The Wanderers was released in 1979. Since then it has gained a significant Cult following. Although the story is fictional, some of the gangs were real. Fordham Baldies (Italian) and The Ducky Boys ( Irish) were some of the real gangs of the Bronx back in the day.
Directed by Philip Kaufman and starring Ken Wahl, Karen Allen, Tony Ganios.
