i believe this game is a hidden gem...9 turns....combos...maximize each action...variability...the classic euro feel of wanting to do more but not able to...i luv it! played it at all player counts and its an absolute delight

I really love the crunchy-ness of this game with 9 turns and maximizing combo actions..definitely one of my top 5 games of the year

Thanks so much for posting this video back up. I’m so looking forward to see how you guys play. Once you guys are done with Mr President. Please take a look at Trolls and Princesses. I just did 2 plays of that game today and it’s a really interesting and kinda crunchy game. Not as crunchy as what you guys are use to play, but i believe is decent enough.

I agree that Red Cathedral is a race game and couple with wether intentional or not the dice you need getting moved around the rondel can mess your turn up and further put you behind the race to get x resources to get into the cathedral tower for majority scoring at end game. Here in White Castle the variability is simple, but great and does a lot with a little. Combos are always fun. Adjusting to varrying board state, can be negative, but is a fun challenge at times. It's neat and I would own it, versus I don't care to play Red Cathedral again.

At 35:00 Derek used a black die and payed 1 money to farm, when he could've done it for free with an orange 4 on the Castle's 2nd floor. A lot of information on the board and it's easy to miss it 😅

Also at 1:05:00 Alyssa gained 1 money to farm when she could've had 4 money to farm at the Castle's level 2. Pretty big missed opportunity for her...

While you lose control over the fltruggering of the gardener action, you do initially receive that benefit, along with a set of victory points that tend to be greater than those received by the military action costing the same number of resources. The possibility of extra benefits later influences choice of die, and choice of which location for your gardener can be influenced by where someone else is at (invest big where they have a little; either you get a greater benefit when they get a small one, or you are both denied, but you still get more end game points).

I only have one play of Tiletum and two of White Castle, but I prefer Tiletum. I think it might be my favorite T game since T'zolkin, though I need a couple more plays to be sure.

Thanks for your answer. I think Tiletum look more interesting. Had high hopes on White Castle since I really like Red Cathedral.
