People looking older back in the day is real. I was floored when I learned the cast of Cheers was my age during Season 1. They look 50 easy. That Spahn card is a great example of someone looking 15 years older than they are.

Fun video, John. I appreciate these takes as it makes me step back and look at things in a different light. I think we chase cards so often and don't take a minute to think about if we actually like the cards we purchase, lol. This was eye-opening . . .. hahaha

For the most part, I'm on board with your thoughtful analysis on these stunning uglies! 🤣🤣🤣I'm not personally a fan of the 1953 Bowman Color Pee Wee Reese, but to each their own, of course. You make me think about "player run" vs "get only what you like the most" or "get only what you like the most that fits the amount you want to pay". The 1958 Brooks Robinson should be in every episode of worst cards. I imagine even his mother didn't like it.

Funny stuff. The thing with the Pee Wee Reese photo, is that it was taken for an issue of ‘this week’ magazine in 1946. It was later reused on another magazine still even years before they decided to use that shot for the Bowman card. So a card definitely wasn’t being planned when they staged that shot originally.

Keep doing these, they're fun! I love the '65 Spahn! Have you mentioned the 1952 Topps Clyde King? They really did him wrong. Compare that to his very nice '51 and '52 Bowmans.

One of my favorite thing about collecting is how some people love a card and others hate the card. I dig the Pee Wee Reese card. I also love the 82 Fleer Jack Morris card that people don't like. Also the Warren Spahn card looks like he's John Smoltz's Grand Father. Great video.

Well, at least you said "I'm sorry" on some of your, uh, strange picks for ugly cards. Apologies accepted! Take a look at 1958 Brooks Robinson. Topps really put it to young Brooksie, clicking the camera just as he was about to sneeze. 🤣

‘53 Bowman was ahead of its time, so I love the Reese. I would however agree on most of your other choices.

Balls calling out Jackie and Pee Wee, lol. I called you out last time on the '54 Bowman Campy, but will agree with you this time on that '62 Minoso. I hate airbrushed caps and that one is awful. They clearly just removed the Sox logo from his cap the year before.

I’m not gonna lie, the Nellie Foxx and the Warren Spahn are pretty bad. How did Topps think the image of the 52 Wilhelm was flattering at all? And who said yep, that’s what we are using for him? The 55 Bowman was much better.😁 fun video John.
