This video tells the story of my pilgrimage to one of the holiest shrines in the world, the Cathedral of Santiago at Santiago de Compostela. If you don't have the time to walk the full Camino, you can definitely try this route.
From the charming town of Nigrán, I set out on foot, tracing the path of countless pilgrims before me. Each day presented new challenges and awe-inspiring moments as I made my way through breathtaking landscapes and ancient towns.
The second leg of my pilgrimage begins in Vigo, where I immersed myself in the vibrant atmosphere and soaked in the local culture. As I walked through the cobblestone streets and explored the architectural wonders, I couldn't help but feel the weight of history on my shoulders.
Continuing my pilgrimage, I ventured towards Redondela, a picturesque town nestled amidst rolling hills and lush greenery. The serenity of the surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for self-reflection and introspection.
Next, I arrived in Pontevedra, a charming city with a rich heritage. Its narrow streets led me to hidden gems and stunning churches, serving as reminders of the Camino's spiritual significance.
The journey took me further to Caldas de Reis, a place where I found solace in the soothing thermal waters. The town's tranquil ambiance provided an opportunity for relaxation and rejuvenation before I resumed my pilgrimage.
As I reached Padrón, I marveled at the historical significance of the place, closely associated with the Apostle St. James. The quaint town's connection to the pilgrimage route resonated deeply within me, adding a profound layer to my experience.
Finally, my footsteps led me to Compostela de Santiago, the ultimate destination of the Camino. The grandeur of the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral left me in awe, as I reflected on the transformative journey I had undertaken.
Throughout this captivating video, I share my personal insights, encounters with fellow pilgrims, and the breathtaking beauty of the landscapes. Join me as I navigate the Camino de Santiago, both physically and spiritually, discovering the true essence of pilgrimage and the profound impact it can have on one's soul.
Filmed entirely on the iPhone, do enjoy the sights, sounds and traditions of this centuries-old ancient pilgrimage.
