Hey Ernest. I was late to the party with The Weeknd. The Hills is what caught my attention with him. I listened to his whole catalog of music and have been hooked ever since I heard him. I saw him in Phoenix during the Starboy tour. He sounded amazing live. After seeing him perform, I was even more impressed with him. It's funny because everyone was giving him a hard time about how long it took him to put out a full length project after BBTM. My Dear Melancholy was to pacify us until he dropped After Hours. It's amazing that he was creating this whole concept for After Hours and put out a ton of material all at once, between the videos, songs, performing on late night tv to incorporate that as part of his video stories. I don’t think it’s a loop, I think that snowchild in the after hours’ history comes after until I bleed out, but heartless doesn’t come after even though it’s clearly to that the video refers to. I think that it’s just to explain Abel’s history, that after entering LA he was instantly brought into drugs and everything like in heartless video. It’s just to show how he got there, and for us to understand the heartless video we would have seen before snowchild. Thats the impression I have!

Early in the video, Seeing him walking in that residential area reminded me of *King Of The Fall* .The Asian woman hugging him at 4:45 is a clear reference to *Belong To The World* . Also the character present at 6:05 is suppose to be a reference to a character that was present throughout his music videos for *Beauty Behind The Madness* . I believe the mansion seen in this video is suppose to be the same one we see in *Star Boy* . And i might be crazy but i think the blond woman in the sexual clothing that turns into a panther is maybe referencing Bella Hadid. When i saw that my mind immediately thought back at the music video for *In The Night* . All in all this music video was dope. After since seeing Heartless and Blinding Lights i had a feelings and hope that each music video would continue a story. Picking up where the previous video left off. And i like the this style of storytelling because it reminds me of Daft Punk's album Discovery which also had Anime styled music videos for each and every song telling a whole story. And knowing that The Weeknd worked closely with Daft Punk made it clear to me that this would be a opinion.
