The Witcher 3 Vesemir's Death Scene in 1080p HD Vesemir passes away in this very sad scene, probably one of the saddest scenes in the game, what do you think of Vesemir dying in the latest Witcher game? Subscribe for more The Witcher!
Don't like that line. It implies Witchers aren't heroes by default. I'd say being created to save towns and villages from monsters for a living, saving ungrateful people who hate and fear them, says otherwise.
@@olycatastrophen7318 nah, Vesemir was tough, but Imlerith was a general of the wild hunt, someone even Geralt had trouble fighting, Vesamir stood very little chance against him, although I feel he could've fought quite well alone.
If you choose the dialogue option of "There is no blame, just grief." Geralt will say something along the line of "I can't cry, I don't know how." Always drags my emotions down to oblivion.
Vesemir was kinda superior to Imlerith, he was just outnumbered and he had to save Ciri. If not for that Imlerith was dead on spot, Vesemir wouldnt let him stand up.
He wanted to sacrifice himself; by pushing ciri away he knows he will die(because it would leave an opening for the enemy) by saving ciry. Tbh he could beat him 1 on 1 but not as smoothly as Geralt did. Or considering his age he could kill him and still be killed by imlerith
You could tell he almost cried, which is massive seeing he's a witcher and is "emotionless", his eyes watering up in the end made me cry. Not to mention you actually realize when he died, Kaer Morhen dies with him.
The only times geralt ever cried, when he thought ciri was dead and here where he held it in because he needed to be strong in front of the others, I doubt geralt would've resisted crying if it was only him there.
Damn! Look at those brief moment when Vesemir outplayed both Imlerith and Eredin in close combat. He must be a beast in his younger days. I bet he can defeat them in a one on one fight.
kamenballer Geralt learned everything from him and he is a master witcher himself. Even in the starting of this, he easily finds out weakness in Geralt's method when hunting Griffon.
@@ulquiorraschiffer1956 Vesemir tells him off for being too obvious with his upward vertical strike. Geralt uses that same upward vertical strike to land the finisher on Eredin at the end of the game.
It is one of his mantras. I believe its mentioned on Skellige, when Geralt finally finds Ciri in the hut with the dwarves. Something along the lines of "A Witcher can forget to eat, to drink, to breath even, but a Witcher never, ever forgets to care for his blade."
Yeah and he was the fencing instructer at khaer morhen too, and after it was attacked and only a few survived he was kind of thrown into the role of the master of the keep, so little reminders of his particular origin are very poignant.
@@mchi6621 nono So lets calculate Geralt (in his looks) in the movie was like 10-12 Say Vesemir was 65-70 in that time Plus in the witcher 3 it is mentioned that geralt is 110 years now So vesemir in tw3 is 165-170
According to the Timeline in the Witcher wiki, Vesemir was born in the year 1095, considering Witcher 3 takes place in 1272, Vesemir at this time would be 177 years old.
Yall realise that game canon and netflix canon are a lot different right? Geralt finished school as witcher before it was attacked by violent mob driven by pointless hatred the wolf witchers did nothing to diserve it
Vesemir is badass enough to stand up to Imlerith, Caranthir, AND Eredin. All while having the ability to sacrifice himself for the greater good. Hot damn. Avenging his death was in my opinion, the most satisfying part of this game.
True, I saved before killing Imlerith so whenever I wanted I could go back and kill that fucking bitch when ever I wanted. I'm also so damn glad I screenshotted when Ciri and Vesemir hugged and set it as my background photo. Never felt so thankful in my life for ctrl PrntScreen.
So sad, it was the closest thing geralt had to a father. He was such a beast too. He had like three to four hundered years of experience. What a legend.
And for some reason nobody see what i see. Vesemir after just caught by surprise puts imrelith to the ground in 2 seconds. If he wasnt focused on saving Ciri he wouuld have killed imlerith there. It took him literally 2 seconds .
@@mtrunkello yeah he put imrelith on the ground asap and even had eredin stumbling around like a toddler, he used his openings to get ciri away instead of fighting back otherwise hw would've been a pain in the ass for them.
Strange to think that your has-been friend ended up killing the closest man you had to a father figure all because he got a tiny little needle in his side.
The whole battle of Kaer Morhen was one of the most well designed played and told parts of a story in video game history. It was like the 'Holy Shit!' moments got bigger and bigger and kept building and building. There was no way you would guess what was going to happen next throughout. And when Ciri unleashed her full power...Good Lord!
