter! This was a memorable episode. I've watched this movie many times in repeats within the last few years. The ending was perfect with Jimmy weeks winning the spelling bee, glad Olivia was able to reach out to help him. The babies arriving and Easter service with Verdie, appearance by grandma. Perfect perfect ending.

Episode is portraying 1969 and John and Olivia are celebrating their 40th anniversary. That would make their marriage in 1929. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the first season set in 1933. Four years is a very short time to grow such a large family. Timelines in TV often don't make sense.

Love watching The Walton's and the reunions. Every holiday I look to see if they are doing a marathon on Hallmark. Such a timeless show.

I LOVED this special, as I love everything else Waltons! I really enjoyed the addition of Aurora to this story; I was tickled to watch a "citified" person react to all the things that we took for granted during our growing up "country". She made me laugh several times, with her accent and her demeanor. I soooo loved the choir singing "Fare Thee Well" at the Easter service with Verde's congregation. I always wonder what choir that was and how the producers acquired that group to perform in this special. Thanks for sharing this with us, Judy, thoroughly enjoyable, as always!

The Waltons always found a way to make holidays memorable. I remember as a child eagerly anticipating the holiday episodes. Honestly, these episodes set the tone for many of my actual holiday experiences. The fact that this movie was a sort of farewell was quite bittersweet. In retrospect, I absolutely believe that anyone who was a faithful viewer of The Waltons would admit that they are a better person because of this series and its movie sequels.

Hi Judy, thank you! Such a nice reunion episode. I really enjoyed the Easter reunion. Yes, I believe John and Olivia should have been celebrating their 50th anniversary if the year was 1969. I remember my parents 50th anniversary, we had the whole family together for a very special celebration.

I always wished there would have been more Walton reunions with the original cast. I'm sure there would be more stories to tell of this wonderful family.

It was so funny when Jim Bob greeted the very pregnant Janet and said "You poor thing!" cracked me up.

That writing cabin was first mentioned in "The Odyssey" where the old Granny woman gifted John-Boy "Blue" the mule.

Happy memories of watching this with my mother who died suddenly months later. She loved watching The Waltons. Just wish it was shown nowadays in the U.K.

Love the Easter special. I watched it recently actually. It was great to see the kids all grown up and successful in their own jobs. You played a doctor so professionally. I always thought Drew was so handsome…those blue eyes! It’s just delightful all around. I love how Olivia tells John and John Boy that she bought the pie and she doesn’t churn butter anymore..😄❤️ And yes Jimmy Weeks was so cute…good ending for him and his Dad.

I don't remember any writing cabin in the series either. I think it's explained that way as a way to bring in John Boy's idea of buying it as a place to come stay for vacations.
