I went to AMC in Altamonte for the early showing on the 25th and LOVE THE WORM BUCKET! The next week I got the Regal Dune bucket and it just too large and they made you buy the cup with it which was ok. I’m wondering if Cinemark has one when I see it on I-drive next week.

Great video! My guess is the tie-ins to 1984 movie were done so far in advance that the companies probably didn't know what the movie would be and were kinda stuck putting the things out. A Dune birthday themed party in late 84/early 85 would have been sweet.

I have the same version of Chapter House as you have and it's as battered as that one as well. Well loved, I think is the term.

I was in high school when the David Lynch version came out, and loved the book. I was also hugely into the band The Police, and the idea of a Sting doll was incredible. In his leather underwear, no less. This was way before FunkoPop and the like where everything has a toy likeness.

It's amazing (stunning really) how much merchandising came out of this movie! I did not much care for it when it came out, I found it a BIG disappointment and so did not collect much of thd merch although when I did find the toy Sardaukar laser blaster and the Fremen tarpel gun, both battery powered with lights and sound (at a discount aka closeout aka "we gotta get rid of this stuff") I jumped on them!! They're my one bit of '84 Dune merchandising/toys that I will never part with! The only problem is they were made for children sized hands and a bit awkward for an adult... but, who cares??!! And iirc I do have the punchout paper spaceship/vehicles book.. this I bought (again at a big discount) just as a quirky bit...I thought most of the vehicles were pretty stupid looking
