“I can’t respect not having tattoos” Just imagine. The judges see a tattoo, then say it’s technically perfect and wonderfully applied. Best tattoo they’ve seen in a long time. Oh wait. The artist himself doesn’t have any tattoos. Never mind. It was one of the worst tattoos they’ve ever seen. That’s absurd.

To this day it still pisses me off that they made it painfully obvious, Jaime got eliminated because he doesn’t have any tattoos.

Jamie Davies getting eliminated for not having any tattoos still pisses me off; the judges couldn't have been more transparent about why they booted him. The guest judge for that episode in particular really rubbed me the wrong way. Also I love how they and other tattoo artists complain about being discriminated against for having tattoos, yet they turn around and do the exact same thing to him just for not having any (and he actually does have one, it's just not visible without a black light).

The judges - “I really like Jessie’s wolf tattoo” Also the judges - “Jessie, you don’t have what it takes to be ink master”

Dave Navarro isn't a tattoo artist but because he has tattoos he's a judge? But Jamie gets eliminated because he didn't have tattoos? That's just dumb

Utterly ridiculous to judge a tattoo artist with 17 years' experience for not having tattoos. Imagine speaking to a surgeon or oncologist like that! GET OUT OF HERE WITH THIS BS! I found it hilarious that he came back in with the sharpie drawings, he responded to a harsh and ridiculous judgement with humour - i'd love to have him as my tattoo artist over that judge.

My boy Jamie got absolutely robbed. I'd let him tattoo me. Yeah he was bullied a bit at first, but he's an excellent artist, never in the bottom, and no tattoos wasn't deemed "elimination material" until Forrest decided it was.

The guest judge disliking Jamie purely because he doesn't have tattoos is disgusting and the other judges are pathetic for not standing up to him. Also, by the guest judge's logic, does a tattoo artist need to tattoo their entire damn body so they'll "understand what the canvas is going through", considering a palm tattoo is different than a hip tattoo? Okay I get what they were saying about Jamie, but like a good artist is a good artist. And he at that point had 17 years in the game. And was more than likely to have some awesome tattoos in his portfolio. And that should have been enough to earn respect. Like he made it that far in the competition already without having tattoos, so why did it matter that week?

Sad part to me is that Jamie does have a tattoo (I don't know if that was from before filming or after), its just not visible without the use of a black light which is honestly the coolest thing to me. Like if you're in a work environment where you have to have tattoos covered up, a black light tattoo works great because your coworkers and bosses can't see it, but you have one none the less. It frustrates me because he's a really gifted artist, but because he lacks tattoos he doesn't get treated like his peers. Honestly, if I saw a guy's portfolio when he has 17 years in the business and his tattoos looked like that, I wouldn't care if he had tattoos or not. As long as he takes care of his customers and can actually make a piece of art, who cares? It frustrated the hell out of me when they're like, "You can't be a respected tattoo artist without tattoos." I judge my artist by their portfolio and the work they do and experience. I don't judge them by what they look like, how many tattoos they have. I actually feel like they threw Jamie under the bus.

Watching season 2 in Netflix and very disappointed with the judges in the last few episodes. They let go 2 of the best tattooers and kept people that should had been gone.

The whole “no tattoos from a non tatted artist” is antiquated. I remember inked having a video talking about this. If your a great artist with a great tattoo portfolio,your life decisions don’t matter. Their art is what matters.
