I love it when someone stands in the back and smirks at someone getting a harsh critique ......and then proceeds to get their tattoo torn apart next lol
They shouldn't allow a canvas to proceed when they've got bleeding razor burn or any other surprise condition that screws over the artist. Katie's tattoo was better than the others. If a client like that showed up at a shop, they'd be refused and told to come back after they'd healed.
I've only had one tattoo but even I knew to give the artist as much heads up about my scars as possible. They were all healed but that leads to a bumpy canvas. She was very accommodating though
What a fucking Idiot, wants a tattoo for life, shaves himself with a old rusty kitchen knifes looking Like a allergic crab and comes to the Studio???? Wtf?? Dont shave urself before tattoo
There’s was a canvas in an earlier season that had some type of rash on his leg (not sure what the reason was behind it) and the judges decided he shouldn’t have been tattooed (and that was just for a flash challenge), they definitely should have done this is this scenario too
I like how they'll get mad at a tattoo that actually looks decent but will point out a focal point (the finger) is missing a whole joint and they say that its okay bc his color is vivid
"My canvas was gushing blood, veins bulging, skin ripping, dancing tango mid tattooing ... " "To be ink master you need to be able to handle these difficulties"
The fact that Garrett went home even though his tattoo looked far better than Amanda's is insane to me. They all said her tattoo looked bad but still kept her? What sense does that make!
Since I began watching this, Anthony has very quickly become my favorite contestant. Hes very evenly mannered. Friendly, respectful, consistent, driven, and understanding. Pleasant episode every time he's on it.
I get so annoyed when people get sent out because their tattoo got ruined by the canvas, they need to get people who don't shake around, it's so unfair
You just genuinely never know. My friend Chris is tatted to the gills up top. I went with him to get a tat on his calf and man couldn’t sit still because it bothered him so much. It’s a lot harder for some and every spot is different for every client.
That’s what I thought! A bad canvas should have never been allowed to continue on ink master and the should have chosen canvases that could handle a tattoo
It’s not like anyone can control or predicts, tattoos are meant to hurt. The problem is the nature of the show it’s self. They have to do big tattoos quicker than normal, and without many breaks since they have time limits
I agree. Her’s at least was readable to me. Tbh Amanda should’ve been sent home since she was in the bottom for the second time in a row while Linzy was only in the bottom that one time that sent her home.
How Lil D managed to skurt past getting eliminated like 5 times will never cease to amaze me, he didn’t do 1 tattoo that was even close to being good 😐
I mean to be fair, when he did the tattoo with the half and half face, it would’ve been way better if the canvas didn’t move a whole lot like she did, hell I believe it would’ve been one of the best out of everybody else’s tattoos. But then again I’m not a tattoo artist so what do I really know🤷🏾♂️
@@torrellallen3165 İam not tattoo artist,but i agree with you.İ liked his design.İam a regular artist.And i think half/half face tattoo was solid.Readable at least,not invisible like Matts.
Honestly, what I'm seeing here is judges being harsh on the contestants they don't like. Doesn't only apply to this video but pretty much every single Ink Master episode I've seen.
@@ivonned32 it had nothing to do with liking the judges. If they judged blindly in the episodes, then it'd be a fair critique and unbiased. I saw episodes where the judge's critiques made no sense whatsoever, and some people with the best tattoos went home. Like that Ash girl. She got to stay when she had TERRIBLE tattoos
Exactly lol! Telling her her tattoo should've been yellow instead of white is so...weird? That's a personal preference and has absolutely nothing to do with the technique/line work at all.
@@mudbray6970 🙄 no shit Sherlock. What I mean is that they nitpick over little things when there are sometimes big things that are obviously not correct or not done well.
@Colorful Animations Yeah I guess that would be the only explanation that would make sense. I still feel like he got robbed that angel tat was pretty bogus IMO, doesn't catch the eye at all.
No I agree that angel was hideous it looked like a poorly done statue and even the "good" hand looked awful! Garrett's maze had some wobbly line work but at least it was aesthetically pleasing her tattoos was just straight up ugly!
I always laugh when I hear ppl say white ink will turn yellow...I personally have white ink in my skin that's still basically white after over a decade...Nunez always showing that he doesn't have what it takes to be ink master lol
White ink will turn yellow. For most tattoos. He didn't just make that up. You have white Ink? So you're not a tattoo artist? I'm sure you know better.
@@tannerp216 I actually am a tattoo artist with a decade experience and I've seen white turn yellowish in some skin tones but I have white that's still perfectly white that was done in 2009 and I've seen plenty older that's still basically white...maybe eggshell but still recognizable as white ink
@@seanmichael8744 I love how ppl just assume you don’t know what you’re talking abt😂 I’m not a tattoo artist but have been in shops my whole life so I feel like I know a decent amount abt them
@@erykperez1002 He's famous for being on multiple reality TV shows not for his artistry...he's a personality not an artist and I don't need to be famous to be able to see the difference between white staying white and it turning yellow lmfao
Garret totally got screwed over, he was right that his tattoo was the most intensive and he did a really good job! Especially for the time he was given.
PLLSSSS get canvases who are already tattooed and can handle pain. Its not a fair fight when the canvas cant sit still or walks out and you dont bring another in for the artist. Leaving them to either have an unfinished tatt or tattoo themselves.