The Battle of Kaer Morhen in TW3 and the Suicide Mission in Mass Effect 2 are the two greatest "gather your allies for a great battle" moments in gaming history imho
@@jonathanoriley8260 you won't forget your first playthrough of ME 2, if you don't cheat and just play it like you think you should. Then you see your friends unceremoniously killed at a snap of a finger. I think I lost three the first time without looking anything up to know what the last mission was or how it would play out.
Fuck man I was just playing my 2nd playthrough of witcher 3 and just went by the part where vesemir died now I realized his voice actor died less than 2 months ago 😭😭😭 ahh feels bad man may he rest in peace
Not only was Vesemir the ONLY one to avoid the frost while protecting Ciri from it, he single handedly took on two of the most powerful people in the game while protecting Ciri at the same time. Vesemir was no Witcher. He was a legend.
One thing I love about the Battle of Kaer Morhen is they did a good job portraying the strength of everyone, friend and foe. We saw how badass Eskel and Lambert are. We saw how brave Vesemir is (was :( ) Yennifer's shield is ridiculosu. Think about the little girl in the Incredibles. Think of how hard it was for her to make a shield around herself. Then look at what Yen did. Triss's fire magic is incredible, and that moment where she catches Ciri's sword and throws it back is awesome and of course Kiera shows some chops too when she kill like 5 or 6 hunters instantly. And even with all that look how quickly they're all thwarted once the Hunt got the advantage. Great job of displaying the power of the two forces at this battle.
I loved seeing how Lamber and Geralt supported each other in a sword dance kind of way before retreating to the castle, as well as Eskel's baller moves inside the castle walls. It was just good to see, as you said, the powers of the NPC's.
Really is. Didn't shed any tears for Vesemir. I was really sad but when I found out Ciri was dead and I could have prevented it. I couldn't stop crying. D:
This whole battle was epic. Vesemir's death is one of the saddest in video game history. You could feel Ciri's pain when it happened. CDPR did a great job with emotions and detail during this moment. This and the funeral just made my eyes water and I don't cry much at games. The battle against Ilmerith on Bald Mountain just made it more satisfying. And I loved how Geralt responded with his question as to how he learned to fight. "The witcher you slew." - Burn!
This, along with the true pacifist's ending in Undertale, the good ending of Metro Last Light, and Kuro's tragic story arc in Ori & the Blind Forest have been among the few things in video games that have hit me hard in the feels. And people say video games can't be expressive, emotional art...
I feel like not enough people talk about the fact that Vesemir in one stroke had imlerith in his back not to mention he was bringing it to Eredin himself. Vesemir was no pushover Edit: I was just watching it and he even gets a full horizontal slash on eredin on the third strike.
It was fucking impressive. Only reason Vesemir ended up impeded and trapped on the floor was because he chose to Aard ciri away from them in a selfless sacrifice. True hero
Him dying without his silver sword sheathed just shows he really went out fighting monsters the wild hunt specifically and nobody would ever really know
Be as it may, I'd loved it way more that after the funeral Geralt, Lambert and Eskel would have went after Imlerith to avenge their mentor instead of just Geralt and Ciri :/
F. Atnoob Its not set in stone it just that they are trained to not show them. I mean if your entire childhood was gruelling training, then an extremely painful mutation i doubt youd show that much emotion either.
Rumor started to get people to hate the witchers. They clearly have all the emotions of normal people, Geralt's just a little jaded because of all he's seen
i mean with the dagger .He knew if he kills Imlerith with dagger others will just capture him.But if he just wounded him he knew he will be pissed off to kill him and that means they can't blackmail Ciri with him as hostage
Let's be honest here, if Vesemir hadn't sacrified his own life, the Wild Hunt would have killed every single person not of their interest there anyways, or worse. He only did what he knew he had to do.
We are talking Game of Thrones plot and characters here! AAAA game, AAA is to small a rating! Vesemir's Death was emotional and a testament of great writing and direction.
The Witcher 2 and 3 are the first games that when I finished, I felt an extreme void and sadness, knowing that the game was over. The story was just that compelling, with so many likable characters, and tear-jerker moments like Vesemir's death, and (in my play through) finding out that Ciri was actually alive (Which had me at tears of joy, I was so happy that she was alive). This game was like no other in terms of great storytelling, emotions, and true choice. I loved every second of it, and I was supremely sad to see it end.
You know it's a very sad moment, when even a witcher that supposedly has been drained of emotions, gets the look that Geralt had when he saw Vesemir. :(
5:48 it reminds me of when my father was dying and there was nothing I could do when he died. Its maybe it's just a game, but it reminds me of the death of a loved one... Farewall Dad..
