Years ago I saw a guy who had made his PC case a coffin. He put a lot into it. If memory serves me right he claimed he put over 12,000 into it.

07:45 Inflation doesn't work backwards like that, something that is $850 today would have been less than $850 in the past, not more than $850, unless what he's trying to say is that when that PC was first released, it was valued at a significantly higher price point than the $850 today, in which case it has drastically decreased in value over time. It would be a drastic decrease in value over time, because $6000 in 2005 would be worth $9432 in today's dollars.

I think he is selling it today for $850 but the parts would’ve costed around $6000 if he built it back in 2005. That’s why they said he is “passing the savings on to you”
