A couple of older gentlemen have told me on occasion that they were impressed by how much weight I was lifting, calling me strong and boy that felt great. They didn't need to say that to me but they did and I'm very thankful.
I remember posting posing pictures on an online exercise forum when I was in my early teens, and got response that they didn't belive I was lifting as heavy as I claimed because I looked weak. Lost most motivation after that, after exercising my ass off for a year.
I like when he say you have to lose sometimes fail in life in everything you doing and i remember something that you have to first fall to know how to walk thats how it is in life you come stronger
Not sure if they give you something special into food in America but when I see those weights of deadlifts ... they are insane. Honestly I have never seen anyone to deadlift more than 140kg in the gym and I am visiting various gyms about 2-3 times a week . It's like we are more functional, lean oriented rather than preferring huge muscles and high weights. It's very rare here where I live to see some really huge who is lifting really heavy weights. But in videos from Amerika it looks to me that lifting a 100kg deadlift is like entry level for beginers :)
So glad I own an amazing home gym. If some dude ever put his foot on my bar while I'm deadlifting I'm picking it up with him on it and looking him dead in the eyes, and if he isn't gone by the time I put it back down I'm gonna tell him he better run for his life.
So true. The time you hit a very frustrating, seemingly endless plateau in one of the core lifts. It's not budging, so you work on accessories and one day you get that big lift ...and more. What a feeling and your gym buddies going "Yaaaassssss"! 😀
I live in canada and i have been bullied my whole life and have had a bad life but when i came across your videos i started to workout and it changed my life and i wanted to thank you and i hope you see this and be proud of yourself because your a amazing person
That advice at the end really clicked with me, and a lot of the struggles I'm going thru currently. Not even in a competitive manner but in life in general. Very insightful, thank you. You have been an inspiration to many and continue to be!
I needed that ted talk at the end. Spent my whole life trying to prove that my disability doesn't make me any less than anyone else, but some days i feel completely defeated despite my past successes, and it sends me down a dark path. Sometimes it takes months before I'm back in a good mindset. Thanks for that Eddie
That ten more losses thing you said really hit so Thankyou for the motivation sir. Also please react to Brian Shaw goes to ufc performance center 🥺 Pls like this comment so he can see guys
That last part hit me, for a different reason, I keep failing at staying sober, just lost my job again, been to rehab twice, to therapy, medication, and I’m about to start another program for alcohol, this time I’m doing all 3 at the same time and I’m like damn, I better not fail this one, it’s so demoralizing as he said, to try your hardest at anything, including sobriety, and come up short
One thing that I remind myself from time to time: Failure is not opposite to success, it’s a part of it 😉 Keep grinding guys and gals, and never give up! That you Eddie for being who you are and showing that to the world 💪
Eddie is such a wholesome guy. That last minutes advice really inspired me, struggling right now with two exams, three kids and a job on top of it. Just got to put your head down and fight through the rough patches to get to the other side. And aslong as you have a goal, the failures along the way will just make the victory so much sweeter.
Not to be a bigger D but I mean who chose to have kids do two exams and have a job? Some people just use protection, give up for adoption or work the system. Least you’re doing it right so stop crying though. Watch the videos for yourself and keep your crying to yourself. Lol
Hmm sorry for being a grumpy butt. I guess I shouldn’t police people trying to have what left of a normal life they have. Sorry Just these days for myself I try not to complain publicly because I feel like a muppet when I do. Like seriously worse problems out there than any of mine. Basically no matter what problems I have. I hear you complaining about good stuff. You’re employed, have a family and you’re growing as a person. What’s to complain? Good luck. Start taking some pride in stuff maybe you’ll enjoy it more. Back in the day to be a man or woman people didn’t complain like little sissy girls.
Get a babysitter. If you’re a single dad have state help. Study at the YMCA and bring your kids to be watched in day care at the YMCA. Idk figure it out dad. Lol good luck
Thank you for talking about therapy here. So many people, even today, think you have to have "something wrong" with you before you see a therapist, or "I don't need someone to tell me what to do". Normalizing therapy is something that should have happened 30 years ago. If therapy had been an option when I was a kid, my adult life could have been so much better.
I've never been to any gym, never been interested in weight lifting or anything like that, but there's something about Eddie that I just can't stop watching his videos. Such a humble and down to earth guy. Love it.
When you talked about coming 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on it makes me think of Brian. Man puts his life and his health on the line, hes won so many titles in a row and now struggles to make it back to the top. I feel for him cause I know how bad it sucks to be on the top of the world and suddenly someone climbs the ranks and takes it.
I think it's funny how people respond to even the most mild criticism. "You dropped the weight" "No I dropped the bar" "Well the bar has weight" "Well so do I" Is that interaction really better than "Oh yeah. Sorry." "No worries." Smh
I was doing rows with the cable machine pulling down 200lbs with a lag pull-down bar when the cable popped and I hit myself in the chest with the bar with 200lbs of force. Told the lady at the desk the machine broke and she looked annoyed and didn’t even ask if I was ok.
Lmao, old guy in the thumbnail looks like George the animal Steele. (Wwf 80's -90's wrestler). Awesome vid as always pickletits, cant wait for another.