I've been a gamer for over 25 years and playing this part of the Witcher was the first time I sobbed my heart out while playing a game. Being a Witcher 3 fanatic I started it over and made different decisions and cried again over the Baron.... This game really plays with your emotions. I'm not a lover of Sci-fi games but I truly am looking forward to Cyberpunk
This game has a way of conveying deep emotions in the most subtle ways; sometimes even just through animation. Like the scene where Geralt finds Ciri on the Isle of Mists and thinks she's dead. Just Geralt's response once he turned Ciri over destroyed me; the devastated look on his face, taking her in his arms and rocking back and forth. Then the joy and relief once she wakes up and hugs him back. And this scene; Vesemir's final moments, Ciri's reaction, and again the look on Geralt's face; it's just amazingly done and I simply can't ever help but tear up a bit... :')
+Inp Lordiex If i were you and many others id avoid the internet as much as possible and just finish the game blindly, insteed of crying and whining for someone who didn't want to upload for the sake of of spoiling.
Now I'm just replaying now first time in 5 years and it's just an amazingly written story moment....the whole kaer morhen bit and this missions afterwards are possibly one of the greatest gaming times ever conceived
Just played this part in the game and one go wasn't enough. I had to see this again. Geralts facial expressions are heart wrenching. They did such a good job on the animation. I think it hits harder because you almost never see his emotional composure breakdown.. kind of like when he found Ciri dead and hugged her rocking back and forth. Geralt has quite alot of emotion even though he denies it.
I didn't cry for my first two playthroughs of this game years ago. But now, on my third, I cried a lot. Been a while since a game made me cry like this. It's truly something else.
I've seen a lot of death in games and films, but damnit this one made me bawl like a baby. Seeing Geralt able to show emotions for the people he truly loved and bonded with in the moment he believes ciri is dead when he finally found her and the moment vesemir really is after this battle saving ciri, it was heart wrenching. Poor ciri will forever blame herself for it even if she does come to the realization that he sacrificed himself in order to try to spare her life because he loved her even if only as family. Vesemir didnt die in vain, I just wish there could have been a way to keep him alive but I know it was how it was supposed to be in the end
I love how Vesemir threw Imlerith to the ground so easily, he could have even killed him if it wasn't for Ciri. This really shows that Vesemir knows how to fight. He even hit Eredin, made him drop Ciri, man what a fu*king monster Vesemir is.
Yeah in his prime he would have done good probably not kill them since geralt who is one of the best witchers of all time because he has the fastest reflex of them all had hard time killing imlerith and eredin (story wise) one by one but vesimir is one of the oldest witcher and has so much practice and training if had let's the reflexes of geralt and the strength of letho he would be a near perfect witcher
What I love about this scene is that it makes sense. Its not a stupid slip up kind of death its not out of place or out of character for both ciri and vesemir theres no dissociation it feels real and true to the situation and not some random shock value killing off
Yep, and it was a redemption for Vesemir,he finally found peace, in the Sack of kaer morhen he couldn't save his students, and all his life he feel bad about that.. but now he died saving all his loved ones
My HEART ... DONT BREAK IT.... (see geralt´s face and ciri looking at vesemir) NO GOD PLZ NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Closest I’ve ever came to crying in a video game. Watery eye’d yes but damn. As soon as he knew Ciri wouldn’t abandon him he knew what he had to do. Went out like a true badass.
Strider Zero yeah vesemir was a complete badass in his prime judging by how casually he incapacitated a member of the hunt while restrained in this scene.
God damn it I was so pissed on this part. Partly because Vesemir died, and also because my game was totally fucking up and there was zero sound, except for when they spoke and that was it. No music or anything. It totally ruined the moment and I was like "god damn it, I wanted to feel some more emotion than that."
I loved how vasemir manage to actualy counter the Hunts general and even Eredin. He got caugth cuz he sacrificed precious time bursting Ciri away from them...in a 1v1 Uncle Vasemir would probably kick their asses. ''Did he died like a witcher''? No, he died like a hero.
True that... I mean, The Wild hunt are a very powerfull enemy... yet the old man managed to keep up with them, even bringing Imlerith to the ground. He might have won, if Ciri wouldn't been captured and it was a 1v1
Actually, Eredin has honor compared to the rest. At 1:32 he stops Imlerith from beating Vesemir up, its utmost shame for a warrior which Vesemir truly was. He let Imlerith kill him yes, but not by shaming him with beating him up to a bloody pulp.
