Sooooo true! The part starting with "The cracks between the paving stones // Like rivers of flowing veins...." in the original Quadrophenia is the most epic duel-a-trois between voice, drum and bass that history has ever heard or will ever hear again. These bassist and drummer are very good, but no match to the powerful Moon/Entwistle duo! So tragic they´re gone.....

I miss Moon and John as much as anyone but the guys that have in place of them have always been pretty great. It's been a very long time since Moon passed and getting on in time for John. These guys still put on a great show no matter. I've seen them 2x since John passed and several times since Moon passed and have never been disappointed one bit. To me they are still the greatest of all time and have passed the test of time. So get over the comparisons and accept things as they are and that is still the best....

I gotta say "Pino" Palladino had some enormous boots to fill and he did great... but he lacked the aggression and sonic assault of John Entwistle (not to mention TONE). Zak Starkey did an amazing job but he was a little "Kenny Jones" and not as loose and aggressive as Kieth Moon. I guess that's the key element between the "pre-Moon death" and "post-Entwistle death" era of the WHO... for a guy the grew up on Quadrophenia and "Live at Leeds" WHO, they lost that edge beginning in 1978 and after 2002. Townshend & Daltrey should start over again with new material and let the WHO rest in the memory of Kieth and John and the great works they created together... just my opinion.

You said it. I just thought: Daltrey is singing this amazingly and reminds me of the original recording... and so what. This is not a classic for the Who. "The Seeker", "I Can't Explain", "Won't Get Fooled Again". Yes. We will know and listen to the Who in 50 years (we'll be dead in100) and who is this al Sharpton dude - should I listen to hiM? did he ever play with Metallica like Diamond Head? Ha ha. why do we mention his name. I saw Moon once live, far away, but it didn't matter. It was like someone from another planet decided to join us. Way better than Peart.
