Thank you!! Exactly the kind of thing I wanted to find out about auto tuning - especially the great insight at the end about how one needs to make sure the values are averaged out in an area and how the autotune doesn’t understand going into a decel.
I don't comment often but this vid has been very helpful in me tuning my turbo snowmobile. This and few other vids have helped this novice learn a lot. Many thanks.
Awesome info. I'm just getting into tuning a little with my pcv. I noticed some of the canned maps for my dyna had those weird + - jumps cell to cell that didn't look right to me and I know very little about tuning. I "smoothed" those out like you said. More videos on the PCV adjusting would be great.
This is hilarious. I've been playing with automotive standalones for the last few years. A friend of mine has an iron 883 that I've convinced him to do a big bore and I've been trying to research what sort of afr's those "sophisticated" combustion chambers like. I think this "tuners" tune shows why there isn't a lot of information readily available hahaha. I appreciate your insight in this video on other's mistakes.
Thanks 4 the video brother. I've been curious about how the Dynojet software works, thinking about going with a powervision for my Harley. This helps me a bunch. See you around - I'm in Eugene too.
Thank you so much for explaining averaging !!! , changed my rich lean percentage to 5% to see why my 17 R6 was jumping from -20 to +20 at 3500 rpm at the 5% to 10 %. I know at 5% its going to tape like 20 commit changes. The issue i was having even before i got my ecu flashed was that the bike would start to jerking like a drop in loss of power feeling. Also i now disable auto tunes when i have a passage on the back, that really throws things off. also would too much downshifting cause auto tunes to act funny ?
Great video especially for a novice like myself. What do you think of the ThunderMax ECM replacement module? Doing my homework to ready myself down the road on upgrading and tuning my 2018 Fat Bob....Cheers
In the lower cells (RPM and TP) ecu is running closed loop so the values in those cells do not matter as the ecu ignores the tables provided by the PCV.
Thx I really learned alot i know its just an over view but was helpful. You ever get that shop because you mentioned oregon/Washington and im in oregon
I am interested in learn how to tune my bike properly and am curious if you have any other vids for doing so? I have a build LTR450 with heavy head work(port/deck) high comp piston and web cam. I have the pc3 with auto and it runs super lean from idle to about 5k. The map was way off so i let her drink on the top rpms and it got rid of the sputter but i still need to raise the it 5k and under
Hey Daniel could you please do a video solely for auto tune. What you suggest and how you would run it if it were your bike. Great video thanks for all the uploads and go fast parts
Hi! I m not a tuner, but getting my head around all them tech stuff and I believe first thing to do with PAIR equipped bikes is disable PAIR when using a dyno, especially if you re using autotune...
I knew there was something wrong with my tune, you coined it with "lotto numbers" and the abruptness problem I have with the bike. I will go ahead at try the "averaging" method that you suggested, and it was not autotune it was a dyno tune that the previous owner paid $600 for.
Heyman. Cuervo! Thanks for all your info and videos. I'm wondering if you can lead me to a good map for my 05 road king that has a screaming eagle 96 big bore kit with se 203 cams and se air cleaner.
Hi. My Triumph Rlll got PCV and Autotune. Into each header I did fix a bun in order tuning each cylinder apart. Now the PCV mainscreen outlay doesn't allow me to trim separately each cylinder. Issue for me is now how to get the main PCV screen outlay installed for the individual fuel targeting and trims ! Tnx for any advice.
Your video is grist to my mill. I manually slightly change the results even of a dynamometer. A harmonic wave-like alignment of the values in the matrix of gas position and speed ensures a harmonious and controllable power delivery. It may be true then that the absolute single peak value is not reached anymore, but due to the better driveability there are better lap times.
i have the power commander FC with a wideband O2 sensor and guage on my R6. it was a big learning cure but i just logged and adjusted cells based on A/F ratio when i would do runs with a netbook strapped to my back seat. took me about a year to figure it out. with that said i just about crapped myself when i saw this map. who ever made this map has a lot to learn.
@Are you asking how I physically wired it up? in the comment I left I did state I strapped a Netbook to the back seat. I used a serial to USB adapter and ran the signal wire to the adapter. then use what ever software you want to log you A/F ratio

@@swingdaddy2126 ahh, ok, serial tu USB adapter.. Prolific? Wich software did you use? I am between Dinojet Auto tune or Wideband and datalog..
@ well if you have dynojet autotune then you should be able to log with that. pretty sure If I recall properly you can set a A/F target and it will tune each cell to hit that A/F but also log the changes.
