Even though I do actually like the sound of the Gibson amps, 1.5k is hard to call affordable. Appreciate this could have been nearer 5k but very expensive for a 5 watt amp. I’d probably get a deluxe reverb or Princeton instead and save some money… Really loving the gear of the week videos Andy 😊 did you see the other Vox announcements? More pedals and hand wired versions of all their amps!?! 😊

Honestly, the Falcon 5's price leaves room for a cheap combo after buying a Synergy SYN-1 and their T/DLX (Twin Clean/Cranked Deluxe Dirty) preamp module.

I picked up a Gibson GA-15 RVT for 40 bucks in the 90s. No one wanted it, but I thought the handle was really cool. Glad they are doing a similar handle on these!

These amps need be no more complicated than the Mark I. Bring back beefy traces on thick heat-resistant PCBs with sound component heat-iso, please! The irony of my owning a Mark V mini is that if I used it more often, I'd just have to sell it sooner - out of a more-rapid accumulation of fear that my reliability-luck is running out.

Watch Steve from 60 Cycle Hum explain in the video "Is Gibson Dumb," why the $1k price tag for pickups isn't actually even overpriced let alone ridiculous. Seymour Duncan has had a set just like this, box and all, for this price, for ten years, call ed the Zephyr Silver. All kinds of boutique makers from Throbak to Rewind to Ron Ellis, this IS the price point.

@@user-pk4kb8bx9g Two wrongs *don’t make a right. The cost of those parts and specs and American labor, sets that price. One pays more for high end materials such as the silver wire in the duncans (silver is the best conductor), for the hand winding; the competition between these top shelf pickups keeps those prices safe from scarcity and monopoly. Sorry I didn’t spell it out with small words for you the first time.

the only reason i have two fender amps is that they're the cheapest non-suck(non-micro) amps i could find new in box(watch sometimes, see how many people wipe after taking a dump), went for 10insh for the bass as the bottom end of acceptable. if gibsons amps are up to the same quality as their guitars, get it out of box and tested immediately, if it's good, that's luck.

Since Mesa is making these Gibson amps I'd consult a few amp repair tech channels for their thoughts on Mesa amps before deciding whether or not to buy these Gibson amps. Spoiler alert: some amp techs refuse to work on Mesa amps.

People pay $500+ for a set of Doyle Coils, so I don't see why people are getting salty about the Gibson PAFs. There are more important things to worry about. And the best tone I've ever heard from just an amp and guitar was Mark Agnesi playing an old LP Special through a GA-5, so I'm really excited about the Falcon amps. The tremolo on the 20 sounds fantastic.

You price US made amps lately? Go price Two Rock, Morgan, Milk Man, Dr. Z, Friedman, etc. Fender's one US made amp is $3K for 20 watts. That said, I don't care for the tone of the amps based on demos. Too fizzy for me.

@@Nobody92421 The Fender ‘57 Tweed Deluxe is only 12 watts and it’s $2,400. I like these new Gibson Falcon amps, but I’m a little confused about the pictures on their website that show the back of the amp where it plainly says “Hand Wired”, and multiple people on various RU-vid videos (including this) saying they have seen in insides and it isn’t hand wired.

I'm sorry but you're still wrong. $1799.. is stupid!! That's why I'll never let go of my Peavey Bandit red stripe. Of course I'm not a tube snob but it ain't worth it!!! I love my Mexican Strat and my Peavey. It's enough for me. Unless you make big money playing or you're a reviewer,to me it's good. Just my opinion.

Look at the inside of a Falcon and you'll realize why they're so "cheap." The tubes are mounted sideways, directly to the board. It honestly looks shitty and a loooot of amp techs are going to be fixing those amps. Also, a $1000 set of humbuckers? Give me a fuckin break.

The Gibson amps are still over priced even made in America, they should be $950 for the 5w and $1100 for the 12w and the pickups well we don't even have to discuss that
