For the odd person who knows how to skip story flags in video games, but hasn't had, "buy a Dried Shroom, then a Dusty Hammer," seared into their memory for two decades.
Maybe it'd crash paper mario if you made the toad clip out of bounds instead... Possible due to D R A W D I S T A N C E.... It MIGHT crash some versions of the game
@@TaoScribbleThe're probably happy that someone cares enough to still be reverse-engineering the game after all these years, and embarrassed that all their spaghetti code is coming to light.
Generally most glitches in many Mario or Zelda games seem super difficult for casual players, in my opinion. Shows the care the devs put into the games.
@@fabricatorzayac I disagree. "Fun and interesting" does not in any way equate to "healthy and productive". Id like the human race to be happy, without putting itself or other species in danger.
@@fabricatorzayac Well obviously then the meaning of health and productivity is to attain positive emotions and feelings, right? To be happy and satisfied with your life. Now. Where does this conflict with what i said a month ago? We dont need to cross obvious moral lines in order to be healthy or productive. We dont need to stop caring about the world and all the other animals on it, in order to be healthy or productive.
How do you follow up a 40+ minute glitch video that is extremely tedious and ultimately pretty pointless? With a much shorter, even more pointless, but still agonizing out of bounds glitch! Also, I'm trying something new today - if you're feeling generous and wish to support my videos through Patreon, check out this link! Everything's explained in more detail there. I also wanted to thank you all for the overwhelmingly positive response to my last video, it really means a lot to me. Who knew there would be so much love for Paper Mario 18 years after its release :) www.patreon.com/Stryder7x
@@buddymmx3936 It's not rage. Those are the Eyes of the First Stage of Grief: Denial. 2 seconds before skipping right past bargaining, and exploding straight into anger.
The technology goes faster each day, I cannot believe that few years ago It need to take 416 years to perform a glitch in a desert and nowadays only 78 minutes.
*Paper Mario Ridiculous%* *Rules for this category: Requires you to perform the most ridiculous glitches in the game possible. You must use **_all_** of them required in the route*
My ridiculous%: do badge duplication, then play up to this point. Do the glitch from the video. After that, play until chapter 7, and then perform blue key skip first try. If you fail start all over from the beginning. After that beat the game. Thats my version.
Early Train was actually found the exact same day as Blue House Skip. I was asleep so I don't know which one came first, lol. It was found by a Japanese TASer whose name I don't remember. That same night I found that you could Toad Clip into Chapter 4 as well. So in a game where it wasn't known to be able to skip chapters, three different methods of skipping multiple chapters were found the exact same night.
@@Stryder7x It was antaasas. This is the original find video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WP_aZltS3uY.html Compare upload date with BHS's - also Dec 4th 2012.
At this point im convinced that one day we will end up discovering something like a glitch that replaces a partner with an npc or switch the music anywhere.
"What did you do today? "I went to the park. You?" "Oh, me. I just spent an hour pushing a man without talking to him so I could jump really high to get into an invisible set of ancient ruins."
“Alright, so if we can find a way to do this, we might be able to open up a faster path for speed runners” “...so the glitch only takes about 78 minutes for this part” rip for real though, another dope stryder vid, keep it up!
Logical Brain: "Paper Mario is an N64 game with predictably simplistic graphics. As such, it doesn't really matter whether you're watching regular or HD footage of it." Simple Brain: "But the 2160p button is RIGHT THERE"
stay calm stay in control.. no need.. stay.... calmmmm.... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHGH!!! YOU JUST- WHY, WHY DO YOU DO THIS??? AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH-
This actually sounds like it could be useful for some kind of low% speedrun, actually. Low% All Stars or something like that. It'd be an awful category, what with pushing an NPC for at least an hour, not to mention who knows what other awful tricks. But it'd be interesting, honestly.
I did the early toy train one and got softlocked (just FYI for new people [like me] to glitching and don't want a softlock). If you use the toy train and then go to the blue area at the right where the goomba is and defeat him, you can get the storeroom key. Then use the key and go in the empty storeroom. Then return to the road and the train is gone and you get softlocked. I'm very sure this isn't a new glitch or anything. P.S. Saving will create one of the easiest to make evil save files.
I know this is an old video but you're my favorite creator on this platform. I didn't care at all about paper Mario before I found this channel but now I do, and I love watching everything you make. Thanks for just. Making good videos and showing how cool this game is
Not related to the video, but related to YOU, Stryder! You're referenced in a Cave Story mod! The Machine Gun Hack. ...just thought I'd tell you. And yeah, it requires you trying to break the game to do it
I’ve watched every strider video many times, and was very confused when this wasn’t something I’d remembered. Turns out it’s new. Neat! Anyway, great video as always strider.
You can hear Stryder's tone shift as he talk shows about different things in the video. It's kind of fascinating. When he talks about most Paper Mario things, it's with a calm enthusiasm and well-earned confidence. Anytime he talks about this glitch, however, it is with seething hatred, sometimes with exhaustion and exasperation thrown in for flavor. It is the voice of a man who has devoted years to this game, learning and discovering many a quirk and exploit, and who has dedicated a portion of this time to what amounted to a waste, something that benefits none and only brings a thinning of patience in its wake. The thirst for discovery has uncovered something horrid but ultimately irrelevant, and this is the man who tells the world of it.
Ahhhh.... 78 minutes of exploding on a Toad. After the seemingly neverending hiatus while you worked on Badge Duplication, I feared you wouldn't have more content for videos! Glad to see more from you! I love stuff going in-depth about these glitches, and some day I worry that Paper Mario will run out of content for you to show us. There's only so many games so accessible at a TAS level of depth with current technology, & even fewer with the depth of gameplay & glitchyness as Paper Mario.
Your videos are so well-explained, and I love how you document everything leading up to what's in the video in the description, with links and credits where possible. You're not just a gamer or a RU-vid. You're a damn good historian.
This is freakin' awesome. I'm glad I discovered your vids man. Paper Mario was easily one of the greatest games I may ever enjoy and you dissecting it is very entertaining. Paper Mario needs an MMO
I finally caught a Stryder video. He spent over an hour pushing a toad in order to fall out of bounds and fell asleep soon after succeeding. Great entertainer he is!