Hey there! Thank you so much for this video. I have a 02 Gsxr 600 with Race air filter, full Yoshimura and Power Commander 3, which is running a map from dynojet for a full Yoshimura that kinda looks like that, I’ll over the place. You don’t happen to have a map that you could share or some values I’d be looking for would you ? TIA!
Hi I noticed that you highlighted table sections and were able to higher and lower number percentage all at once. How did you do that I've been trying to work that out and can't. Could you please tell me
I'm buying a pc5 in a couple of days for my 2006 raptor 700r, is there any help you could give me about installing it and the mapping process? I'm a female and still learning. 🙂 I am running dmc force 4s dual exhaust. Everything else is stock. I do want to get a aftermarket air filter too.
Generally the Map Pointer will jump between two or four cells and if there are huge differences the fueling will jump slower than the fuelling of the ecu so it will run like shit. The Autotune will correct when you shut the throttle as it laggs a bit so find out where you climb through the table in neutral and zero out the afr values or it will autocorrect down. The bike will shoot out some fuel in this dump zone which tells the autotune that its too rich and it will lean out the mixture. 23:40 onward
You mentioned getting bad trims when you decelerating. I want to autotune a 2014 CBR600RR. Should I pull the clutch while decelerating to so I do not have engine braking? Plus while autotuning should I drive the bike normally and just try to hit all throttle positions in all gears?
Mabe the guy who set this up was trying to buy the bike so he was fucking with this guy who owned the bike ! That's how people are ! What a friend ! Tring to screw him out of the bike !
I had silber bench Flash mine in 2016 Road like crap when I got it back They wanted me to send it back to them I was thinking hell no sent it to Evo got their stage three and ran great Fixing to upgrade to the newer cam and injectors And go with the ws190
This scenario is kinda true of most aftermarket mods people make. Most have little to no clue what they're doing and should leave it to the professionals.
Great vid…very helpful. You can zero out 0% throttle past like 2k. Same for 80-100% under 5k…it’s not possible to actually b in that condition. I had a 2012 KAW Ninja 1000, that I had set up with a PC5, & O2 sensor, so instead of trying to adjust %fuel, you set the air/fuel ratio & let the ECU make the adjustments while you ride. Ideal air/fuel is like 12.7. I leaned it in the cruising range, & enriched it above 50% throttle & 5k RPM. Bike ran great. Was smooth. Fun bike to tune on.
hello i would like to know if the msd blaster fi 2006 raptor 700 can be played with in a dyno to get more power out of it or i need another one that can be. thank you
Just because something says it's "automatic", that doesn't mean it's idiot proof (or lack of knowledge/experience proof). In the right hands automation can be great but in the wrong hands??? I learned Dynojet Tuning Link over twelve years ago (on motorcycles) and I quickly figured out that the settings Dynojet recommended for each/every bike wasn't always right (and can be way off on modified engines)... Since I have also tuned many Stand Alone ECUs on bikes (which includes seeing hundreds of Data Logs) I can actually visualize what the "Fuel Flow" (and or 3-D view of that table) looks like = UGLY!!!
Sometimes at low rpm and the use of bigger injectors the maps will require negative numbers. Fuel delivery would be greater then stock due to injector sizing.
Easy: Rich, more fuel than needed. Lean less fuel than needed. Put another way rich too much fuel. Lean too little fuel. HARD: Too much and too little is based on the chemistry of fuel burning. What is burning? Exothermic reaction where oxygen is used to create a different chemical and heat gets released. The heat creates the pressure in the combustion chamber. The pressure does the work to make horsepower that moves the vehicle forward. How to release the most heat? Get just enough oxygen molecules combined with the vaporized gas molecules so in the end no oxygen or gas is left. Complete combustion. This is the stoichiometric ratio, 14.7. 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel. Higher than 14.7, too lean. Lower than 14.7 too rich. Hope this helps.
I just bought a 06 raptor it idle fine but when I hit the throttle it wants to die I put a new spark plug in and it was black would this video help me out
What's your thought on power commandor 5 auto afr. Example if I sent my Harley sportster at 13.4 then select auto tune. So it should maintain the computer should continuely adjust automatically.
@9:29, you say this is fine at full throttle. IMHO, you cannot be sure. With as bad as the mapping is, you really don't know. It is plausible, based on the numbers. But as bad as much of the other mapping is, the full throttle may not be any good, either.
I'm not familiar with this software but he could've hit the smooth button!!!... I've never tuned a bike but would have done a way way better job. Whoever tuned the bike should just give me his dyno lolololol
@@MrCuervoRacing It won't work well with the newer Dynojet Power Core software(s). The computer I had that worked 100% fine with Win PEP 7 choked when I upgraded to Power Core 😜
