@@rosies69 she released a song a year ago…and if you knew, it’s a strategy to wait long to release a song for a popular a artist of theirs. So when they do release a song, they get lots of attention for it since they haven’t released in a while. Same thing with blackpink💀

But what is the better company? like, BL is one of the best companies out there, if not THE best. I don't think a "perfect" company exists at all. I've never seen Kpopers being satisfied with their idol's company.

I don't know why somi chose the black label in the first place. The black label is basically like yg doesn't give their artist comebacks. She should just move to a different agency that will give her more albums. Her talent is being wasted.

Everyone knows after IOI. She should have been the biggest star out of the group but she and the company messed up so bad. If she stayed with itzy, she could have been the it girl and help itzy to become a much bigger star as they are now. Jyp was good for her but she had to chose a company who is known for delaying album and not respecting their female artist.

@@bofuthereturn he work with Big bang and for the record even other artist work with him too. He is the brain but YGE need to trust someone else and let TEDDY guide them for the final touch. It's not bad tho and you can't deny idol's struggle to do what they love to do from the first place.

This is what made me turn on YG. They aren't as officiant as the other companies. Their idols are the least active. The other companies can manage multiple active groups at once but YG can't. It makes no sense to me. It's the best company if idols want to learn hip hop, swag, and soulful vocal training but that's about it. They literally mismanage everything else.

The fact that Teddy produces Blackpink songs, a group that has a contract with Teddy's parent company YG, means that they aren't as separated as you think. Somi's XO song use the same formula as the groups who are directly under YG.

k-pop idols are treated as if they are “done for” if they get to 25 years old without global success. i don’t rlly care for somi much but i feel so bad for her.

@@jordicarvajal2834 yuna would not be in itzy and it is unsure if she would debut in nmixx. companies would nitpick even up to the trainee’s image to consider a group’s lineup. Plus, most of the trainee who were possible itzy lineup left jyp so with that tv exposure I feel like she would’ve left jyp and tried her luck somewhere else.

@@altaircain It was a good decision that Somi joined The Black Label because she fits the YG style very well and she can finally show off her true potential. JYP doesn't let there artists show off there true potential. No wonder why Got7 and Jae from Day6 left the company. But they since changed because if they didn't, Twice wouldn't had renewed their contracts or at least members would not renew. Twice is JYP's biggest money makers and losing them would be a huge disaster for them.

At this rate she will have a comeback after two years or more. She is part of the top solist but not most popular. Honestly it is a waste in the sense she hasn't been able to shine as much because they keep putting her in the dark and pushing her for business in advertising. She has potential and they destroyed her confidence in preforming that she gained back after her second solo comeback but also toxic fans pushed her to feel she had to go on extreme health diets and excercise.

Also isn't she currently also a uni student, maybe she's currently focusing on her studies... For a solo artist she's doing great

Agree. But i'm not sure with Somi. She's not that 'shining' if she performs solo, but when she performs in group, she overshadow other members. She's kinda stuck in the middle imo. But i think she has a really good self branding and she relates to her generation, and i think that's what 'sell' her or attract fans. Such a sticky situation ig, she fit more to be a celebrity/influencer but she's always been passionate of being an idol. Otherwise, i wish her the best.

U don’t make any sense and seriously can’t be for real. 😭 Somi literally is more popular than she was and very much fitting as a solo artist. You’re just stuck in the IOI days it’s time to look past that and you guys are way too influenced by girls like Wonyoung who outshine their whole group and be the only center of attention. I literally can’t name a single IVE member outside of Anh Yujin that was in IZONE with Wonyoung. You clearly don’t understand that with Somi’s popularity she would’ve had the same problem in her group as Wonyoung has in IVE: overpowering her pears. Somi is very much fit to be a solo artist and idk how or in which way she’s better off in a group full of new or unknown trainees. It’s like saying Hyuna was never fit to be a solo artist when she clearly stole the light of 4minute throughout their career. I understand the importance of a « center » but that concept stemmed from Japanese idols with the intention of promoting a group for no longer than a couple years, and only been in recent kpop groups, usually with the consequence of leaving a group weakened once the center no longer operates. Back then we used to have the « visual » which was the image of the group. In KPOP, 5 to 9 member girl groups centers ARE harmful to a group and every other member as they outshine them and if they leave the group, cause the group to fall down completely. Look at the most popular and successful kpop girl groups for a minute (TWICE, BLACKPINK, 2NE1, SNSD, ITZY, NewJeans…) and tell me if they have a « center » ? No they don’t. And that’s exactly why they perform LONGEVITY 👏🏼 and become iconic pieces of the pop culture. You think of SNSD, the 9 girls from Gee pop up in your mind. Because they understand the power of balance and unity and each member has their own power and even if there is a visual, the group won’t ever fall because the visual left the group. These exact same groups have had members who left and it didn’t change MUCH. SNSD literally made a comeback in 2022. They’ve been active since 2007. 15 years strong. IOI lasted a year. (Even if it was planned) all post IOI groups failed miserably as they broke IOI in pieces and scattered away their unity and center. IVE is popular because of Wonyoung and is victim of its hype but won’t last another few years. Choosing to put Somi in a girl group would cause the exact same situation as Suzy in MissA, Wonyoung in IVE and Hyuna in 4minute. The only way it would work is if she debuted with other popular idols who already have fanbases. IOI and IZONE were so popular because every member was, and had their own fanbases prior to debuting because of the survival show. Somi never outshined other IOI members and Wonyoung never outshined other IZONE members despite both being centers of their own groups. The moment you break that down and create new groups with the same centers and unknown trainees you create weak, industry plant based groups strictly living off hype and the center.
