The fact that he was nicknamed for his beating stick (and that he was known to use his beating stick on any senators who got uppity) speaks to this. Teddy may have died with a smile on his face, knowing that he'd lived a good life as a good man. And that's something to aspire to. But Andrew Jackson was a true mad lad.
