I think I remember an interview where *Johnny Knoxville* was talking about how he broke his eye-socket bone at Action park, which is one of his favorite places on earth. Afterwards, his eye kept popping out when he sneezed. **Edit: That specific incident was on the shooting of Knoxville's movie about Action Park, called Action Point. Check it out

Action Park sounds awesome. It's too bad they couldn't manage safety better. A user-controlled experience bundled with safety features would be a lot more fun than most amusement park rides today.

Action park was so super fun. I loved going there as a kid. There really was an element of risk, but I must admit that added to the fun. It was amazing how much freedom you had to operate within the park. It really made everything so fun. The water was freezing cold.

I know where I'm going as soon as I get my time traveling machine running again!

There were a few reported cases of people going through the loop and then exiting reality through a tear in space time, eventually ending up out near the rings of saturn, but they kept this pretty hush hush.

Thumbnail / title really don't do justice to the content. This story is one of the craziest thing i've heard in a while.

I am wondering if they were ever actually there, or just collected videos and comments from the Internet. While some of the stuff was really pushing the edge, it wasn't quite as bad as made out in the video (exception that looping slide - yeah, poorly thought out/designed). For example, the white water rafting - the concrete was actually covered in a few inches of foam, so you weren't just crashing into solid concrete - it was actually pretty soft. I was there twice, and loved it both times, but I never did the motor related stuff, or the alpine slide so can't speak to those. Swing wasn't quite the way portrayed - I don't know how you could hit the far side. I know they had a bungee tower too, and thought I would never do that, but they were actually pretty careful - they sorted you by weight class (4 launch points), and they had one of those large air filled sacks underneath each tower, and there were multiple cords for the actual bungee. I felt completely safe doing it. I was crushed when the park was closed.

NGL, that alpine luge ride looks fun as hell, lol.

Action park re opened under the name mountain creek, at least half of these rides are still there and in operation! Used to go there every summer

This may sound weird, but you have a really nice voice!

This park, besides obviously the looping slide, which they kept part of it in sight for show...and removal of aqua scoot, alpine slide, motor world, reopened as mountain creek.. which opens every summer still. I went in the early / mid 80s and 90s several times.. it was crazy, but awesome as a kid. I never got hurt badly, but would be a little beat up. They added a few new slides in more recent years.. although tricks on the Tarzan swing are forbidden now and they limit the number of people going down the rapids, require helmets for the Colorado river ride which is rough now.. guests can still experience the "Action Park" water park. for the most part.

I've sem many videos about action park, How is toast has info iv never heard of. Though the down play of deaths was odd.

Went there 3 times as a kid in the 80s and yeah the place was insane ..Took my daughter the past 2 summers it's now called Mountain Creek and it's just an old run down version of what was an incredible place to go on vacation..Never went on the loop slide it was already closed by the time we got there that summer but everything else on this list I did and survived...Oh except the kayak experience....If you never went to this place in it's heyday you'll never understand how much fun it was ...Great memories of Action Park .

Tried vandkanonen in faarup a few times years ago and the rush of adrenaline, nowadays i dont got the nerves anymore. Got a wee bit of claus and fear of enclosed spaces. But man its scary. Even when things are well engineered.

We went every Summer, never got hurt except a little bruised from Colorado River. THAT ride was a free for all. Halfway down people would jump out of their raft into other rafts. I never fell off the Alpine Slide. Put it this way, if you didn't act like an idiot, you would be ok......but you better be able to swim. The speed slide was INSANE, there is no modern slide anywhere as steep. It was 100 feet high and the top was straight down, it was enclosed so nobody would fall out forward. Yes, my nutcase friend did it head first....twice. The girl working the slide didn't care.

Yeah, I am pretty sure it was dark if you rode you rode the cannonball loop because my local waterpark has a watwr slide with vary similar tubing to the one used in the cannonball loop and in footage of the slide it goes dark when you enter it.

Has fun there though. Scratched up my arms and legs on several slides but still fun.

First time I went there I was terrified after hearing all the stories and I do remember signing a waiver but I can't remember what it said. Went the first time with my friend and his family and my mom and dad almost didn't let me go because of the stories. Cut to a few hours later and I was having the time of my life and couldn't wait to go back. lol Can't even tell you how many times I was there but one summer Snapple bottles had a buy one get one free tickets so we hit it probably 10 or 12 times that summer.

Every time I watch a documentary on action park, it sounds like the coolest place on earth. For every kid that got fucked up, 10000 had the time of their lives…that’s the part that people never tell you about these places. Life was so much more interesting and adventurous before we nerfed the entirety of western civilization.

Alpine Slides were awesome. I have ridden them in at least 4 different locations, none of which was Action Park. When we wanted to race down the track, we had to give the carts ahead of us a lot of space. Usually, you would catch up. Action Park was awesome because you could push the edge, which is what you can't do anywhere any more. That's not true. Lots of people are pushing the edge. But you can't do it the way you could at Action Park.

The huge speed was insane. Went down it once it a pair of good old 80s flimsy material swimsuit and the damn suit ripped right along the side stitching. Shorts were halfway up my ass by the time I stopped. We'd always see the Cannonball Loop there but never knew why it was never open. I want to say it was still there as late as 1990 if not later and was right down the hill from the big speed slide if my memory serves me right. Was hurt a few times and had to leave once with a possible concussion but every time I got hurt it was because I was doing dumb s**t. The more we went the more risks we used to take. Absolute best ride though was the Colorado River Ride. Never did the Alpine slide since even as a dumb teen it looked dangerous as hell and I think you had to pay extra so that was a no go. Did the bungee jump and the aerodrome thing a few times but they were really anything special. Fun but took forever and was an extra charge.

There is actually a looping slide in Germany, in the Aquamagis Swimming pool, but it is under german regulation and therefore pretty safe. It is also not a "real" looping since it is titled to the side a bit

The alpine slide doesn’t even look dangerous to me because that’s how alpine slides look mostly in Switzerland. I‘ve been on them many, many times and never encountered an accident or a problem. Then again, we have trained staff…
