I always wished for Deoxys to made it in the game. It would had being cool to see him change forms in middle of the battle. Like doing a counter changes to defense form, doing a grab speed form and using strong attacks attack form.
This, In my opinion, is the absolute best spin-off in the Pokémon series, and it deserves so much more! Though have my favorite Pokémon in the game so I cant really complain, but still!
For me the Mystery Dungeon series will always be the best, however, the awesome reactions and animations of the pokemon made this game worthy of more recognition, it really felt like a battle in the anime, which most of us would've wanted to experience.
We need a sequel to this game. Like it's too good to not be added on. Imagine getting pokemon like Meowscarada, Zacian, Arcanine, Urshifu, Tinkaton freaking Koraidon and Miraidon added in!
I would like to see Golisopod in this game, he have to much potential as a samurai, I would also like to see Ultra Beasts like Buzzwole or Pheromosa who also have very good potential as fighters.
Golisopod definitely could be a valid fighter for this game, he's very bulky yet smooth so I'd imagine him having lower maneuverability in exchange for taking less damage and probably having wide and hard hitting attacks... I dunno I'm not a game designer
THAT'S WHAT I BEEN SAYING. The anime has showed off so many cool and versatile things Golisopod can do when it puts its full body to use. At the start of a round he could be able to use First Impression and after its used or after using a different move first the move becomes something different like X-Scissor or something. Could be a huge mix up for anyone who tries to predict it by holding shield so Golisopod can counter and go for a grab first instead. Oh and also speaking of grabs a cool animation would be if he grabs the opponent with his two armoured arms and ravages them with poison jab using his smaller arms like in the anime. It would also just look really cool if he holds his two arms in front of himself while his shield is up, and for his counter he could point his head downwards to block attacks with his shell while holding an arm behind him then swinging it forward like an uppercut after the counter ends. He could also do a bunch of other stuff like firing pin missiles out of his shell for a ranged attack, forming blades out of water to strike with using liquidation, maybe even another grab animation for duel phase where he forms liquidation blades in all 6 of his arms and attacks with them like a samurai. I guess his burst form could just be holding 6 liquidation blades in every arm at all times cuz we're going for a samurai feel here which gives his jabs more reach to them and his shell could also get a shinier tint to it. Emergency Exit could also be represented in a burst attack or something where after he attacks he rushes backwards for some distance, fires pin missiles out of his shell for some damage, forms a small waterfall under his arm, slowly reaches into it and pulls a huge liquidation blade out of it, then rushes through the opponent and does that funny anime thing where after he puts the sword away the opponent is sliced and explodes like a water geyser but instead of putting the liquidation sword away it just deforms back into regular liquid water and drops to the ground as a puddle. Oh and also after the opponent explodes he just stays there in the same pose while the water from the explosion rains down on him as the burst attack ends because that looks edgy and badass. Damn they should hire me for these ideas fr
I’ve noticed that most (not all) of the Pokémon in Pokkén are ones made popular by the anime. But even when narrowing that down, there’s still a lot of Pokémon to choose from.
I would definitely love to see the new Gen Pokemon like Gholdengo and maybe even Iron Valient, but also old ones such as Zeraora, Swampert, Typhlosion….
They can play around the fact that Gholdengo is just a bunch of coins stacked together to form the Pokemon, like he taking various shapes and even disolving into coins on occasions like when hit or when dodging attacks, with some funny details of he making sure to not lose his belt and chest as he flows like water xd, similar to Eliza from Skullgirls Also yes please! I love Swampert, he my favorite starter :3
I played this game too. Love the animations! The animations are better than any other pokemon game. Just the DLC is too expensive, but I hope there are more DLC and new pokemons
Still imagining playing as both Krookodile and Swampert, possibly even Archeops (although, my idea of Archeops in the game is quite complex). They clearly never forgot about Swampert, considering that the winter ferrum town has the whole Swampert line including the mega evolution being constructed in the background. Alongside that, the normal town has all three Hoenn starters as toys on the fountain. Krookodile could be somewhat of a mix between Scizor and/or Charizard being slow but filled with unbridled power when in close range.
Highly agree bro! Hopefully when the new Pokken comes out, we get fighters like Zeraora, Cacturne, Ursaring, Infernape.. etc. There's so many Pokemon to choose from! 😄🤞🏼
I would love to see Hitmonlee and Chesnaught. Hitmonlee would have good range given that he can extend his legs and Chesnaught is literally based on the Tank class in rpg games, so I would love to see how they play.
i think the best thing about pokken is it characterized those 21-23 pokemon to fit typical fighter game archetypes (and i am here for it!! lmao its fun to see) somehow i lost my copy (complicated story), but id actually pick it up again if i would lol
They made a DLC?! I Remember my family got me pokken tournament on the family Wii U. I always remember the feeling of winning a battle with gengar, chandelure and lucario.
