the main issue was it wasn't even originally supposed to be a Star Fox game but it it's own original IP Dinosaur Planet, and you can tell with how out of place the traditional Star Fox flying sections feel compared to the rest of the game.
Krystal deserves to be playable in smash and I have been saying that since before brawl came out. (i'm an old man aged 28). not only would it be another female rep, it would be a new star fox rep! and honestly ill take just about anything to counteract the amount of FE characters there are now. but Krystal would be SUCH a good addition I just simply do not understand why she hasnt been added.
Oh man this game was a major guilty pleasure of mine in elementary school. Got the game because I liked Fox from Smash Melee. I remember Adventures getting crapped on by reviewers and school kids but I liked how epic and grand it felt.
I nominate Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy for an episode of this show. A too-fun for its own good PS2/Xbox action game that ended on a massive cliffhanger and just disappeared. Midway Games going under certainly had a lot to do with it but Warner Bros is sitting on a goldmine with that franchise.
Not going to lie Star Fox adventures was my all-time favorite GameCube game, played it constantly replayed the story I love the music I love what they did with the dinosaurs it was my first Star Fox game and granted I understand why people hate it or at least generally dislike it but it is my favorite Star Fox game not only because it has dinosaurs but I really love the theme really love the gameplay minus for the aiming function but overall I think Star Fox adventures needs a second attempt in the modern world cuz oh boy do I want to play it again.
StarFox Adventures wasn't "bad", per se... I'd say it was somewhat "unfinished", mostly because of a heavy use of stock sound effects, a rushed story that didn't commit to its initial ideas, and, probably the biggest factor against it, Microsoft buying Rare.
Never understood the hate for this game. It's a solid Zelda-like mixed with Star Fox elements that had cutting edge graphics for its time, and it was never advertised as a traditional Star Fox experience, nor a replacement for it (As we got Star Fox Assault a year or two later anyway). There's just nothing to be mad about. It was a good time. When I revisited it a couple years ago I had forgotten how excellent the soundtrack was too. The only disappointment was robbing Krystal of any gameplay beyond the prologue stuff. She should have gotten her own segments, or at least the ability to swap between characters.
It was an upper-mid tier Zelda game. Which means it's still pretty excellent. I never understood the hate for it. Though I do wish they could've just kept it as Dinosaur Planet. I think the game would be looked at in a very different light, both then and today, if they had gone that route. Shiggy is a genius, but even a genius can have a terrible idea or two if no one stands up and challenges their assertions.
Yes. it’s my first and my fav star fox game. i hate that everyone likes the space shooter stuff. this was the best. getting spell stones and capturing krazoa spirits was so good.
The thumbnail is right, Krystal was wronged. Reduced from protagonist to sex symbol with wasted character development. -_- Also, Star Fox 64 wasn't Rare. XD
This game is absolutely incredible! Even the cheesy voice acting! Takes me to a very happy place! The graphics showed off the GameCubes amazing capabilities, the music was so very Rare Ware therefore excellent and the game play was like any 3D Zelda so at a base level it played well but adventures added the Flash Zelda needed and adopted for windwaker. Lets not forget the shop keeper. She/He was priceless when you tried too hard to low ball the prices.
Star Fox Adventures was weird, but okay(?) Krystal did pretty much get shafted, since the game was something other than Star Fox. It is a bit noticeable how rushed some parts are from the sudden switch to being a Star Fox game. Arwing sections and the "boss" you fight near the end. The "Saturday morning" aspect turned me off. Also... Krystal is a baddie
My brother and I bought the game randomly a year ago and we were annoyed by how badly the design was for the literal layout for the map. They made it so time consuming to just go down the stairs to the shop in the first zone.
For a game with it’s length it really never gets lost in its sauce. Sure it doesn’t do anything crazier than Mario 64 or other 3D platformers of the time, but to put Fox in this type of game and it be at the very least a decent GameCube game…it’s a solid effort in my book and worth a play if you have access and love StarFox characters (the ending scenario is worth the time sink alone IMO). The staff combat was also pretty legit… and dinosaurs? Yes please.
An interesting Dinosaur Planet game but confusing Star Fox game. IMO Assault was the unfulfilled collaboration masterpiece. You’ve got Project Aces and Nintendo working on a Battlefield style game but they didn’t deliver branching missions or broadband multiplayer. We just want Star Fox Ace Combat
This would have been a good game if they Took trickie out of it. I'm serious. Babysitting that little 💩 made it less fun and more annoying. But no complaints about it being a copy of a Legend of Zelda game though. Still had fun beating the game.
Star Fox Adventures was fun to play for me, started playing it after getting into Super Smash Brothers: Melee. only parts i had trouble with for a while were the barrel dodging in the area with all the meteors, the test of strength in the jumping dinosaur tribe village, and finding the last staff upgrade cave. it got frustrating a few times, but it was still a pretty fun game.
Also doesn't make sense to call it a Zelda clone since even if it was originally brought out as dinosaur planet and still would have pretty much been the same game just without Star Fox so you guys are basically calling dinosaur planet a Zelda clone which just means you don't like the game and to anybody who likes it that's not their problem tough It's a Star Fox game honestly it's become a part of his character in smash Bros if you pay attention
I like this character for TBH. I just wish the video didn't open by spoiling jokes in the middle? It was pretty confusing and made it seem like I missed another video that lead into this one.
I feel they could actually make a great sequel to this game if they focus on the space levels more so around this time to make it feel more starfoxish I like to open world elements from dinosaur planet and the somewhat story narrative but they need to bring back general scales make it make sense more boss battles more dialogue but keep the same how do you say foundation that made the game what it was honestly if the GameCube version of Star Fox adventures which is dinosaur planet would have had better how do you say space level similar to Star Fox 64 this game would have been awesome and if they wouldn't have how do you say rushed out on some of the boss fights and let them play out as such as they should have this game would have probably been up there with the Metroid prime and Zelda and then I don't think it would have been looked at it so much of a Zelda clone if they would have done that I mean it would have still been there noticeably but still that they should have like how do you say took their time but beggars can't be choosers and all we can do right now is pray for another Star Fox game to the adventure saga as well as donkey Kong 64 I've been waiting for sequels for these games my entire life
All GameCube games need to be accessible on switch. Starfox adventure and pacman world 2 were breath of fresh air from my other favs I loved the missions in this game
My most standout memory of this game is that one unskippable minigame where you have to mash the A button to win a test of strength. It was fucking bullshit for me back then and for the longest time stopped me from progressing in the game. And then you had to do a different version of the same later on.
definitely the worst part of the game was those minigame tests. The worst for me was the one to control fear with the slider going left and right at a moments notice.
i had to get my dad everytime i got to that part. he’d smash that A button faster then i ever could.😂 now the fear test…that took me over a year to beat.
I'm surprised you guys dont get more views. I grew up a fan of adam and Morgan on xplay, makes me happy to see new episodes all these years later 😀 you guys rock 😎
At least Esphirian is *slowly* remaking StarFox Adventures from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4, and it looks GOOD! Especially since he's making Krystal actually relevant to the plot instead of being just a damsel.