@@lexdraws1729 they kind of are.. if you shaved an area hours before you came, your skin develops irritation and gets bumpy so that's why it's best to shave it right before the tattoo. So the irritation of the razor burn has less time to manifest with the irritation of the tattoo
5:20 I love that steve actually pulled him aside to talk to him. Telling him the linework was off in front of the canvas wouldve made them nervous and its way too common on this show for people to critique harshly right in front of the canvas
It shows that he can’t tattoo darker skin nor can he really do the basics of tattooing. I feel bad for that person because they have to go somewhere else to get it covered or finished by someone who tattoos dark skin.
The canvas actually made a video on why it looked like that. When photographing the tattoos, they use blue lights, and it doesn't work well with darker skin cause its more reflective. The tattoo itself wasn't the problem edit: spelling
Mmmm, I don't know, I think Katie got robbed. I mean, it wasn't the best tattoo ever, but I thought that Skull-In-The-Computer piece was overall pretty darn solid.
Matt's canvas actually made a video of why he was eliminated, it was the way they photographed the tattoo. They use Blue lights when they take their pictures and it doesn't work well with dark skin. Lil D should've gone home.
@@ivonned32 The term is _sore_ loser and it was the canvas that made the video, not Matt. Considering some seasons involve a canvas jury, it’s not strange or petty of her to make a video talking about her tattoo.
@@prestonorrick3498 I was dismissed from 2 apprenticeships and the single reason cited was that I didn't have (and don't want) tattoos on myself. And you might assume I had a shitty attitude or something but I'm super laid back and agreeable at work - it's a genuinely catty atmosphere in every shop I've stepped in and the instant they learned I had no ink, it was an uphill battle. I wanted to tattoo because it really suits my art and I love the idea of telling a story in image on someone's body, but don't have the want for anything on my own body. Too much ego in this industry to swallow that pill.
I liked that tattoo as well. In my opinion Amanda should have been sent home over her since she was in the bottom a second time while it was Linzy’s first and only time in the bottom.
it also depends on your skin tone and undertone, tattoos aren't just paint over the skin, once they heal they have a layer of skin on top of them that filters all of it. if you have a really fair skin with rosey undertones, white ink is not going to look that yellow. but the majority of people that get tattoos with white ink in them, once they age a few years, that ink doesn't look as bright as it was right after they got it done.
Some of y’all have never seen a goat in person. Mike gave that thing a dog nose. Goat noses are more like slits that angle back, while dogs have that boxy shape with the two circular nostrils facing forwards. The judges were right.
I see a lot of comments on how these are all better than season ones best tattoos, but I feel like tattooing has improved so much since that it has to be judged more severely. They’re competing for a hundred thousand dollars and this was what they thought was acceptable for that, this is a competition for a winner that is adaptable to every client that walks in their door
the only issue in koko’s geisha is that the hairline is crooked, the face is in a 2/4 profile but the hair looks like it’s facing head on. other than that it looks really cool
2:51 can we talk about how the hair is facing forward while the women’s actual face is at a 3/4 position? The whole thing just looks crooked and the top of the head is too big. Just not the way it should look at all. I would be annoyed if that tattoo were on me
I have yellow and white in my baby dragon tattoo and it is still yellows and white clearly ad my tat is well over 30 yrs. old .So those colors don't always fade.
I have a 2 year old clamshell tattoo with a yellow pearl with white highlights. The white highlights still pop and definitely haven't turned yellow, idk what Chris was talking about 🤨
I have keratosis pilaris which is why I won't get a tattoo on my arms or legs. It would look like the tattoo had the measles. I feel bad for the girl who had the guy with razor bumps. It had to be hard to do.
“I’m forever gonna be the cut judge. If you cut, you go.” I love that comment critique from Nunez. It’s the principles of Nunez I love! He is strict on the drawing skills of an artist. He’s is strict on line work. He’s is strict on cutting people because it’s a CUT.
Bruh these judges are so LMAOO I would like to see an ep where the judges are the ones tattooing and the contesters are the ones judging for once. These judges are so harsh, half of these tattoos doesn't even look that bad yet they go out of their way to shame the artists
People are saying the Geisha tattoo is good and it's very bad, the girl's hairline is facing me and the face is pointed at a different direction is just broken.
"having to tattoo something outside my comfort zone is really hard" never heard a more stupid line in a show about being the "master" at something. Why go on a show where you aim to show you're the best overall if you can't even tattoo different styles and body parts??! You're not a master if you can't do that. Imagine a chef saying on master chef "oh yeah, sorry, I don't know, I only cook French cuisine" smh...
I'm sorry but that goat is one of the most awesome, sick tattoos I've seen on this show. The tongue looks had but the drawing, the colors the shading ooooffffff i would get that in a heartbeat!!!
Is no one gonna mention how everyone essentially cheated and didnt understand what a pixel was, they all literally just put ridiculously similar checkerboards around regular art pieces
Ummm an angel escaping from a maze? Were they not aware that there is a greek myth where Daedalus builds a labyrinth for king Minos and then he and his son Icarus escape by building wings with wax and feathers? The entire reason we say 'don't fly too close to the sun' is because of this myth because Icarus did and the wax on his wings melted. Anyway....
