These are great if you happen to have a doorway where it fits well, isn't a door that ever needs to close, the doorway is tall enough to not hit you in the face and is tall enough to even do a proper pull up.
I've been using one for about 2-3 years and I weigh 110kg, it does damage above your door frame, just make sure it's done up right and isn't loose and you shouldn't run into any problems
same here i live in the philippines i got my pull up bar for 5$ usd and the quality is 100x better than the one in the video and has lasted me 3 years now.
Been using this exact bar for 6 months and have zero issues. The fact that all of your problems were nitpicks and user errors is a testament to how great this product is.
only annoying thing about them is that in a door frame with a hinged door it’ll only be able to face one way, lucky my house has a lot of sliding doors where it can go both ways
I’ve been using that same pull-up bar for over 10 years. The foam grips are all compressed down, but it is still sturdy. I think I had to tighten the screws once. It’s way better than those shower curtain rod pull-up bars that fall off. You can also put it on the ground for push-ups. Different grips, good if you have a wrist flexibility problem.
I have one of the older ones from the early 2010s. It's much more stable if you don't do any crazy movements and if your doorframe is sturdy. Im a 230lb 6ft guy and have done upwards of 7 pull-ups on this thing no problem.
exactly! plus, pull-up bars aren’t meant for swinging anyways (maybe some exercises are with swinging) but if you use it for JUST pull-ups, then it’s worth the $10
1: Reinforced doorframe (you should have this anyway) 2: Instead of putting it on the doorhinge (which may not portrude out of the wall depending on where you live), drill in safe slots for it. I've been using a similar one for over a decade, its stable and there isn't any wall or door damage.
I haven’t used it in a while, but I actually have one of these from the same brand and everything and it works really well for casuals. Even my dad is able to use it and he’s really heavy
That was my first pull up bar and the one I learned to do pull ups on. I still used it with weighted pull ups at 60kg bodyweight and 40kg added weight, but it felt sketchy at that point. Replaced it with a proper steel bar mounted to the wall years ago.
I've had this pull up bar for 5 or 6 years now and it's the best purchase I've done. It's still going great, the only reason a muscle up is hard is cuz of the wall being there not the actual bar.
I have that exact one. I’m 140lb and it’s slowly bending down the middle joint and the plastic part that goes against the wall is breaking down and cracking at this point. I e used it very regularly the past few months and I’ve had it for at least 3 years. For the price I think it’s worth it
I had a cheap pull-up bar which slipped while doing pull ups and I felt directly on my knees, getting a serious injury, over a year of recovery. So seeing you guys put so much trust on it hanging like that even upside down was anxiety inducing, you could have snapped your neck and died.
I've been using the exact same pull-up bar for over a year. It works as it's intended to however the bolts can get somewhat loose after a couple of months. Nothing to worry about but it's better to keep your bar straight so that you can train with proper form.
I’ve been using this same one for 3 years, it has not failed me. I would recommend 100%. It allows chin ups, pull ups, and neutral pull ups. This is a *pull up* bar so I would recommend just going to a park with a bar for muscle ups. Also his walls are thin that’s why it doesn’t fit as well for him. It works for 90% of walls.
Dude, my father bought this pull-up bar like 8 years ago, and it still stands strong...:) Although I should mention that it wasn't used as much as I am using it now (and been using it for 2 years since 2020)
It probably wouldn’t fit in your door because it wasn’t meant for that sized door, hence why in the description it should have measurements so you know if it could fit in your door. Also we gonna ignore the fact he said “I wouldn’t recommend it” when he literally showed nothing was wrong with it
