They're going for $90 on eBay right now, open-box-new. I just ordered one today. I mean, $129 was already a good price...but after seeing those $90 deals, I couldn't pass up on it. Loved the animation at the beginning and the General!!!! Great video and fun to watch as always. As for the drone, that's probably one of the better ~$100 drones I've seen but the camera quality for video is not that great as you pointed out (stabilization issues). For photos, hey--$129 to get a bird in the sky and have some fun, not bad... not bad.

Thanks, brother. Saw this vid a few days ago, ordered right away and got it this morning. I mentioned in another reply that I'm new to drones (but not videography) and have a mini-3 pro but have only been up briefly twice. I needed something to smooth out the learning curve and this appears to be it. Charged the batteries and put on my translator hat and actually had it connected and calibrated fairly quickly. I had a blast and while, yes, I'ma have to learn how to replace a slightly chipped blade---I started to accrue some muscle memory and was zipping around all over the place in just a few minutes--circling tree trunks, figure-8's, buzzing my awesome 99-yr old father through his bathroom windows while he was sitting down and taking care of bidness (hit the house here getting fancy and close, hence the chip.) Appears you have talent & game skillz in every arena, young man. Your website explains a lot. Keep on keeping' on.

Hey Ted. This one seems like a good choice for $130 for sure. I think, I could be wrong though, but this looks like a maybe a rebranded MJX. There's so many of these budget brushless GPS drones now that I lose track. I've seen drones priced $300 with no gimbal so even though this one is far from perfect it does offer more at this price range than any drone I can think of including the Holy Stone HS360S.

I think the price ia comparatively still pretty expensive since the DJIs cost from 4-5 times the price but they also come with 4k HDR, better stabilization and all the other features which makes them more than 4-5 times the quality of this one. So this drone is not actually a great deal just you get what you pay for.

Goodmorning i have a question that i jst wanna confirm under the drone above the MADE IN CHINA writing is that little eye an optical flow sensor?? Cause there is nothing in the manual that says it has one but that little eye works I've tested it out bye putting my hand under and it follows... just wanna knw for sure thanx !!!!

Incredible shots from a bargain drone Ted....I've never owned anything besides DJI (other than the toys I used to build stick time) One of these definitely will find a place in my gear....great option for close quarters, higher risk environments (like in the Forrest flying over water etc.)

I got this drone for Christmas. I followed the instructions as vague as they are the best I could. I have not been able to get this drone to pair through Bluetooth to an iPhone 15 or a cheap straight talk Walmart phone. could you help me with figuring out how to get started?

At the last location, seaside, the waves coming in appeared jerky which to me seems like the frame rate is actually less than 24fps. Otherwise, for that drone & price, it seemed pretty good. Did the drifting occur more than that one time? Because if it did, that would be a problem when using it in environments that aren’t In wide open spaces.

I'm curious why this can't be delivered to Malaysia? Amazon USA and UK both say cannot be shipped here, while Lazada and Shopee, local versions, don't list this device.