The barbell should be able to withstand a heavy hip thrust set. It is likely that weight is on a smaller area than a woman squatting or some sumo deadlifters. That gym should have bought better barbells to begin with.
ok that stuff at 1:40 probably the only thing will get me heated while in a gym because you can injure someone doing that just wait until the end of the set and tap them on the shoulder much more effective at getting someone to quiet down a bit
Something seems to have happened with Eddie lately. He seems much more laid back, more at peace with the world. And above all, he seems to have evolved from being the worlds greatest asshole, to actually being a nice bloke. That kind of personal change is really impressive. the last half a year or so, his videos have become much better to. The guy is actually funny now. During the worst period, I completely stopped watching his videos. It was just ego showoff, and talking down on others. Now though. I have started to really enjoy his videos again. Well done Sir. Once again you are an inspiration to people.
Eddie hall is the man who inspired me to try and get 1000 pound deadlift as well. After he did 500 kilos, I wanted to so bad. I’m already at 300 at 14, a couple years more and I hope I might
Honestly cables breaking is almost always completely the fault of the gym. A properly maintained cable should never break and should be immediately replaced if it shows any signs of wear
2:43. This was the 2021 MIA Classic in Miami and that’s my boy JD who almost killed the center judge. Sadly this was ruled no lift because he walked it off the platform. JD, you famous!!
Finally a real reaction to people getting hurt. Not the stupid laughs, as are often the case in many of the failure videos. Thank you Eddie. You are a legend! Big love the Beast!
I'm allergic to gym fails. Like, 2-3 hours of bad bailouts, leg press knee desctrucion and all that shit => I'm set for life. Any time I do anything, I get a PTSD type flashback of all that could go wrong.
just befor i got injuryed i had a younger guy the the gym( allready looking great mind you) tell me that MY physique is what he wanted to look like one day. thought to myself WoW, iv only been at the gym seriously for 2.5 years and he allready looked better than where I started. goiong from allways beeing the skinnyest person in every room to strangers complimenting my physique after spending so much of my life trying to gain wiehgt and finally being successfull just feels so f***ing good. but im normally confused and dont understand the compliment and then respond oddly because for over 30years that did Not happen.
The cable snapping on the guy doing the seated rows, yeah that reminds me of how I ended up with sciatica. Falling backwords during sled row while there was about 140kg on it. Right on a concrete floor. Still working my way through the sciatica. But it's getting better.
The lady talking about “I didn’t drop the weights, I just dropped the bar” - dropping an empty Olympic barbell will damage the bearings. It’s worse than dropping a loaded bar with bumper plates on it.
People give Planet Fitness shit all the time but I've had zero problems with equipment or people in that place in 3 years and staff has been excellent. That place is immaculately cleaned and maintained. I've seen them completely replace entire sets of dumbbells, ellipticals, etc that were all in perfect condition. Honestly man if the weight is going to bend the bar at all I'm sorry, you should have to pay for that shit. On the strongest man fails. Dude, if you even placed in that... it should be a victory.
Do NOT use barbell collars! If you fail, you can at least make a attempt in dropping the weight side to side. Personally I would not be here today, if I used barbell collars. The weight would have literally dropped on my throat.
Everybody says they would change their past. But if you change your past it will change who you are right now. Because the good and the bad have all left there mark on you. Trust me there are things in my past I wish I could have done differently. I have nightmares about it. But I know for a fact it's what made me who I am. All the hard times and all the good times have shaped me into the person I am today.. I'm having the hardest issue right no. Because I have to have spine surgery. I'm losing feeling and both my legs and arms. Do you know how hard it is. To wake up everyday and be positive. When you can barely walk. There are people out there worse off than I Am. That's the only thing keeping me going. Is that in my dog
Been going to the gym for about 15 years now.... Never laughed so hard at the dude trying to throw that kettlebell across the gym. LOL WTF was he thinking?
I actually use straps while deadlifting, not to keep me from losing my grip, but to keep me achored forward. That way i don't fall backward if i pass out, better to take a front bump then a full force backward one. That way i am losing straps when id go out, already be low and have to take more time before standing up lol. I have literally never passed put once, but my friends have and training partners. Ive watched many people split their heads open or get serious injures, id rather be safe. During competition i always walk around , chwck and make sure there is nothing behind or infront , and tgere are pads behind us.
Anybody who grabs my weights or touches my weight while I’m working out, is gonna get laid out. You can’t walk up to anybody and grab shit out of their hands; it’s assault.
Everyone always goes on about the deadlift being dangerous but it's the bench press that fucks people up. People die every year in there garage from the bench. I love benching to buy the way 😂😂😂
10:10 Did he get in a sword fight or what? Does my man really have a scar going down his left eye like some bad ass “The Crow” style? Man that’s the one type of scar I would be cool with getting on my face. It’s like from a video game or anime or something.
When you learn from your loses, and still lose just keep your efforts up and eventually if you are still not winning it but you take it like a champ, at that exact moment, you are truly the greatest loser of your version in your entire life. Being loser is not a bad thing, loses make we think about how to win and from there we learn. We are humans. We all make mistakes. But what differ us from everybody else is what we do after that mistake. Be strong physically and mentally my Man!
Today, i was bench pressing and i was racking the bar back but did miss the spot from other side so, life flashed in my eyes and weights went flying off. I did feel so embarrassed after that but still went and finished workout. Now i know import of spotter when doing pr 😅
I mean, that last bit may have had a lot of meaning to you, but for those of us who have NEVER felt success and have only felt failure it just feels condescending as fcuk.