We DEFINITELY needed more content to Pokenn, the potential current Pokémon that can be added (My Gen 9 picks would definitely be Armorouge and Ceruledge) is limitless at this point, considering there’s over 1000 of em now.
They really should've added Swampert, Greninja, Lopunny, Mawile and Snorlax at the very least but unfortunately we never got those Pokémon. Maybe a sequel will give us that. Overall my biggest problem with Pokemon outside of character roster is the overall content in the game and it cost so much money at launch. It also doesn't help that it first came out on Wii U and Nintendo themselves do not want to believe in it anymore.
Subspace was my absolute favorite thing as a kid and made me try all the franchises I never played before! Also, Tabuu's OHKO move is the reason I never got the final achievement of beating boss rush on Expert
i never got into Pokken but i have played it a couple times and i really liked it. Sad that the dlc was terrible. I agree that they should've gave more pokemon to choose from
Agreed. The Dlc characters were awesome, with sick movesets and animations, but the price was way too high. It's like they knew they wouldn't with the Dlc waves and hence the high price. We definitely need a sequel, but doubt we'll get it, since the game did so badly on sales
A weird but cool suggestion as a playable mon, would be Onix. It would be the largest playable character by a good chunk but I feel like it would make for a good mix between spacer and grappler, being a giant snake and all
The fact that Hitmonchan Hitmonlee, and hitmontop aren't in this game, is 100% shameful. But if I had to choose a pokemon I'd want to play more then any other. It would be Lugia without a doubt.
Mmm... I think that Pokken has to many "humanoid" characters. Imagine to play as a character who is a snake (Milotic o Serperior) or a bird (Pidgeot or Staraptor) or a big beast (Mamoswine or Avalugg) or a horse (Musdale or Rapidash)
I think Hawlucha would of been Perfect for this game, since it's quite literally a Luchador. t Has so much Personality and FIghting Spirit, and not added it in the DLC felt like miss opurtunity. I also think it would be really funny seeing this tiny pokemon kick A** I think it's moves would be Karate Chop, High Jum Kick, Cross Chop, Iron Head, Focus Blast, Brave Bird and Ofc Flying Press
Bought the WiiU game for the amiibo Shadow Mewtwo, played like 5 times, never picked it up again lmao. But I’m usually like that for most spin-off Pokémon games
I think that's because he was in Smash, the only characters that were in Pokken and Smash both were Pikachu, Charizard, Lucario, and Mewtwo, 4 of the go to poster boys of the franchise, I always wondered why Pokken got Decidueye and not Incineroar, then Incineroar got revealed for Ultimate and then it made sense. Greninja wasn't one of the faces of Pokémon till a few years later so I guess they didn't think there were enough Greninja fans to be worth the effort of making him, but then they made Croagunk so take that as you will.
Personally, I'm fine with what the DLC was, but they could've added them in better. An example, we get 1 DLC instead of 2, containing Aegislash and Blastoise, new supports, additional clothing options, and a new stage. This would be delivered in a new DLC story where you meet two new characters that played in a side story. During the side story, you had the choice of picking one of the two newcomers to play as, each one having either Aegislash or Blastoise. You would then have to play in the Ferrum League and eventually face the other trainer with the other Pokemon on a hard difficulty. Defeating that trainer will unlock something new in the game. You'd get a lot more content and have to work for a few things to get the full reward. But that's just my opinion. That being said, I think having an Electabuzz would be a fun fighter, as well as a Sableye and Inkay support. Sableye could act as a pokemon that instantly takes away a 5th of your opponent's HP with Nightshade, while Inkay could switch the Battle Phases with Topsy Turvy or even negate the boosts in the extra battle modes.
I feel like the price divided by roster is a bit reductive, and comparing it to another fighting game would be a fairer comparison. Namely I want to look at Guilty Gear Strive a currently very popular fighting game, which was also $60 USD at launch. Strive's base roster is at only 15 characters and buying a single character is $7. Buying 2 Characters would be $14, and then consider the 2 sets of support pokemon that come with, $15 for Pokken's DLC is pretty reasonable. It is a bit more expensive than DBFZ's $5 per character, but not nearly enough to be a rip off for a fighting game character. In fact the worst part probably is the fact that Pokken only had the 1 pack of DLC for years before being dropped from the VGC for a pair of mobile games in GO and Unite
That's not on Namco Bandai, that's on Nintendo/The Pokemon Company. If they wanted more, they would have asked for more. Which is admittedly a damn shame.
Sorry I forgot to include Greninja! Greninja would have a Naruto style of combat. It's Super would have Greninja change into Ash-Greninja, and it's finisher would be the "Aura Shuriken" used during the Kalos League finals back in XYZ. also uses of Mat Block and Substitute would be keen to the moveset.
