Fun fact about 11:08 : The other actor in this is *Yasukaze Motomiya* , the face, model and voice of *Kosei Shishido* from Gaiden So that's technically *Kuze vs Shishido*
Little do people remember there's already a Yakuza live action film from 2007 (where the Kiryu/Majima shotgun standoff shown here comes from). Let's see how the new one turns out. Oh, and in case anyone asks "Why Yakuza 2007 movie Majima has the eye patch in the wrong eye?": Majima's actor himself was nearly blind in that eye, so they had to accommodate for him.
10:44 - 11:00 For context, the animations used in the clip are from Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise. Was a Fist of the North Star game made by the Ryu Ga Gotoku crew.
That heat attack with the knife is an animation mod extracted from an RGG game you haven't played yet, Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise. A must play for even those who don't know the anime and manga franchise.
11:26 you called out Kuze's actor, but sadly the clip didn't let you get a good shot of the guy with the clay bowl. That's Shishido's actor. It's so cool how they did movies together and how he was cast by RGG for Gaiden.
Before I got into Yakuza, from an outsider looking in, I was very confused. All I knew was Karaoke, fighting, and dancing minigame. It quickly became my favorite series of all time once I gave it a chance
Catch & return the bullet is a heat action from the PS3 spinoff game based on Hokuto No Ken. It's a crime that game never got a PC port. Same engine as 0 / K1, so it's probably just a publishing rights thing. RGG studios / the Yakuza formula was pitch perfect for this franchise. It's Anime Mad Max with all the over the top silliness & gore you imagine.
At 14:11 Crystal said "What Was That?" And o just wanted to let people know what that was from, its from a official Yakuza Film from Japan, its even avalable to buy in the US Amazon bit with subs
The last one was my submission 😂 Hope you liked it Crystal. Also, you did the animation of the pervert way to good. Love your YLYL videos, and your Yakuza Playthroughs ❤
Love that the implication in the clip at 2:06 is that either Kiryu decided to handicap himself by beggining this fight already hurt OR some of the kids actually managed to get a few hits in before they were defeated
I wish this compilation also had that one video where some old shirtless dude who looked like Kuze was in a casino or something got mad and then tried to fight security only for the famous boss introduction logo to show up to have his name and that he's now patriarch the "homeless" family.
I know I’m a month late but to answer your question I believe the guy at 1:45 was either Incyn or JFJ. They’re both friends with NeoCranium, all three are very underrated RU-vidrs.
Aaahhhh, settling down after a hard day with retail heck, and chilling with Ichi-chan and gang helps me out! I am also a Fire Emblem fan (especially the mobile game) 😊
10:53 That's not from any LAD game, that is from Hokuto No Ken: Lost Paradise, a game in the same vein as LAD but based on the Hokuto No Ken anime. Uses the same engine, same fighting style, is A LOT more brutal and is made by RGG. It's basically LAD but in post apocalyptic times. You should play it, it's fun
Yeah, it's called Hokuto ga Gotoku in Japan, was meant to be part of the series, most chars are voice acted by Yakuza voice actors, with Kuroda being Kenshiro and the game even has a Kiryu skin.
So, when will there be a playthrough of the other two Yakuza/LaD games released in English that aren't on your channel yet (namely, Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise and Yakuza: Dead Souls)?
That cant be real... Fist of the north star has a dlc where you can change kenshiro with kiryu, since its made by the same studio, has the same engine and vibe and even the same VA. Try it
Garbaggio man is a mood and my favorite outfit until it reminds me the monsters of silent hill 2 and all is hell and nightmares. Libido man on the other hand, very nice👍 (like borat would said).
i want to play these games but i don't know where to start, like do i just go by release date and play them all or is there a secret better order to play them (like the dmc games)?
I somehow managed to get 4 submissions in there. 4:49 A friend shared me that one lol. 7:03 I clipped that one myself watching AJ'S playthrough of Yakuza 5. 8:45 This one was memed to death in chat whenever Kuze was around. 18:40 The NOT Rickroll/ Disco roll is mine. It was one of 2 submissions in the entire thread that got 5 👍.
I'd say Either 0 or 7 (Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the official name). 0 is a prequel to the series and a great starting point as it's the first chronologically. 0 has a slower start, but if you're willing to get past it, it's an amazing ride. 7 hooks you in real quick and while it has a new protagonist so it's not as connected to the previous games, the later half of the story references characters and events from the previous games.
Go in order.0, Kiwami, Kiwami 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Like A Dragon, Gaiden and then Infinite Wealth. there's also Ishin but that's a side story. Avoid Dead Souls like the plague
Release order or 0. The advantage of release order is seeing how the series improved with each release while 0 onwards is the story in chronological order.
Now that you are contractually obligated. Do you know if I can play the version with NG+ of Infinite Wealth on Gamepass? I literally got no money to get it on Steam