Yeah Teddy baby! This is what I've been looking for.. A usable, entry-level, working drone. And while I was definitely hot to trot on the, DJI low-end units. In many ways.. What you've shown here. Is, pretty damned amazing and impressive. For how much? I'm with you partner. On using the low-end, cheap, consumer, entry-level stuff. I'm a very well accomplished and highly seasoned, Professional Audio & Broadcast Engineer. With 20 years at a major television network. As a, Primary Audio Engineer. One of the best at NBC-TV. And you are absolutely right my friend! I actually, like you. Teach how to make good recordings at home. With the cheap stuff. Every rock band has. And has no luck getting a decent usable recording with it. I show them how. And it sounds like my, 1972 custom-made,, $85,000 Dave Grohl movie Audio Console. But I really don't need that. A small, $99-$500 mixer will do just fine. When you understand how it works on the inside. So you can get, maximum benefit from it. Pushing it to its limit. Without going over. And getting crappy sound.. It's so easy to get it right and there are tricks. One can take. To maintain a quality level. Commonly and regularly lost by most others. It's like your argument for Auto Exposure on drones. Yes. I agree. And if I wanted different? I would simply set the AE offset up or down. By 1 Stop, increments. And to maintain video level below,, 100%. I don't want to go to 100%. I will set it to, 97% white. So as not to go over 100%. Where everything washes out and there is no recovery. And looks amateur hour.. So keep your exposure below 100%, always. I hate looking at when it percent video.. It looks so plastic. And then you've got more latitude to play with. In color grading and exposure tweaking. And I take full advantage of that. There's another cool little trick that can be played I'd like to turn you onto Teddy. But you're probably already familiar with it? Maybe not? As I use this more for video production. While you like the more pastel look in color. I like heavy saturation. I do a lot of rock 'n' roll videos with a lot of colored lighting. And so I don't care about skin tones that much. As there is Billy he looks green. Mark looks Purplel. Joanne is a beautiful crimson. Craig is lit up bright blue. And I want those colors saturated. But sometimes there's a problem. Especially with blue and red. You start to see this flurry within the color. It's moving. It's undulating. It's full of snow. Moving snow. And that is video noise in the, color. So of course. You would back off on the saturation. And that noise would be reduced. But I have a better way. It's pretty cool. Well you are using that,, Fusion Software? I love Vegas. Though I've only personally been there twice in my lifetime. I'm talking about the software originally by Sony now by MAGIX. And with that software. You can separate the Luminance. The black-and-white part of the picture. From the Chrominance. The color portion of the picture. And you will find most of that noise. In the chrominance. Though you may see a little in the luminance. It will not be massive like the chrominance. What to do? One might consider using some of those, noise reduction video plug-ins. But you are left with a crappy looking soft half out of focus picture. Blah! That sucks. So? I will separate the chrominance from the luminance. And I use a little trick. It's a trick that was used. To put color on our, VHS and Betamax videotape. Called a Color Under, format. Now what this meant. Was that you would get your, 260 lines of SD video resolution. To keep the pictures sharp. And then. I would take the chrominance. And I completely blow out the focus to a soft blur for the color. And in doing so. All of the of noxious snowy color noise. Magically disappears! Everything looks great! Because there is no resolution in the color whatsoever. And yet? Everything will look saturated and in beautiful color. With no noise discernible in the picture. And I figured that out. Because I technically know how color is put on consumer videotape recorders. There is no resolution to the color. You get the 260 lines of resolution in the black and white luminance. And you can actually put a sharpening filter on that. Without really generating excessive noise. Because you're only sharpening the black-and-white portion. Not the color. Et Voilà! Now I haven't tried to do that in Adobe Premier Pro nor Avid Media Composer. I haven't tried any other software for that trick.. I've found it easy and intuitive and quick in Vegas. I love Vegas. I can do things with Vegas I can't do with other programs. Why? Because… Originally, Vegas was a Multitrack Audio Program. Later adapted to video. And I'm an audio guy.. I started using it way back when. And it was not my favorite for audio. I had others I liked better. But when they brought it out with video. Oh-My-God! This changed everything. This is easier and more intuitive than, Premier Pro or Media Composer.. And it seems to run pretty flawlessly on just about everything. On Windows machines. And if I can't load up the latest version, that I use, 16 I think.. I can load up an earlier version.. And still get my basic necessities. Migrating later to the newer version software. In post. And that has worked out well for me. Such as sticking a crappy camera on an old laptop. I'll record it in an earlier version of Vegas. As I've got all of my shots running simultaneously and all isolated. All running into a switcher for a live hot switch production. That also gets recorded. And sometimes postproduction simply means. Slathering some B roll over top of it. In places. And quickly made ready for broadcast and such. Where all the elements can then later be completely, re-envisioned and rearranged. Because not only might I have multiple audio tracks running. I will have all of these multiple video tracks running simultaneously. You only see what's on top. And you cut out from top. To get to the lower levels. As you work your way down. Chop chop chop and you're done. And out the door it goes. As I used to do TV News. It's a new show. 5 times per day. Every day.. Without fail. And many would call that a grind. It is. So you've got to love it. And we did. We were the best in the world. Because RCA owned NBC. They had the general David Sarnoff Research Center. It was another Bell Laboratories. And they only hired the best engineers in the world. And well? They hired me. And I did not intend to stay but 4 months. I left at the end of 20 years. They really really liked me. I really really helped. I did some pretty cool things. They'd not ever seen anybody else do! Like stripping wires with my teeth. And putting together an emergency, on-air, Telephone Hybrid. Out of the bunch of junk parts in 10 minutes. I'm Scotty from Star Trek! And hey. We both worked for NBC! Even though they had the audacity to cancel it after 3 seasons. Darn fools! I'll never forgive them for that! I love the original crew. Who didn't? And I never realized. I would one day become Scotty. And not only that! I think. I can claim. I am the first person in the world. To have done,, comedy parody on Star Trek. In 1966. The day after it debuted on NBC. I was only, 12 years old and in, 6th grade. And in charge of the AV Team. As I told my teacher I wanted to do that as a career. In 6th grade LOL. And so we still had show and tell in 6th grade. And when it was my turn. I simply walked up there in my button-down shirts and trousers. And I looked at my class members from left to right and back again. Looking them over carefully. Then I put my hand in my back pocket. Pulled out my wallet. And flipped it open in front of them. And said… Beam me up Scotty. Before anybody else did.. The whole class laughed. I was a big hit. Star Trek was on everybody's tongue. And I had seen the future. The evening before. And I knew one day. I might likely become a standup comedian? I could start right now. And I did. Who would have ever thought about doing that? The day after he debuted? I don't think I said Scotty? I think I just said beam me up? Get me out of here. And I was using my wallet like the Star Trek communicator. Who would have thunk the night after? I was on top of it! I knew an opportunity when I saw one. I was ready! And so years later. I also dabbled in stand-up comedy. And I was told by some young professional comics. That were also honing their act. At an open mic night. That I should do it as a profession. They said I was good. I said I'm an, Audio Engineer. And they would turn around and walk away from me. I was felt very snubbed by that. As I should've become a comedian instead. I probably would not have hurt my back as bad? Not having to carry heavy junk. But I did not pursue stand-up comedy. And in hindsight I regret I didn't. I think I would still be having a lot more fun. But really. You can only record so many twentysomething and 30 something-year-olds. When you are pushing 70. And a little less than a two year slide into it. But I digress. I simply love your channel Ted. You are so inspirational. You are a true Artist. Your friend. RemyRAD