I would like to see the addition of Paradox pokemon like Iron Valiant and Roaring moon, or even brute bonnet. There's a lot of pokemon from Scarlet/ Violet that can get added into Pokken's sequels. Even some pokemon like Grappleoct or Corviknight from sword and shield can look like great additions to the game
It would be pretty sick to have an open world mmorpg where you are a Pokémon . . You can level up . . Evolve . . PvP . . I think if they completely flipped the game on it’s head , got rid of trainers . . . A lost land of only Pokémon . Would be doooope .
I remember this, enjoyed it a lot, mainly the campaign mode since I've never been a fan of pvp in general. I remember the first character I gravitated to was Sceptile and I actually wound up maining him, was a struggle but eventually I figured him out and then discovered that he is apparently one of the hardest characters in the game to learn and isn't beginner friendly, news to me I guess. I got a kick out of it for the 2 years I played it for, just wish it had more characters since a roster of less than 30 is kinda microscopic, even by 2017 standards. Got a really long wishlist of characters for a hypothetical sequel including characters like Zeraora, Gallade, Greninja, Infernape, Zoroark, and Midnight Lycanroc, but I had put that list together before Sword and Shield (I think before Let's Go! even) so there are others that I could lump on like Sirfetch'd, Obstagoon, Koraidon, Ceruledge, Melmetal, Toxtricity, Iron Valiant, Grimmsnarl, Zacian, and Hisuian Samurott, that's not even a quarter of it, like I said the list is pretty dang long.
It’s such a shame that such a high quality Pokémon game did so poorly. Especially when SV have broken records for TPC with minimal effort invested into them.
I'm still waiting on the news when Pokemon Home will finally be update in which date in Spring so I can transfer Pokemon from other games onto both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Because I'm getting a feeling that they're delaying it on purpose because they wanted to update on fixing the bug errors on the games which they have mention before.
Landorus should have been in the game imo, being as iconic as he's always been competitively it would have made sense to have him in a fighting game, and his nature could have allowed foe an interesting playstyle in which he could switch between forms to adapt to the current situation/matchup. Now I also may be saying that because I'm an absolute Lando fanatic
Worst DLC ever was Sword/Shield where they pretending to give the foolish and blind players the "other half of the game" which still doesn't even make up to half a Pokemon game. Smh.
@Lithosagym Fan - Horrible designed "new" Pokemon and Pokemon that should have been in base to begin with. - Dynamax is the worst gimmick in Pokemon history and everybody hated it, and if you did enjoy it you're part of the problem with Pokemon. - You're right, there's been nothing but bad faith in Pokemon for the past two generations seeing that they've been nothing but absolute disappointment.
I personally would've liked Char Y and Mewtwo Y to be added to the game. I was really confused when only Char X and Mewtwo X was only in the game. Pretty biased if you ask me 🤷🏾
would love to see kingambit in this. as far as more weird and specific pokemon though, i want arbok and krookodile and samurott and ones like that. would be cool if they had dlc packs for different generations, maybe adding 2 or 3 pokemon from that generation. smash ultimate really raised the expectation for roster sizes
well that's what happens when you get a wii-u ported game to the switch dressed as a new experience, this was also released back when rereleasing wii-u games was the go to for Nintendo back around launch and a couple years after it
They should've done something to keep the poken community involved like voting for characters you want to see or have events that were at least a bit interesting Really wish we got Falinks cause it could have a sick moveset
Always wanted lopunny in the game, remember lopunny in a past Pokemon fighting game forgot the name and that was cool to see I would love to see lopunny and it’s mega in a fighting game
Honestly i wish they added infernape that one anime scene when it used its blaze ability would've been a sick speaical move and so much could've been done with them
I loved playing this with family & friends. In my opinion, it was a fun game, but I wish they continued updating it and mabe brought it to the switch but made the game better & added more characters, like there are over 150 pokemon in the universe, so idk why they didn't add any more characters. Its just sad to see them giving up on the game.
I never liked the addition of Middle and First evolutions to the roster, for example, Braixen is such a missed opportunity of implementing Delphox to the roster, while Coragunk could have been a Toxicroak.
Preevoled Slakoth would be cool to play as! I'd imagine it being able to dodge seamless and have an unpredictable fighting style that is simlair to drunken fist 👊 🍾
Always felt like Hitmonlee, HitmonTop and HitmonChan never really get any love, and should’ve been in the game. A boxing and kickboxing fighter would’ve been perfect! For a sequel, I would love to see Annihilape, and both Urshifus.
.... that's not how figthing games dlc work xd, they are always quite expensive. In mk11 they were 6 dolars each with nothing included while the game was 60
God I need to get this game, it's so fucking good, I played the Demo a bunch and also when you could test it out I played the shit out of it... I think once I get my switch repaired that's the first game I'm gonna get! That said,I always wondered why the hell there were only 2 dlc characters, and why one of them is the lowest of the low tiers I'm a darkrai main btw, bitch is FUN!
